Eviction scheduled at 8:30 AM this morning

tick tock tick tock...
She filed all of this AFTER the 8:30 AM deadline, so they definitely haven't packed a thing. Some people do this in the childish belief that if they don't pack or get ready, they'll be given more time.

What ends up happening is the marshal comes with a squad of helpers. These workers are NOT movers. They are not there to treat your items as precious, and protect and pack them carefully. They are there to get your shit out to the curb as soon as humanly possible. Fuck your dishes, fuck the food in yoir fridge, fuck your collection of dollies and whatever medical cosplay items Laur has strategically placed throughout the property to slow the eviction down. All of it goes into black plastic yard bags together and it all gets tossed out to the curb. If you nicely cooperate, the sheriff or marshal might give you a few minutes to collect your phone, a charger, and your purse and put it in your car.

Then come the lookie-loos and the dumpster divers, picking through your items and sneaking them away if they see anything good. It's all fair game once it's out on the curb.

Hope you're having a fun afternoon, Laur! It couldn't have happened to a nicer lady.

It looks like Laur's latest schizo filings were done under a new, fifth motion to stay. Obviously, she did this in order to claim there's a pending appeal in a last second effort to stave off the marshal and physical removal from the premises.

I doubt this will be effective, given that Landlord Jin and Lawyer Dong are likely on site to explain that the housing court denied a stay six times, the civil supreme court denied her twice, and the appellate court rejected her appeal out of hand and declined to hear the case. However, Laur will certainly have called the cops to wave her latest appeal in their faces and claim that a decision is still pending.

Police have to adjudicate these kinds of things on the spot, and sometimes squatters with open cases are able to stave off removal - but that's when cops are called in for squatter removal, not when the marshal has a warrant to evict. The eviction warrant hasn't been rescinded, and that's the one thing Laur can't argue with (though she is probably trying to as we speak.)

'Landlord pocketed public funds.'

Laur, you absolute slotted spoon...he was SUPPOSED to 'pocket' the HRA money. That's literally the only legal thing it's meant to be used for: paying your ridiculously long overdue rent. You did that, though not to completion - you still owe about $90k. Thank god Vincent 'pocketed' the $28k. Because despite your delusions to the contrary, you aren't entitled to live anywhere rent-free unless you own it, Laur. This is very basic stuff we keep having to point out.

At least it would seem LJ comes by her idiocy honestly.

I sincerely hope Vincent comes after her for the balance of what she owes and, once her wages are garnished for a decade or so, 'pockets' that $ as well.

She can't live somewhere for free. I don't understand why she thinks anybody, let alone a judge, would agree that she should be allowed to do that.

I think her retarded "argument" was that that HRA money was supposedly for a certain time range. Which of course it wasn't. So somehow the landlord got paid about 6400 too much by the HRA, and that he should pay that back. Heh. Probably to the account of laur, and she would take it up with the HRA.

LJ should send out a press release that due to unforeseen schizo issues she's now enjoying fresh outside air.

"Life-safety crisis" Is ol' Ed in an iron lung and they are unplugging him? Of course she's using fantastical language meant to pull at the heart strings but come the fuck on.

If any member of my household was as medically fragile as Laur claims what’s his name is, keeping a roof over our head would be my FIRST priority. I’m surprised she hasn’t found herself slapped with an elder abuse charge.

This is precisely what I thought of when Laur threatened earlier in this current eviction saga that she would call APS. Wouldn't she be calling to report herself, as Earl's caregiver, for being a shitty caregiver and spending them into homelessness? By using Earl's social security check on buying internet likes and follows for her daughter, rather than on Earl's housing, health, and safety?

Laur didn't actually call APS to self-report until last week, probably because she realized the report risked Earl and his social security check being removed from her care. She must be utterly lost in delusion to have followed through on this total own-goal at the eleventh hour.

This isn't their first eviction, but it seems to be the first where Laur was unable to scam a new lease before getting turned out into the streets.

Laur has probably been running this scam for years on individual landlords in Queens, before rental records were easily accessible online; when there wasn't a "DO NOT RENT" database available to landlords; and before pretty much every landlord in NYC required a credit check prior to move-in. She got lucky at their current place for six years because they moved in during Covid, when landlords were desperate to get people into empty units - only for Laur to forego rental payments immediately because of the Covid era eviction moratoriums in big cities. Six years of free rent plus Covid gibs me dats had Laur believing this day would never come.

Now, Laur and Earl have two evictions on their record, plus a recent bankruptcy, plus a fuckton of personal debt that can't be majicked away by bankruptcy. Lillie doesn't have any rental history, but she also has rock bottom credit due to nonpayment of debt - and no rental history at age 25 means you need to either get a co-signer on a lease; or pay a massive deposit and rent in advance; or prove you make 40x the rent ($128k for their current place at $3,200 per month); or some combination of the above - WITH good credit.

I hope Laur starts filing more schizo babble tomorrow! If she starts on about reinstatement of tenancy, then we know for sure they got put out today.

Does she think calling the police means she can stay? Unfortunately with her plot armor this season, it probably will buy her some time.

I've been following her since the original delusional artists reddit thread, and she is by far one of the most frustrating people on this site or LCF because her scams just keep working out over and over.

At a certain point, people need to see actual consequences for this kind of behavior. I feel terrible for the landlord, but it goes deeper than that. It’s pretty black-pilling to watch systems that were originally set up to protect vulnerable people get exploited by scammers to hurt others instead.

Hard agree. They’ve ruined so many people’s lives exploiting systems needed for actual victims. I hope they are kicked out because this karma is well deserved. Thank fucking god they can’t bully kiwi farms into deleting posts about them like they bullied YouTube and Reddit.

These people are bottom of the barrel.

Gtfo, indeed.

It seems they resisted eviction forcefully, which is a rare case. Some folks won't answer the door, but that's easily remedied with a locksmith and evictions always have one on hand for that purpose (lots of evictions feature an entire household of unemployed adults "sleeping" through the Sheriff of Marshal knocking on the door.)

But Laur went and did some crazy people shit by refusing to physically leave the premises, resulting in her being physically moved by the marshal and landlord while she hollered at LJ to call the cops. It sounds like a shitshow, but not a shitshow that landed Laur in jail given that she was filing documents last night.

Judge Greenberg came down with the hammer yet again, making Laur's eviction warrant still valid for any day after Monday. If Laur thinks the marshal isn't coming back with reinforcements, she is more of an idiot than we ever assumed.

ETA: I wonder if the late hour of the marshal's visit last night was a heads up that he'd be coming by with the eviction crew today? Sheriffs and Marshals can't always evict everyone on the exact warrant date, and he may have been behind schedule given the long holiday weekend. So maybe Vincent and the marshal made a courtesy visit last night to change the locks (which is totally permissible per the eviction warrant) and let the Truemans know that they'll be removed tomorrow. Laur freaks out and accuses them of assault, calls the cops, calls an ambulance, and fires off both a nighttime filing and a pre-dawn one the following day. Now that Judge Greenberg refused to even review Laur's garbage, it's time to go today. Thoughts?

ETA2: I can't tell if the dispatch was saying "seven males" or "several males" were being reported for the alleged "home invasion". If there were seven people, then they were working late and the whole eviction crew showed up to put the Truemans out. If it was several males, that was probably just the marshal, landlord, and locksmith coming to change the locks and inform Laur that they'd be moved out today, imo.
