The only thing that is starting to annoying me is Cooper's relationship with the single mom hispanic.
I feel that.

Maybe it's because I grew up in one of Those Families but when she asked why nobody was talking about the mom I got sincerely triggered, like a combination of "How dare you!" and "Whoa shit!"

I'm also sure that if she told her son's abuelita that Cooper was about to be a zillionare and she'd kicked him out of the house, the abuelita would whack on her with a chancla.

Like I said upthread in so many words, Sheridan has a thing for making his men pussy-whipped in a way that doesn't quite hang together for me.

Counterpoint: Batman
Spider-Man?
I’m mixed on the show. It’s Billy Bob playing Billy Bob, which I enjoy. But most of the other characters are just obnoxious. They feel focus grouped to a really artificial and hollow level so there’s no subtlety or ambiguity whatsoever. Just like Tulsa King, another Taylor Sheridan joint.
Typical Sheridan slop. Even his movies have an annoying fake quality to them because he just wants to get a point across and nothing has consequences unless he wants them to. See Wind River where the FBI broad gets her entire team slaughtered but is treated like a heroine. He makes soap operas for old men.

The coworker roommates are the best part after Billy Bob.

This cartel finance guy is also kind of interesting (hilarious how Tommy is spending so much time trying to get his dipshit son out from the cartel deal only for his retard boss Demi Moore signing the dotted line).

Also sad that we are getting no developments with the eye candy that is the daughter.

I am four wells deep into the new season and I gotta say this season is way better than the first season.

There's still a problem with the "bitches be crazy" shit, but they've gotten into the weird humor and the characters are allowed some breathing space that wasn't there in the first season.

Also, Angela is the type specimen of histrionic personality disorder.

It's a rare one among the other cluster B's, which are narcissism, borderline, and antisocial.

She feels a desperate need to be the center of attention at all times. Even when she's doing something good, like volunteering at the retirement home, it's the Angela show.

It's still a soap, but it's now providing laugh out loud moments and weepy moments that the first season was missing.
Angela is every rich, redneck woman I have ever met rolled into one and then dialed to 11.
The only thing that is starting to annoying me is Cooper's relationship with the single mom hispanic. Look I got it at first with survivors remorse and he's a 22 year shitbag but the whole has gone full hicklib with her girlbossing the dude that has a chance to be a multimillionaire oilman striving for his dream. The story line of Cooper finding the edges the big guys misses with the looming threating of the Cartel calling their favor is way more interesting then this particular drama.
She's doing that latina thing where she wants her man to have machismo. So she acts like a bitch because she wants him to yell at her(or smack her around) to show he's a man. It is just as tiring in real life as it is on the show.

What we saw of them of the three of them living in the Frat House mode before the Billy Bob BiPolar Ex-wife showed up was really fun. Just three of the top people of this oil company living like 20 year old all hanging out in a house solving every single problem as it came up. Were a pretty effective team. Two with ex-wives and grown kids and I always assumed Nate's wife died/never married just basically regressing to highly effective frat bros.

Episode 8 was called "Handsome Touched Me", Demi Moore got flirted with by a man at a bar and he touched her face. She called him "very handsome", he was not handsome in any way. I don't know why the show is trying to Gaslight me in this way.
I honestly thought when Tommy was entering the office building at the end it was going to be to beat the shit out of the guy that harassed his boss.

Instead it was just him meeting with the Cartel money man.

Demi Moore in a past episode, after being told her company is involved in a fuckhuge shell game: Muh husband's LEGACY!

Demi Moore in this episode, after being told she's literally gambling with everything Monty built: Muh WORD!

I know she's supposed to be a fucking retard for the sake of drama, but JESUS CHRIST.

There is a scene in the latest episode that's 110%. No spoilers but I fucking DIED and came back to life to post this comment.

Scenes like that make me only grudgingly like Sheridan's shows. I want to line up commies against the wall and start painting as much as any proper American, but I've heard enough of boomers' cold takes ending in 'Don't you feel silly now, Libtard?!' to last the rest of my life. Quit the politics and just make the old man yell at the radio and the milf be a cunt to Nate while wearing her pajamas.

It's also mostly the reason I think his best series is the one he's least involved in - Mayor of Kingstown.

His shows are all political, and most of the plotlines are political.

Even the MILF being a cunt to Nate says something about the boomtown lifestyle: this isn't anyone's home, it's just a place they live. Rich men in their 60s as roommates in a McMansion is such a surreal premise in the first place, like the anti-bunkhouse.

His stuff is hit or miss, but when it hits, it goes hard.

When it misses, it's usually boring and not infuriating, like some other shows. The first season had some annoying moments but I can see how he evened out the plane in the second season.

Hits a sweet spot of generally easy to watch but with a few little moments that stick.

But I really hope that we see Pay-gan again.

I liked it when LandMan walked into the head cops office and told all the cops how they should be copping, then they listened because LandMan knows all.

The daughters season long story arc of getting along with her ginger dyke roommate was captivating television.

I know it's just a stupid soap opera for men trying to deal with their midlife crisis, but the stripper deciding to be with 80 year old Sam Elliott is wild even for a TS show.
