To establish just how fast the event occurred, weakening Binger’s argument that Kyle had time to think and plan rather than just react.
No kidding, the shooting with Rosenbong was over so quickly, when you see footage at normal speed, you just see a puff of smoke and powdered pedo pelvis, without sound you don't even realize it was 4 shots.
It's Richards, and I swear I'm listening to Governor Jesse "The Body" Ventura every time he opens his mouth.
"Just a bunch of slack jawed soyboy prosecutors around here. This defense case will turn you into a sexual tyrannosaur. Like me."

I figured that's what it was but it doesn't make sense when they've watched the video over and over seeing how fast everything happened. If I'm a juror, I'm bored as fuck.
That can be put squarely at the feet of Binger because of his objection and fucking around with labels. Which is his job, but its a really slimy thing to do.

What is the purpose of boring the jury with this tedious bullshit?

A 2016 study has shown that jurors who are shown surveillance video, in slow motion, of criminal acts committed by defendants often suffer from ‘intentionality bias’. Even when reminded that the footage was artificially slowed down, unanimous juries were four times more likely to convict when they viewed slowed-down video than juries who did not. The study shows that jurors ascribed greater premeditation and intent to these defendants, despite the reminders, resulting in higher conviction rates as well as more severe sentences.

He's got to set this up to counter this bias.

The problem is that I don't really see how this helps, it presents it to the jury but... the lawyer isn't doing a great job highlighting the important bits.

I have a feeling Binger is going to stand up for cross and give a hollow “Thank you for your service” to seem like less of a weasel.
You think he'll suddenly develop a sense of self-awareness, today of all days? You don't think he'll instead start off with "As a military man, you are a baby killer, correct?"

Richards probably should not have been the one to bring up Black. Richards is autistic on details and having him interview another detail focused autist will make this just slow down into a boring slog. Bezos lawyer would be able to make this more tolerable.

None of the questions Richard's is asking make sense for foundation. It's just... boring.
