But Seriously he's still out there and even if thr LRA has splintered and is very diminished he's still ran an army of child soldiers with basicly zero consequences.
Kony 2012 was such a weird slacktivist ouroboros. It was bringing awareness to a genuine fucked issue but it became such a big slacktivism meme it torpedoed any chance that people would actually force the issue and cemented it as the slacktivism everyone saw it as.

That Kony 2012 thing was when I really became aware of how fucking retarded most people I know are. If you spent more than 30 seconds looking into the situation, you'd realize why the movement was retarded but you still had dozens of people in your feed shilling it. Entirely performative and set the stage for the Free Palestine crowd of today.

My brain disease has taken my dog, my kids, my home, my family, my friends, my career, and almost my life. I have survived suicidal ideation every day since March 15th, 2012, which was the date of Invisible Children-KONY 2012-South Park-Jacking' it off-naked-TMZ-masturbatory (allegedly) meltdown. I died that day. Heartbreak.

I was baptized and reborn on August 11th, 2024, at my home church College Ave in San Diego. I am a servant to Jesus Christ, The Prince of Peace. What Jesus wants, Jesus gets. He has taken the wheel. I have taken a vow of poverty, and I will only work for the mentally unwell and poor around the world for the rest of my life.

I don't have a cell phone, email, or any social media. I am a happy caveman. But I can still receive your text messages when I am on the internet.

I have given up on vaping, tobacco, and any drugs or alcohol - forever. The body truly keeps the score - and it is a temple.

I have been homeless since May 26th, 2022 (2 years and 3 months). Shout out to: Heidi Zadok, Bobby Bailey & Erin, AND the INSANELY LOVING Amy & Ryan Hansen for taking me in, when no one else would.

I have been living on the streets for the past 3 months. Literally. And it's a war zone out there. The government is systematically committing genocide to our unhoused friends through demolition of encampments, police brutality, and pumping the system with murderous fentanyl. My car (Little Red Corvette) has been my only home and refuge, and it is currently being impounded because I can't afford it... hence this GoFundMe. Here's the ask...

All I need is $1,922 car payment $478 dollars for car insurance, and $933 dollars to get my car back in Pacific Beach this Tuesday the 3rd of September 2024. TOTAL: $3,333

I'd be completely lying if I said I didn't find this funny as fuck, because it is hilarious, but this was basically complete slander. The dude was clearly not jacking it, just running around naked which definitely isnt good but still better then public masterbation. I don't know if it was an honest mistake or they just didn't want to let the truth get in the way of a good gag but it kinda leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I don't think south park can pretend to have any sort of moral high ground if they're fine lying about someone who was having a comple and total mental break down. Also the episodes commentary was just weirdly wrong, it made it out like the kony video was a payed movie and not a public short that advertised for donations and a gay package of stupid shit to spread awareness.

You have to kinda have respect Joseph Kony on some level. The fact that Joseph Kony not only is still alive but outlived so many terrorists and governments while being a diabetic is something worth respecting for.

He's basically hiding in Sudan with possible a hundred at most members of his broken army. Since his army had basically completly fallen apart, in 2017 people stopped seeing him a threat and don't want to put the effort into arresting him despite all the shit he did.

I remember when it came out, and I remember seeing the video, and thinking it was the dumbest shit ever, yet everyone kept passing that video around.
