King of the hill appreciation thread - Yup.

The voices are just so bad. This isn't like Pokemon where you can replace Ash's voice actor with any other woman who can do a raspy voice. These characters were 'people' that we 'knew', intentionally written and crafted in such a way, and it feels like a bunch of skinwalkers on the screen pretending to be them poorly.

At first I wasn't too keen on the finale's radical reset to the status quo but then I thought about it and realized the "Hank gets bored with retirement and does whacky thing or goes whacky place" thing was already getting stale like the third time it happened.
I thought it was a good full circle moment because Hank not only proved what the series has shown up to that point that he was too good for Strickland and that even when Buck groveled and begged him to come back he still turned he down showing how much he had grown and only after seeing the condition of place himself that he took co ownership felt well earned. Of course thos also means that the following seasons will be more focused on Bobby and I'll be honest he's pretty much the weakest aspect of this revival thus far due to how aimless a lot of his subplots are.

It's actually based on a couple different places in Texas.
Squirrel Tactics has a pretty good video going over what the show tells us about Arlen, and the best guess is that it's somewhere around the Killeen/Temple region of Texas.

In one episode Dale said “500 miles away in Marfa”, so along the diameter of the circle created by the 500-mile radius from Marfa that is in Texas:

The Dale cucking comes across as mean spirited now. It was a funny joke at first, now it just feels rather... What's the word, "undoing?" Like it just up and undid a lot of character work done in previous seasons.

Dale really should've stayed with that exterminator woman, is all i'm sayin'.

Yeah, now that we know Nancy never loved him and was just pretending to be done with the affair that episode comes off as tragic since Dale has proven his love for Nancy time and again and we know the exterminator woman did love him. Dale may be a little crazy but he has the most open and loyal heart of any character on the show and he deserves way better. The reason Nancy gets away with cheating on him isn't that Dale is stupid, its that he would never think of cheating on her so it never crosses his mind that she would cheat on him. Dale deserves better and now Nancy has replaced Peggy as my most hated character on the show.

This show needs to give Dale a revenge episode. He needs to meet a loyal woman who lets him in on the affair, tell all his so called friends off for not telling him, and then he needs to use his extensive knowledge of the law to ditch Nancy in such a way that she gets nothing and is hamulated live on air on the news and then he gets together with the new woman. I really hate Nancy and John Redcorn and want to see them both suffer.

The show already fucked this up by having John Redcorn try to be a part of Joseph's life and then try to seduce Nancy again in the later seasons thus shitting on his character development in "Nancy Boys" where he broke off their relationship for the sake of his new found respect for Dale which the show just retconned. I'm not too bothered by it because both Nancy and John are terrible people and became worse characters as the show went on.

*a part of

Apart means the opposite.

Reminder that the new writers see this as Hank "progressing" as in growing as a person and trying new things. Him abandoning all his beliefs and become a degen is growing I guess.

HE WHAT?!

This isn't the Hank Hill who hooked me on the show back in 2001, this is an abomination.

This is is why I refuse to watch any modern Disney slop, it is all the same progressive trash!

I ordered season 3 and 4 on DVD and am going to rewatch the classic seasons instead of this shit.
