As big of a fan as I am of this show(I recorded all the episodes off of TV and put them in order on a folder on my computer back in the day when not all the episodes were on DVD)I have to say season 10 on was hard to watch and that is why I am avoiding the revival, I am afraid it will be more of the same.
I really don't think Hank would leave Texas, let alone the US for years on end and I really don't think Peggy would go to a country where women have no rights. So the whole set up feels wrong to me.
The episode that ended with Hank and Bobby grilling together felt like the perfect ending to me so I don't see a reason to ruin it.
I dunno. I like the one where Luanne's dad comes to Arlen. Shows just how shitty of a situation she was coming from and how much of an uphill battle it was for Hank and Peggy when it came to helping her. Otherwise? I think that's a very fair list.
Fairly hopeful for the new season. I was pleasantly surprised by the last one. I had some gripes, for sure. Like, no way in Hell either Hank or Peggy would have loved Saudi Arabia. And the animation quality (Or lack thereof) and Khan's new voice are all BIG detriments. But my Laotian waifu Minh is now single and she aged like a fine wine, so that balances out. (Joke)
The fact that the characterization was so consistent and that even plot points I thought would suck were spun in ways that were actually entertained and interested me caught me off guard. I thought that manosphere episode would suck so much ass. Instead, it was one of the better ones. Same goes for Connie being poly. The show went out of the way to rightfully shit on that life and I think lesser shows would've instead advocated for Bobby to just accept being cucked.

The idea of Peggy voluntarily wearing a veil or a hijab or any such shit is insane. And I fucking hate Peggy. Easily my least favorite KOTH character, but she especially would have had issues with Saudi Arabia.

Yeah, in most TV shows if an idea was dropped there was a reason and even if you think the original idea was better once you have spent years with another there is just too much tonal whiplash to make the change work.
I hated what they did when Cotton died for one. I think the episode where he helps Peggy and she help him get a veteran's grave is my favorite episode and it is undone just so they can flush Cotton down the toilet,

What happened in the later seasons of King of the Hill is like what would have happened if in season 5 of The Rockford Files they changed Rocky from a truck driver to a conman because that was the original idea they had in the pilot. Sure you could get some stories from it but at the cost of messing with the foundations the show is built on.
I didn't really find much to dislike in the season. Nitpicks here and there... I find Dale's new voice actor a bad fit but admit nailing that voice would be nearly impossible.
Weakest episode so far seems to be the fake marriage episode imo. I could see them getting divorced or being in a loveless marriage and together but not divorced and living together for appearances.

Johnny Hardwick had a voice that was hard to replicate it. If you get a chance he had a youtube channel (dont know if its still there) where he was pretty much IRL Dale, channels name was Rusty Shackleford I think.

Same, Cotton earned that plot and he seemed deadset on being buried in it. I haven't seen the new season and likely never will (Toby Huss needs to go back to voicing Kahn before I do), but I know they also retconned Cotton not being in Germany just to have an offended German joke, which, not worth it.
Watching the new season. I noticed there's a lot of callbacks from previous seasons aligned with current year predicaments. I'm at an episode where Hank is looking for a job, of course it mentioned LinkedIn. You can tell the twists coming a mile away.
Honestly this is season is actually way more sold than the last one. Noting really too bad outside of the troon Chicken episode which happen to be written by a Rick and Morty writer. This episode and the one written by the bitch who worked on Velma last season, confirms to me that guess written episodes are going to be the worse ones

Agreed. Really solid string of episodes this season and character writing is thankfully more consistent which can offset some weak episode plots, which was also a case with the latter seasons of the show's original run, between this and the new Beavis and Butthead Judge seems to can't do no wrong.
