Note: I am just now learning of this guy. Apparently, he hated the new FFVII remakes, hates seeing anime in JRPGs despite liking anime when watching the shows, and is absolutely in love with Ex33.

Looking at his channel, his videos were would get 2k views until he played E33 and started shitting on final fantasy 7 and those seemingly went viral, so his entire channel and personality are those two things now, even milking the drama and hate he gets.

I vote on this dude being a grifter who doesn't even like japanes rpgs.

This guy is a complete fucking sperg who posted the same Bravely Default 2 clip about a good 100 something times when trying to downplay JRPGs and bring up Expedition 33. He might be the only person in the world who still gives a shit about Bravely Default 2. Like every account on Xitter they exist only to post ragebait, just ignore them.

In other words I've been playing Abarenbou Princess, an untranslated JRPG done by ALFA System, the same guys who made Linda Cubed, as well as Panzer Dragoon Saga.

E33 was good, but it wasn't a groundbreaking experience in any way other than that it helped redditors feel comfortable playing a JRPG-style game without the icky anime. Kind of like how BG3 was groundbreaking in that it was so full of whedonquips and queer representation that it was okay to play and like in public since it was one of those "cool" fantasy games instead of a nerdy one.

Game of Thrones was a cancer that ruined epic fantasies for at least the next 50 years or until all millenials die and we finally escape the memory of safe-edgy trash.

Apologies for shitting up my own wonderful thread with more E33 discourse, but yeah it's a good game, even if the guy drank too much of the parry kool-aid and it invalidates most of the legitimate strategy that was built up throughout the game. Why interact with building pictos for your party and giving them unique builds when the backhalf of the game is "parry or get 1 shot"? If it's any consolation I can never hate the director because he actually plays more JRPGs than just Chrono Trigger. I'm looking forward to whatever game he's dropping next just please don't make the only strategy parrying it's lame.

He's also giving the Tales of series more publicity than Bamco I could never hate a guy like him.

E33 was good, and sadly the jrpg genre is in a years long slump due to mobile slop/gacha.

Soul Nomad Is on Steam and on sale. I’ve only played Disgaea games but haven’t heard of this one.

Play it, it's great.

expedition 33 is the main reason why i ended up buying metaphor refantazio and the 3 main persona games you can easily purchase (persona 1 and 2 pending transactions for when they are someday ported to pc)

If you're on PC, just download PPSSPP and the ISOs for th ePersonas that were ported to it, there's an English fan translation for Persona 2: Innocent Sin for PSP, so you can play the original 3 games in their best form without waiting.
