Graces was simple to me but skits were hilarious. Berseria cast is amazing. Shame it was the franchise swan song.

The rumored Eternia remaster is sounding great though

Speaking of Graces, I liked all the political intrigue that was going on at the beginning of the story. Sadly all that got pushed by the way side as quickly as possible for POWER OF FRIENDSHIP and ALIENS story plot. I checked all the bonus content you got and there is so much stuff! You even get new skits that were only in Japanese voiced in english.

I remember not liking the cast much but they started to grow on me. Especially Pascal.

Última edición:
Tales of Eternia remaster confirmed in the Nintendo direct. Looks like we got new VAs as well so there's a high likelihood all the skits will be here as well.

Recently i decided to play Berseria on the side because i felt nostalgic. Although Velvet is my favorite tales mc, Berseria combat for me is kinda meh and repetitive, but the character interactions especially with Velvet and our autistic Magilou were priceless.
Yeah, the combat feels incredibly swingy in a not-good way. Either you start out favorable and completely sweep, or you get off an early SG boost via stun/down/etc and completely sweep, or you get doinked by a stun and the battle takes 3x as long.

Maybe it'd be less tedious on higher difficulties.

It leaked earlier but boy am I glad they're doing the older 2D titles. I didn't think they had it in em. This also probably means the skits are going to be added (unless they removed them for BOTH versions LMFAO). It makes me wonder if the reason the unlocalized titles are taking so long is because they're actually redubbing them with a new cast. It gives me hope that one day Destiny DC, Rebirth and Destiny 2 get remasters.

Pascal is best girl and also probably the most fun playstyle in Tales of. It was so cool seeing a twist on a ranged caster and her zooming across the field to hit enemies was like crack. I don't particularly mind the plot being meh because I liked the cast way more than I should. The skits in Graces are also top tier, especially in the F arc.

I have a couple of crack theories milling around in my head:
1) Phantasia and/or Destiny are being done as highly enhanced remakes. They're both incredibly beloved titles in Japan and both have gotten essentially complete remakes in the past. Maybe even HD-2D if Bamco wants to shoot its shot with that.
2) Bandai Namco Studios is using the remaster project as a way to gear up more of their staff to make Tales games and they're also gauging feedback from the "modern audience" about what works and what doesn't. Tales of Arise being so divisive has sent them back to the drawing board and the remaster project is them figuring out what comes next for the franchise (especially since there's been zero reveals about the next mothership title).

All very hopium. Rate optimistic.

I've been burned by bamco way too many times, especially with this series, for any of those to be even remotely possible. I'd love to be proven wrong but come on they just remastered Tales of Berseria, a game on every single modern platform with a screen with virtually zero new benefits.

I kind of buy the Phantasia/Destiny remake theory, especially since they have multiple different remakes (especially Phantasia) but I don't know if I'd really want that over them just bringing the FHD version of Phantasia and Destiny DC over as is.

Eiyuden Chronicles is on sale on Steam rn (it is pretty frequently, it seems). I've had my eye on it since it launched, but I know it'll never live up to old Suikoden. It see has okay reviews online. Has anyone here tried it?

Not sure if the localization mod is up to date. The loc is questionable especially off the main path where it was out of the eyes of the main writer until his death, and the usual suspects were free to fuck it up.

Never support politically biased translations, even if there are mods to replace them. The developer and publisher heard the criticisms and decided they mattered less than money/politics, so fuck them.

Even disregarding the translation issues, the game is just isn't very good. I honestly enjoyed Suikoden 4 more.

Has anyone played Final Fantasy VI T-Edition? Does it ever stop being RNG heavy bullshit where enemies attack you repeatedly and wipe your party members before your turn even starts? My strategy for one of the early bosses was basically keep reloading the game until the rng kills Locke before the battle even begins instead of Terra. Even random encounters seem pretty excessive and can wipe out party members in maybe two or three hits instead of one or two. It's kind of shitty, out of all the FFVI hacks I looked it, it seemed like the one that had the most stuff I'd actually like but defeating bosses by reloading the game to fuck with the rng and hope I don't die right away is kind of lame and gay. If it's just the beginning I can probably handle it but if the whole game's like that then fuck that shit I'll just play one of the new translation patches or something.

Fuck the moon cannon minigame in Blue Dragon.

Fuck it sideways sans lube.

Thank you for your attention to his matter.
The strategy guide lists exactly the play-by-play for that section to perfect it, like exactly what order to shoot each moon and how long to charge up your laser. If you want to get the achievement for it (can't remember if it's for no damage or not) you can look into that. The guide in general was very good.

Also if you're going for achievements, the Squashtrich one is kind of weird. You can't die and choose "retry" because even then, if you don't take any damage, you won't get the achievement. You have to entirely reload for it to let you get the achievement. That made me very tilted
