I know, I know. Don't be fooled by the title, it's bait.

This girl might be kind of annoying but she gives an honest to god retrospective on Jon's videos and is an actual oldhead fan. She loves his videos and appraises and analyzes their quality beyond "yikers that didn't age well"
I give this video 4/5 stars.

If Daikatana isn't rated highly I'm going to call this slop

Edit: I deep this slop simply because she really harps on his use of the "R slur" and has to immediately address the Destiny debate in a video about his content. She also literally says "that didn't age well" and "yikes" so idk.

(I’m glad Jon is doing well, was just watching his Food Games series and felt a little nostalgic, can’t believe it came out a decade ago)

I just realized his son is a year old now. Likely walking and practicing his runs, babbling nonsensical sounds, giggling at the littlest things, sticking numerous objects into orifices and making his dad omit weird ECH noises himself at the sight.

Him being silent just means he takes fatherhood seriously, wants to be in the kid's life. Really happy for him.

Just wrap the kid up in flex tape.
That should keep him still long enough to make us a video.

I don't get why people get so upset over the destiny debate to this very day. Jon was arguing for his points shittily but he wasn't wrong, source being: look at literally any Western-European capital right now.

because optics are everything and if you fuck it up once that's it forever for you. there is no "but he argued from the point of view of the child of immigrants," because they don't care about that context. that is not what they heard. they heard this and that's all they need to know. if you try to explain what he was talking about (because you actually watched the debate) or use this, they're not even going to listen. they do not wish to understand. this principle also applies to people who were accused of sexual harassment or e-sexual harassment and were later found out to have not committed the crimes they were accused of. whether it turns out that everything you said was taken out of context between two friends who regularly say such things to each other, or that the accusations involved hypnosis induced via bird, or that they just didn't like you very much, you can not get them to accept any real explanation that wasn't the first thing they heard.

In hindsight, yes. I will say in Jon’s defense, internet cancel culture was still in its infancy when he agreed to debate Destiny, so he probably wasn’t aware the repercussions of even going slightly political back then.

*Insert joke/lament about how gamergate in 2014 irreversibly changed the internet for the worse.*
