🎭 Dramacow Jon Monsarrat / Jonathan Graves Monsarrat / JonMon / mitcarpediem - Lawsuit Loving Sex Pest

I'll ask him (Marc) what he thinks.

If it turns out there is a COI or even if there isn't, you might want to ask Rendazza, assuming he does have a way to contact this Donny idiot, to explain not only what legally protected satire is, but also that his libel sprees against everyone he doesn't like are very stupid in a legal sense and that Donny should cease since he's already got one lawyer mad at him already.

I doubt it will help, but apparently Donny has leaned on this guy for legal advice in the past, so since this idiot is going after you and trying to get the subject of this thread to help him, couldn't hurt to have an actual lawyer tell Donny the facts of life.

In any case, I wish ED and yourself the best, you guys are funny as hell, and I would greatly enjoy laughing my ass off to you guys and your lulzy content for some time to come.

Gotta admit I'm curious about how long it will take CLP to say something about zaiger hiring Randazza.

If he can't take the case, I'm sure he knows someone who has no CoI to pass it off to.

I know it's a long shot, but what about asking the pig farmer to kick in some bucks. You're no worse off if he says no.

I think there are perils in trying to turn an opportunistic copyright case into a free speech case, though.

He is using copyright to try and stifle free speech.

I do understand that but you complied with his request. If you can keep it about that simple issue, it's going to be a lot less expensive and drawn out.

ED's not the model defendant for a free speech case test case involving copyright trolls, anymore than we are.

Its motivation is what makes it a SLAPP instead of just a bogus lawsuit and could end up getting this clown slapped with ED's legal fees. Obviously the primary focus will be getting the case thrown out based on the fact that clear law prohibits a lawsuit from proceeding in these circumstances, which are exactly what the DMCA safe harbor provisions are supposed to stop dead in their tracks.

I want to bring attention to monsarat.com, his "next big thing to beat Pokemon Go".
He clearly has no idea how the industry works, not understanding that the main reason Pokemon Go became popular was that Pokemon is an established, popular IP, and the concept of catching Pokemon is novel and can't translate well to any other franchise.
In addition he doesn't seem to have any idea what he's doing (he's trying to get the rights to various IPs, meaning he doesn't even know what the game will be.)
He appears EXTREMELY out of touch.

Holy shit, that is hideous. Even shitty Chinese Pokemon Go knockoffs look better. Monsarrat desperately needs younger people on his team, he doesn't know what he's doing.

I'm kind of surprised popehat was so bitchy, given his articles about this nitwit that included ED. Though browsing through some recent articles does seem to show a bit of a leaning on his part...

Wish there were more friendly crowdfunding sites... the one in question only refunds 85% of a donation if it's not met (assuming you don't want to put it into another campaign)
