There's no way not to laugh at someone for whom eating a pretzel constitutes a major mental effort fraught with danger.

There's a bit of a difference between "Oh lol he so dumb he can't eat" and "Damn it, he didn't DIE!"

But then again, I'm just old enough to remember the vitriol directed at Clarence Thomas during his confirmation hearings, on broadcast television no less.

Even W made jokes about that afterward too, though. The dude has a sense of humor about himself

He did make statements saying that Obama should be tried for treason hung. Which can easily be seen as a call for violence given the history of lynching and Obama being a black man.

That's like every other article on the Huffington Post though, calling for Trump, everyone from his staff and all of his supporters to be executed for treason. At this point, I have all of these retards on ignore and I live my life exactly the same as I would have had hillary won. Nothing is going to happen, Trump is going to serve his 4 to 8 years, and the world will go on. I'm so sick of these Hollywood attention whores whose careers are circling the drain so they need to do something edgy and wacky to get the news talking about them again. Fuck them. And Kathy Griffin, you never were funny. The funniest thing you did was annoy Jerry Seinfeld for real when you on the show that time.

If your reaction to a dumb thing a celebrity does, outside of attempted murder/murder/rape/etc is anything other than "What a fucking idiot, now Im gonna go on about my day" then you're deffo a lolcow

wasnt depp know to be an asshole before trump became president? he's kindof a dick in reality.

Idk, but I do think he has one of those reputations where he lives for his "craft". One of those douchey types that stays in character, even when they're not on the set, loses 80 pounds, putting his own health at risk to play a cancer patient in an "Indy Flick" where he isn't going to make dick for money.

I'm not sure, but I think he has that sort of reputation among Hollywood types. Other than that, I think he mostly stays to himself IIRC, which is better than most of them. This latest thing is lame for sure, but I don't recall hearing him doing anything like that before (though I could be wrong, I don't give a shit about Depp and I never followed his career, so anyone please feel free to inform me of other douchey things he's done in the past).

lol a bunch of alt right and conservative cry babies protested celebrities in dc hahahahahaha

Two rallies protesting ‘jokes’ about violence against Donald Trump failed to attract more than one hundred people.

The two different rallies, held in Washington D.C., were also attended by a number of counter-protesters, who almost outnumbered the original protesters, Reuters reported.

The demonstrations follow several instances of celebrities alluding the president should be assassinated, the first one coming from comedian Kathy Griffin, who shared a spoof picture of herself holding Trump’s decapitated, and was subsequently fired from CNN's New Year's Eve show.

Following a backlash over the picture, Griffin apologized, stating in comments carried by ABC: “I sincerely apologize.”

"I went way too far. The image is too disturbing. I understand how it offends people,” she added.

The picture she shared was not taken as a joke by the Secret Service, who tweeted after the incident: “Threats made against ‪@SecretService protectees receive the highest priority of all of our investigations. ‪#ProtectionNeverRests.”

“On it! ‪@SecretService has a robust protective intelligence division that monitors open source reporting & social media to evaluate threats,” the Secret Service added.

The second such comment from a celebrity came from actor Johnny Depp, who appeared at the U.K’s Glastonbury festival and joked: “When was the last time an actor assassinated a President?”

He later issued an apology, exclusively telling People magazine: "I apologize for the bad joke I attempted last night in poor taste about President Trump.”

He added: "It did not come out as intended, and I intended no malice. I was only trying to amuse, not to harm anyone.”

On Sunday, protesters in D.C. chanted “unite the right,” as they gathered to listen to speakers such as white nationalist Richard Spencer, whose speech drew around 100 people.

Alt-right activist Jack Posobiec, who attended the rallies, told Reuters: "We're here for peace.” He added that such suggestions of violence from celebrities such as Griffin and Depp demonstrated violence against the left was being "normalized."

"It needs to stop," he added.

During the late 80s-90s, he regularly trashed hotel rooms after doing a shitton of cocaine and iirc punched at least one or two paparazzi. He was basically the quintessential "bad boy" celebrity. He mellowed out somewhere around 2000 and pretty much lived a quiet life until the whole Amber Heard debacle (which happened literally days after his mom--who he was incredibly close to--died.)

From what I've heard, though, he's gracious to fans that meet him, and he does have a genuine soft spot for kids. In addition to the hospital visits, he's done a few surprise appearances at schools in-costume for kids who write to Jack Sparrow.

Basically, he's a messed up guy from Kentucky with substance abuse problems who can be equal parts asshole-ish and kind. If he wasn't famous, he'd be that good old boy from the trailer park who spouts some stupid shit but you still consider inviting to your barbecue because he's kinda fun.
