Science Jogger kills mountain lion with bare hands in self-defense - Unequivocally based.

Colorado jogger kills a mountain lion with his BARE HANDS after it attacked him on a running trail and bit on the face, back, legs and arms

A Colorado jogger fought off a mountain lion in the foothills of Horsetooth Mountain on Monday, suffering severe bites before he killed the wild animal in self-defense, authorities said.

The man, who was not identified, was jogging on a trail on the West Ridge of the Horsetooth Mountain Open Space, a mountain park about 66 miles northwest of Denver.

The mountain lion attacked him from behind, biting and clawing the man's face, back, legs and arms, the Colorado Parks and Wildlife and the Larimer County Department of Natural Resources said in a joint release, late on Monday.

However, it was not disclosed exactly how the jogger managed to kill the animal, and no one from the CPW or the Larimer DNR was available for comment early Tuesday.

Responding to a question on Twitter about whether the jogger had used any kind of weapon against the create, the CPW confirmed that he had not.

Instead, he fought the animal off using just his bare hands.

But CPW did report that the animal was a juvenile, which would have significantly increased his chances of fighting off the attack.

Adult male mountain lions can weigh anywhere between 110 and 180 pounds and females 80 to 130 pounds - so a juvenile is likely to weigh significantly less, particularly a female.

The sex of the animal that ambushed the jogger was not reported.

The runner was able to get himself to a local hospital and his injuries were serious but not life-threatening, officials said.

The animal's body was recovered near the jogger's dropped possessions and taken to a CPW lab for a necropsy.

'The runner did everything he could to save his life,' said Mark Leslie, CPW Northeast Regional Manager. 'In the event of a lion attack, you need to do anything in your power to fight back, just as this gentleman did.'

Lion attacks have caused fewer than 20 fatalities in the United States in the past 100 years. Sixteen known attacks have occurred in Colorado since 1990, officials said.

'Mountain lion attacks are not common in Colorado and it is unfortunate that the lion's hunting instincts were triggered by the runner,' said Ty Petersburg, area wildlife manager for the CPW in a statement. 'This could have had a very different outcome.'

Who kills a man-hunting mountain lion with his bare hands and doesn't want to be named? Also why aren't they even disclosing how this hand-to-hand combat master/barbarian warrior beat this beast to death?

Probably the coolest story of 2019 that was never told.
I know who it was

Someone who doesn't want the pain of some animal rights dingbats sending him rape and death threats.

So he's man enough to kill a mountain lion with nothing more than some jogging clothes and the unyeilding drive to conquer nature (at its most murderous) to death with his bare hands... but he can't handle some soy based screeching and idle threats on the internet.

Something doesn't add up.

He should give up jogging for some less risky recreation like, I dunno, punching sharks.

Killing a soytard, unfortunately, lands you in jail, though.

I was going to say something like: he could just beat the animal-rights cry babies to death too.

Honestly though, any backlash from the media he suffers social or professional would be dwarfed by support pouring in as a direct result against said soytard screeching.

I'm reminded of a similar story, except it was an older lady. Same deal though, she choked a cougar that attacked her.

And yeah, the rear naked choke is devastating to most animals, so long as a human is strong enough to be able to overcome their neck muscles enough to cut off blood flow to the brain. It's such an easy motion too.

I don't know if a human can strangle a bear. Seems like people have better luck gouging bears eyes and just making it really suck for them to kill a human. There was that dude that won a boxing match against a bear after his dog accidentally disturbed the cub. Nearly uppercutted the bears nose off.

Because in this day and age, the loud, whiney morons of social media virtue signalling would crucify him regardless of it being a justified self defense.

He gave the mountain lion a warriors death in honourable combat, the soy filled babies would be granted no such mercy. He’s doing them a favour.

That was clearly not grizzly. Smart mountian lions drop out of trees or attack from behind. Even humans have a hard time fighting back while humping the dirt and being bitten in the neck.

So yeah, the mountain lion attempted to sneak attack him from behind but he picked the wrong hombre as a snack. If he had just waited for the next jogger the mountain lion probably would have succeeded. As for dropping from the trees as a form of attack: This is why I'm glad Dropbears only exist in Shadowrun

This is the inevitable consequence of declaring that people have inalienable rights.

At first that happens yes, but then you quickly see a landslide of support that overshadows the negative soy screeching from social media, as if in direct defiance.
[case in point]
The MAGA hat wearing catholic school boy smiling in calm objection at that drum banging savage.

> kill mountain lion
WITH WHAT, YOUR BARE HANDS?
>yes

I seriously doubt a human could choke a bear, their neck and back muscles are just too big. Hitting a bear in the nose is about the only way to fight them off because it's the only part sensitive enough that puny human muscles can hit hard enough to cause pain. Except for the eyes of course, but eyes are small targets and most animals put a lot into protecting theirs.

I've heard that going for the nose only really works on black bears though. If a grizzly attacks you your only defense is basically to pray to god because grizzlies don't really back down once they decide who's for dinner.

Yeah, if you're going into an area with bears, bring a big gun. People have successfully fought them off, but a lot of people have also been unsuccessful.

Actually, that's a good policy anywhere there are dangerous animals. Sure, humans are dangerous enough unarmed, but weapons are how we took over this planet.

The lack of conflict in modern life makes people forget how tough humans can be. Thumbs and the mind of a killer go a long way.

We didn't get to the top of the heap by accident..... there's a reason a lot of animals have an instinctual fear of anything walking on two legs.

As for not wanting to be named, would YOU like PETA to bomb your social media profile for the next week and a half, calling you an animal abuser/killer? They'd do it.

Being a LOUD gun. Bears are tough enough that they can kill you and eat you in the process of bleeding to death. You want to scare them off, not fight. At least in my neck of the woods.
