Cinemassacre. one of the most popular channels on youtube, and it dates back to 2006.
the channel was created by James Rolfe and Mike Matei. two adults that run the channel that do alot of series of youtube videos.
Angry Video Game Nerd:
James Rolfe plays the role of a foul-mothed, f-bombing, basement dwelling nerd reviewing shitty games. its considered the most popular on the channel.
the theme song
and the remix:
You Know Whats Bullshit:
videos where james rants about things and how bad they can be.
James and Mike Mondays:
james and mike play things and try out games and gaming accessories.
Board James:
James plays the role of a guy talking about board games.
its one of the most popular channels of youtube. even other popular channels like jontron and the nostalgia critic said that he was an inspiration for their videos.
I thought he was going downhill or going to fade away but the last handful of AVGN videos have been a return to form. Monster Madness is great as well. Not a big fan of Mike Matei though. He's just too loud, crude and obnoxious for my tastes, so I don't really watch any of his videos or James and Mike Mondays.
I'll second that feeling of being old knowing I've been watching his stuff for over a decade now...
This guy was my childhood hero back in 07.
All his character ever did was drink and play games and yell fuck and shit all the time and made bank from it.

I wonder if i'll feel the same a decade and a half from now when i stumble on Jimbo's old vids again or Null's MOTI streams.
you know, if they ever get preserved LOL

I like James and Mike Mondays only because James is so chill and normal on them. He's a guy who's comfortable with his life and his success that he doesn't need to put on airs for the camera like all the other "professional" youtubers.
I love AVGN but I think I like the Board James and Monster Madness series even more. I'm glad he's not forcing either of them out, there was a period where AVGN started to slump and feel like it was going through the motions (which has since improved, and was always at least watchable).
"You Know What's Bullshit" was always good for a quick hit, too.
I'm not as big of a fan of their VHS review show but I'll keep checking it out. Sometimes it takes a while for something like that to hit its stride.
I actually thought AVGN was dead for a while, especially when he put more emphasis on his James and Mike Mondays series on the Cinemassacre channel. I've got to say though, his more recent review sure are better than what he's been pumping out while making the movie.

This guy was one of the original Youtube giants and was the inspiration for a lot of video game-related channels, I'm pretty sure he was the one who popularized the "retro video game reviewer" thing. Like the others here I was a big fan of him back in the day.
I haven't watched the most recent AVGN episodes but the last ones I saw (from 2016 I think?) felt a bit forced IMO. I personally think that James is tired of the AVGN character and wishes he could finally retire it but he can't cause its the whole reason he got popular in the first place and the fans would throw a fit. Maybe its the nostalgia talking, but the new ones just don't have the same "soul" and "charm" as the old ones, the new AVGN seems to be more whiny than angry. IMO the golden age was 2006-2010.
I don't have much to say about his other content like James & Mike Mondays cause I'm not into that kind of stuff.
I'm pleasantly surprised he's been around and still relevant for this long. His numbers may have barely grown but he seems to have maintained a steady million plus or so views per video.
I just downloaded the 2018 videos, and the only one I've seen so far, "The Town With No Name (CDTV) - Angry Video Game Nerd (Episode 163)" is solid. The ad at the start sure is annoying though. I agree with those who said that his 2016 output was poor.
I find myself enjoying Brad Jones and James Rolfe way more than the rest of the Channel Awesome review crew, minly because for all their faults and their ocassional dud videos, they both seem like they legitamately enjoy making videos. Unlike say Doug or Jimmy Russled Joaquín, who both most likely stopped caring in like 2012 and are only making videos out of desperation
