I think a lot of the reason people think Jace is fake is because he's really quite good on camera. He's got that x factor that makes him easy to watch. There's no self consciousness or self doubt that plague people with at least half a brain.

true - the only hint of self-doubt you ever get from him is easily hidden by lying to himself. Look at how he handled the realisation that Eli was stuck in Israel - after a brief period of worry he told himself it'd be ok and he forgot about it.
Also, I think the constant wearing of sunglasses is linked to his self-assuredness - a quick glance in the mirror can re-affirm his self-belief without the unpleasant reality (literally) catching his eye.

Yea, the sunglasses definitely give him more confidence than he would have without... especially considering the laziest eye problem.

I wonder if the meds he's on have anything to do with it. I don't know about antipsychotics but I know antidepressants tend to make people gain weight. Although considering how inconsistent he is with taking his meds it's more likely that his latest business venture has allowed him to choose junk food over Gail's home cooked dinners.

If Jace ever became totally financially independent he'd probably balloon up quite a bit from mashing snacks into fast food and calling it "gamer fuel".

The technical term for lazy eye is ambylopia. I believe it is possible to get treatment and surgery for it, but the process is fairly long and requires multiple methods of treatment at times. If it is true that he has lazy eye (again, no proof), then I kind of wonder why he wouldn't just get it fixed. It would be a lot easier for him if he just said "Yeah I do, but I'm getting it fixed" and perhaps then trolls would leave him alone.
