Apparently the original meme had to do with this basketball player who is six feet and seven inches in height. For whatever reason the mention of his height became a point of fixation, where a regular clip where someone would say "six seven" would suddenly cut to a tiktok edit about the player. Then some retard kid made a hand gesture and it mutated into its final form as the "deadest meme of all time".

It's possible there's a relationship there. Maybe the joke was that the basketball player's height of 6' 7" just so happened to correspond with some black man music.
I only know what I read on knowyourmeme and I only read it once and I don't care to refresh my memory.

It was a basketball player being asked about points or something and he was like "I got 6 or 7" and did the hands to show he wasn't really sure.
