Imagine if you will, if Nicola Tesla and a bunch of engineers/scientists who worked on the first electromotors, specifically induction motors, got together and tried to pitch their new invention to an investment firm or a council of scientists. And instead of naming off all of the actually, useful and practical uses of the electromotor would have in industry, household appliances, transport and production... They instead spent an hour incoherently screeching about how they can finally make motorized fleshlights or vibrating dildos that will shatter and revolutionize the sex lives of countless of people ohh something something insert buzzword here blah blah blah. And when the investment firm asked them to explain the underlying principles of the induction motor, Tesla and his pals would just shrug and go "idk man it just like lowky rotates and shieet I guess???". They would come off as rather silly and the investment firm would most likely rightfully brush them off.
This is mostly hyperbole on my part. The induction motor is one of the most important inventions humanity has ever created. It's a miracle of engineering and material sciences. It feels wrong to even compare it to something as benign and retarded as the current LLM jeetware.

I bring this up to say, notice how... simple the operating principles of an electromotor are? Electricity runs through wire --> wire creates magnetic field --> magnetic fields oppose --> motor shaft rotates. See how simple that is? You could probably sum it up even more, how about electricity go in --> rotation occurs? Anyone could understand this. Go up to a random blue collar construction worker that flunked out of high school and who operates a crane for a living and ask him how the electromotor powering his crane works, he will most likely state something similar to what I laid out. Go up to a random gypsy/crackhead that scraps copper for a living and ask him the same question, he will most likely also have a rudimentary idea about how an electromotor works. Ask anybody on the street how an electromotor works and they will state something to the effect of "black box that makes electricity do spin spin". Once again, a child could understand this.
But the same really can't be said about the new AI LLM hype. The people shilling for this shit have no fucking clue how any of it operates on a fundamental level. They just see it as this huge, eldritch black box designed by God that can do literally ANYTHING. From curing cancer, to defeating China. From colonizing mars, to upscaling video games. From stopping climate change, to generating anime futa hentai... It's truly limitless just how
vague and nebulous the promises are amazing and awesome this technology is! Truly sublime! Something something data? AI training? I guess? Well, who cares about understanding any of that! We are creating our very own neon God here people! We are building our tower of Babel out of silicon and plastic and once our tower scrapes the firmament of the sky then we will finally crack fully sentient AI and usher in the new technoutopia where every man and woman will be able to AI generate hentai on the go and live in prosperity!
