Can I keep him in my basement? I got a free coffin from a cemetery he can hang out in but I don't know if he'll get along with @OrionBalls or my free ducks from the park

Yes and no. You need to obtain his native soil and keep that in or near the coffin. Ideally, your vampire should (but not always) come with its own packet of its native soil. This is the one trick that most new vampire keepers dont account for. Happy vampire parenting!

Transylvania is closish to Turkey, so yes, Dracula does drink turk roach blood in his native habitat.
