Can we have a British thread with a British mod? It's tiresome when a flock of fake-edgy faggots rock up spouting redditisms, especially since most of the time it's just American nigger criticisms of white people stripped of their racial context.

the description from the french board...

Les lolcows sont des personnes et des communautés dont le comportement excentrique peut être « traité » à des fins de divertissement.

what you probably wanted to say is « trait » of the verb traire meaning to milk (a cow/an excentric behavior). traiter means to process/to deal with, not applicable here imo

can you just rewrite it in french bro
Les lolcows sont des personnes et des communautés dont le comportement excentrique peut être « trait » à des fins de divertissement.

edit : « exploité » could actually work better but you kinda lose the metaphor of the lolcow producing milk for our entertainment

I would like to learn more about a fat czech girl, I keep hearing people talking about her but have no idea who she is. I think the name is "sugar Denny" or something like that. Don't know anything more so not qualified to write an OP. Would be interested in reading one though.

Also an (anorexic?) girl called Shopaholic Adel. That one also exists, and I still have no idea who she is. Lolcows seem pretty popular in our culture, but I just do not keep up with internet drama enough to know what people are talking about when they tell me about it in the pub.

Recently, I have seen a few people on r/czechlinkedinlunatics (I browse reddit on the bus when I forget to take a book with me, bite me) complain about a Strejc family, from the little bit I've seen they do seem lol-worthy, I may try to find out more and write an OP on that.

One guy called me the best czech lolcow he's ever seen a few years back (I guess it was an insult, but I don't caare), I did enjoy doing retarded shit for the laughs back then. But I don't think I've left as much of an impact as he attributed to me. However, if anyone from memekolóra is here, I'd love to reminisce about the good old times. I wonder what happened to Pepa (gutan). I do not want to know what happened to Moršt (tipnul bych že je ve vězení za pedofilii). Also I'd love to talk to OneRage, but I'd be suprised if he still uses internet at all.

Also on the topic of internationalization, @Null, as you may have noticed, the ě character only works in upper case. I have no idea how to insert it in lowercase here - I think the forum itself does not support it.

I have also used the forum for long enough now that I know it is actually a pretty nice place and not some hate machine as the internet makes it out to be. You provide a valuable service to the community and I'd like to send you a little bit of money, but downloading 250 gigs of the monero blockchain just to send you some money seems excessive (and not currently possible) to me, can't I just send you a small silver brick or coin by post? If you still live in Serbia it shouldn't be that hard. I looked at the supporting the forum thread and it only refers to an american office for money cheques.

We have a custom font that is in a state of disrepair.

I don't think we have enough Chinese speakers. Would we even do Simplified or Trad?
I agree that you don't have enough Chinese users to warrant having a Chinese language board. I check frequently for any activity using Chinese and there is very little. If you did do one, I recommend you do traditional. From my experience, if someone is from the mainland, then they can read traditional easily, but the opposite is sometimes not the case, i.e. someone from Taiwan might find it annoying reading something in simplified.

I feel like people from Taiwan would be more culturally apt to discover and actually use your website, but then again the population of Taiwan is some 20 million compared to China's billion plus. Another thing is if a Chinese Lolcow became popular in the West, I feel like the ccp would discover it and stop them. I can't say the same thing would happen in Taiwan. Either way, I don't think there is a market to expand your website for Chinese users.

Any chance you'd be willing to implement the option to switch the font to OpenDyslexic?
I guarantee you'll be loved by Dyslectics.

(Aside: Using that font is how my wife found out she's dyslexic. Lol)

Mate I hate to break it to you but that font looks like ass. I would rather be illiterate than rely on that cancerous font.

It's not made to look good. It's made so certain parts of the letter are thicker, making it easier for people to distinguish between, for example, d and b.
Yeah, it looks ass, but that's what makes it work.

Also why I suggested it as an accessibility option, not as default

It's basically like not wanting smooth sandpaper. It's meant to be rough, that's why it works.

do the people that vote for Russian actually speak Russian or are they just voting for Russian hoping that we'll get some sort of vatnik war footage board
personally i would not be surprized if people from other sites would pull up since most central russian forums have their own lolcow sections counting also that lurkmore had special category for 'net and irl clowns

where the fuck is my french bossmanjack? I was promised a french bossmanjack

Considering how much Taiwan is under the thumb of DC, I'd actually consider Taiwan more likely to ban and attack Kiwi Farms.

Another thing is if a Chinese Lolcow became popular in the West, I feel like the ccp would discover it and stop them.
That's not how the CPC works. Their "surveillance state" is bored grandmas and shame culture, they just hype it up to spook the West.

[Chinese people like Traditional over Simplified]
For a sample, here's the Silksong Steam review language breakdown. You'll notice that there are 2056% more reviews in Simplified than Traditional. That would be impressive on it's own, but then you consider Steam isn't even fucking legal in China, you need a VPN to access it. Also, other than nostalgia-slop, most Steam games have nearly the same amount of reviews in Simplified Chinese than English. There is a massive demand among the Chinese for competent American websites, and they speak Simplified, not Traditional.

Maybe I should have been more direct before: there is no question on whether to use Simplified or Traditional for a Chinese board, you use Simplified, end of question. The only Traditional readers you would attract would likely be American college students anyway.

(Also, fun fact: The Chinese language has been evolving for some five millenia, "Traditional" is actually the third or fourth major iteration of Chinese written language. Another fun fact: written Chinese is directly derived from pictograms / cave paintings.)
