Obviously their words are important, but the avatar is like the cover of a book, you see it first and you get your initial impressions based on it be they right or wrong.

So for you, how much does an avatar influence your view on a user?

It's not tails anymore. He's been assimilated by a generic furry avatar. There is nothing. :cryblood:
Don't worry, he's just going on vacation.

Avatars are interesting to me as are usernames, even more so here on KF since if performing good OPSEC it is a secondary identity different than your already fabricated primary online self. I've considered making a thread to discuss it a few times. I personally prefer ones where name and avatar match, and if the avatar changes I like it when it keeps the same theme such as Pissmaster's or The Last Stand's. It dosen't actually effect my opinion overall - though a thoughtful combination probably predisposes me in a positive way.

For the most part it doesn’t.

I know to automatically ignore anything an anime avatar posts, because it’s guaranteed to be retarded.
And I know to be turned on disgusted by anyone with a furry avatar, because they’re degenerates of the worst kind who need to face the wall.

Other than that It doesn’t really do anything for me.
