💬 Off-Topic Hooves & Friends (Update 10/7/2015 PAGE 1)

This might take a while to kickoff, but for a while now I've been mulling over the idea. I've been wanting to practice drawing more cartoonishly styled people for a while now, and I find ADF and the people around him to be very "colorful". Inspired by the likes of @Trickie and @_blank_ , I'll be attempting to doodle up "Hooves & Friends"

It'll chronicle the adventures of an opressed , trans latinx, POC ("Hooves"). Character design is still in very early phases (I'm still trying to figure out proportions and style)but this is a rough colored doodle of what I'm envisioning the character to look like.

Of course, Hooves isn't alone in the world. She has friends and enemies. Here is a rough sketch of some of them. They don't have any official names yet...

1-) True and Honest POC: Nuff' said.

2-) Priviledged Scum: A total priviledged shitlord. Evil personified. He has the audacity to use public transportation. Other crimes include: Being white, male and employed. Hooves mortal enemy.

3-) Hooves' friends: : ) Super great pals that would never do anything bad to Hooves. Ever.

Things are still in development, but I figured that posting this might push me to work on it more. This is purely for fun. I don't know if my writing capabilities will be up to it, but we'll see! If anyone has any ideas or things they'd like to see, I'm always open to suggestions.
 
Oh Jesus, I'm excited about this already. :)

If there's a way Kylie or Kinny could be side-characters, that would be absolutely amazing.
 
Probably should include Robin. She's usually a plentiful source of asspats.
 
You know what? If there's both gonna be asspatters and IRL friends, then make this biting. Portray how slowly but surely his routinely breaching of boundaries make even the most tenacious of his friends eventually give up on him and are forced to burn bridges with him. Gander at how he progressively fucks up his life and body with his shitty tattoos and shitty health choices. Make this a comic strip about a man progressively isolating himself from society as a whole, fueled by his own delusions and the self-congratulatory encouragement of internet asspatters. If you're going to black comedy, make it so black not even light can escape. Only then this strip could do justice to how utterly amazing Hooves is as a lolcow.
 
I think a lot of the dialogue should be verbatim from their updates. Like if you're doing a short form comic strip version, I'd do the post with their replies verbatim

Just the other day I was thinking how fun a lolcow comic would be. Their adventures are already so outlandish it wouldn't take much tweaking, if at all, to have something great.

Maybe have flashbacks to his china days or his weird nertatu (That dumb orange ninja show) fetish. Or if he says something anti Semitic flashback to when he was obsessed with Israel.

Or please draw Christine beating the shit out of Phil's fake trans ass.

Love the character design, but Hooves needs more male pattern baldness for it to be a True and Honest depiction. Otherwise, great work!
 
I was gonna say the bottom two look like Jordman and Rika, but two of you beat me to it. Don't forget Kylie and his lady beard.

You could make a strip showing ADF in the foreground pigging out on food in the defunct commie cafe with a Junkie OD-ing in the background with John or whatever his name is having a shit fit about the cops coming in. ADF of course is oblivious or ignoring this and eating more food.

I don't know, Ahuviya and Company IRL is a living dark comedy (if not a bit depressing), would be nice to see something a bit more light hearted.

My only criticism here is that you were way too generous with Phil's hairline. You drew him with about twice as much hair as he actually has, this is merely True and Honest constructive criticism so that Hooves can be accurately portrayed as the balding freak that he really is.
