Honest thoughts on Hinduism?

Weird pajeet religion with elephant Gods who have enough arms to make machamp blush.
That being said, still rate it much MUCH higher than Pedo Muhammed cult.
A lot of things are better than a pedophile Prophet, so I feel like that's not a good metric to use.

To reply to the thread question, Hinduism in general has always given me a headache. I think certain ideas such as Enlightenment and path to reach it are kind of interesting, but the actual tenants are quite confusing to me. It strikes me as Protestantism given a more Oriental spin.

I don't know jack shit about Hinduism except for the fact that they believe in multiple Gods, reincarnation and that cows are sacred animals.
hinduism exists to make the dumbass caste system legitimate by saying IT'S THE COSMIC ORDER
Doesn't every other religion also legitimize its social order? E.g.: Christianity with its "turn the other cheek" as in: be obedient, don't try to change the system.

Proto-fascist and the Sage of Chelsea Thomas Carlyle called it Brahmin Lunacy. As a religion with ten thousand gods, I cannot help but be somewhat contemptuous of it.

Aside from Sartor Resartus, on Heroes and Hero Worship, he also wrote Shooting Niagra (an essay denouncing democracy) and another essay called the "Nigger Question" (It was originally entitled On the Occasional Discourse on the Negro Question but he changed in response to backlash).

I find it funny that people from Schopenhauer to Hitler were hinduboos. Don't know much about it but the karma and reincarnation cycle just sounds like you don't have a lot of free will.

Honest thoughts are that aspects of Hinduism, specifically the more highbred, philosophically-inclined, brahminical traditions of it (Vedanta in all its forms, etc), strike me as highly developed albeit imperfect forms of wisdom that are surprisingly close to the fullness of truth in Christianity as I see it. I can recognize that there is a genuine saintliness and devotion within that tradition, and those things, while directed towards a wrong end, are in and of themselves righteous. At the same time, there are aspects of Hinduism which are offputting and sinister, even within the more highly developed schools. Yoga, tantra, and so on, have this dark antinomianism inherent to them. It's demonic. Where similar perversions have happened in Christianity, it was always limited, and always heavily counteracted. In Hinduism, on the other hand, it's completely accepted and seen as valid. So mixed feelings I guess.
christianity doesn't set out a hierarchy like hinduism
It's not the same as in Hinduism, but the Christian tradition is overflowing with hierarchy. Oratores, laboratores, bellatores. You're going to find the same in anything that originates in the pre-modern period.

Nah, the caste system is complete shit and expands to the entire society forever. Medieval ages it was at least work related and you could apprentice to get a better lot in life, and that itself was eventually dissolved, and even encroacy neo fedualism isn't as bad as current Indian status quo (though it is pushed by Indians unsurprisingly).

There are some good things in there same with Buddhism. There are good people who are hindu. The only religion I find nothing of value in, which I find destroys the earth and should not exist, is Islam.

The art that has resulted from Hinduism is beautiful and I want to decorate the walls of my house with it... The people and their civilization, on the other hand... eh... Smells like poop, so no thanks, don't want that all over my walls.

Interesting religion, while I mostly care about it's vedic and pre-vedic roots and it's connection to the Proto-Indo-Europeans, I also find interesting how it was where Buddhism was made and it's influence on the Eastern Traditions.
Shame about it becoming a meme in recent years thanks to the explosion of pahjeets and the ignorant who dismiss it as "anime" since it came from the race of telemarketing scammers.

I've assumed from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom that Hinduism is based around the worship of glowing potatoes.
That sounds like Kiwi Farmers making a religion out of CIA Tardbabies.

I dislike it because of the elitist caste system and the fact that some Hindus bathe in cowshit. Hopefully India one day is converted to Islam, the true religion because its weirdly fucked up that the most Populus group of people on the planet are like this.
The one true religion that contradicts scientific reality, history and even itself. Hinduism is garbage, but somehow it isn't a joke religion made by an illiterate schizophrenic pedophile that had the descendants of his goons write down his holy book 200 years after he died, so it has that going for it.
