Considering that USA Today recently published an editorial that called Hispanic Trump supporters "not Latinos but white" what that line really means is anyone who voted for Trump is the enemy and since the enemy is all white people, they must all be destroyed, regrdless of color or ethnicity.
Yes, it makes absolutely no sense but that's the SJW mindset.

That article was something else. I feel like the guy who wrote it probably doesn't want to have to contemplate a future where Latinos are no longer a distinct ethnic minority in the US and so WaPo doesn't need a token Latino guy to write about their issues anymore.
Anyway, on the subject of HBO's Watchmen - the dialogue writing is really bad. So much so that I consider it unwatchable. I can only cringe so many times in an hour before I just turn off the TV completely.

Well, let's think about this.
Show depicts an America where the wealthiest and best-connected are still wypipo. Show depicts an America where cops are basically the American stasi. Warrantless arrest and detention, no Miranda rights, no habeas corpus, no due process, torture, and summary execution by anonymous cops. Show depicts an America where poor whites are actively being ghettofied.
But since this is all "racially just" we're expected to go along with it and cheer. No real criticism or examination of how truly fucked. So, what's the message here? Is it anything but "fascism's actually pretty cool if we're the ones in charge"? You're not sending much of a message at all about white supremacy, when you're creating a fictitious universe in which white supremacists' fears about government power and overreach, and white victimhood, are actually justified when you start thinking about what the implications of that universe really are.
Into which we're given...Hooded Justice is the kid from the Tulsa race riots. The one whose dad was a WWI vet, and brought home German propaganda challenging black troops to reconsider fighting for a country that hates them. Nothing in the show contradicts or retcons Hooded Justice being a Nazi sympathizer, so we're left assuming that's the case in this television show as well.
That leaves us to assume Will took that war propaganda to heart, and when Nazi Germany rose to power and started using that same propaganda to undermine America's moral authority and black Americans' opinions of their government, Will began to sympathize with the Nazis. So, what's the message here? Is it that Nazi Germany was morally superior to America for not having Jim Crow (just never mind they did, it just wasn't called Jim Crow)?
Then, we have Dr. Manhattan. The German-Jewish child of Nazi refugees turned superhero, who decided to come back to Earth after all and black up because he's a time traveling pedo.
If Lindelof weren't such a brain-dead hack, he'd be worthy of a standing ovation for tricking SJW's into unironically cheering for Nazism and blackface. Alas he is, and all of this commentary is completely unintentional.

Hispanic is an ethnicity, not a race so no matter how much the political establishment wants to treat them as a monolith, like blacks and Asians, they can't, hence that writer's sperging. His job depends on it so he's screwed no matter what.
Yeah the writing is bad, I just watch to see how awful it is (I'm never disappointed). I'm also wondering what Jeremy Iron's Veidt is going to do. Hopefully Dr M goes on another gook killing spree with Veidt as his sidekick. Or Laurie, either one works for me.

We sperg about "identity politics" on here a lot, but I think this captures an underappreciated point that, to this mindset, the mere act of being black/white/gay/straight/male/female is political, notwithstanding if you engage in the earmarked politics or not. You run into this belief everywhere: the conservatives on the Supreme Court being "a bunch of white guys," Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio not being really Hispanic, "there's not much Indian left in Bobby Jindal," etc. Given that White Man Bad is a core belief of SJWism, everyone they dislike can be understood as having the political identity of the Bad White Man regardless of whether or not they're actually white or a man. (There's all sorts of elaborate rationalizations to justify this, typically featuring "interalized blah" or "systematic woof" or whatever. We've all seen this before.)

Admittedly, I'm not concerned as much about his own identity, as I am the comedy and hypocrisy of the "fuck wypipo" camp uncritically cheering a Great White Hope because he's spoon-feeding them drivel they want to hear.
Let alone one who, as I pointed out earlier, seems to have crafted a piece of fiction so hamfisted, thoughtless, and superficial it goes full circle and ends up being accidentally pro-Nazi. I haven't even mentioned yet the show's propensity towards disappearing or retconning the wealth of Watchmen characters who actually are Jewish.

Speaking of jewish Watchmen, has anyone read the jewish re-imagination of watchmen... Watchmensch? A murder mystery where 6 jewish lawyers try to figure out who murdered one of them? Apparently it's a commentary on the relationship between Moore and DC comics. Is it any good?

I don't even know how to process this plot twist. I've only seen the trailer for this series but from this thread I don't think I could even hate-watch this show. How is this show not condemned universally as pure, concentrated racism juice?
That sounds like the sort of stupid, racially unaware idea Lindelhoff would come up with. Completely ignoring that "Black" is dozens of different ethnicities and sub-Saharan Africa is riddled with racisms. Bantu people's trying to wipe out Khoisan peoples, Kenyans fighting Somalis and ever on. But of course Progressives just see "Black". Don't seem to realise that "racism" isn't a property of being White.
