Literally what's the fucking point. The most interesting part of the OG Watchmen was Manhattan's struggle with his aquired autism lack of humanity.

He's in it supposedly (which is a mistake, in my opinion, he should never return to Earth). I don't really care about whether it's supposedly woke or not (although if they distill Rorschach down to white nationalism I'll be annoyed, and choosing white nationalism of all fucking issues as a successor to nukes is insane, there's tons of global societal issues to go with), I just want to know why this needed to be Watchmen. Nothing about it screams Watchmen. I'm genuinely not sure why it needs to exist and why they chose this brand instead of making their own.

So a story about a blue guy with the power of a god being manipulated by a businessman with a god complex somehow morphed into a show about two bickering women fighting southern rednecks.

Sounds absolutely nothing like Watchmen.

* Jean Smart, along with King and Irons, said that they all loved working on it and would happily do a second season. There is a scene where Laurie reminisces about Dr Manhattan

* 9 Episodes long. First will focus on Sister Night.

* Lindhoff says its coherent. It better fucking be.
