Less than a week for the release of this, and veeeeery few people are talking about it (as far as know).

In the meantime, a recap from the only guy who produces enjoyable content about ASOIAF:

The thing I fear the most? Those reaction videos recorded at a bar in the UK or Ireland will make a fully cringeworthy return.

Oh, and there's no release date for The Winds of Winter yet.

Última edición:
GOT went to shit after it overtook the books in season 5 and D&D could fully show everyone what fucking hacks they are.
This show has a few things going for it, mainly no D&D and it's based on a complete story so there's less things for HBO to fuck up.
That said, they absolutely will fuck it up (and arguably already have with their retarded casting choices).

Well... Ramin Djawadi is doing the score, so it's got that going for it, I guess.

I am not the kind to seethe about color-blind casting (usually), but can anyone here more familiar with the lore tel me why there would possibly be a black Valyrian? I might be assuming a lot because of the trailers but come on.

Everyone is slowly turning black now. Didn't you get the memo?

That one actress looks like fetal alcohol syndrome survivor, the rest of the stuff in the show looks goofy as fuck. Prequels are almost always a horrible idea.

It's not impossible but it's a massive stretch, especially when we're talking about noble houses. Black people in ASOIAF come from the Summer Isles which are extremely far away from Westeros and even more from Valyria, Valyrians generally view non-Valyrians as lesser (and this includes the Andals, who they tried to enslave and from whom most of the Westerosi noble houses descend from) and are autistic as fuck about their blood purity to the point of marrying their siblings, and while the Targaryens eventually married into Westerosi houses most cases were after they lost their dragons and the ones that weren't were because of political necessity and lack of available sibling or Valyrian matches.

The Velaryons themselves at this point in time were basically a Targaryen cadet branch and the go to when the Targs had no siblings to marry and they'd been doing this for generations, so if they were black then the mainline Targs would be too, which makes their casting choice a plot hole (and it also makes a plot point within the story that much more retardedly obvious).

I know they probably have some sort of diversity quota they need to fill but they picked the characters that make the least amount of sense to raceswap.

I assume the black Valyrian just had a black mother or father or something. They can't all inbreed. It will be interesting if it's not addressed. Where the whole notion of a very white family randomly having a black member suggesting that races don't exist in the world of GOT. There for making the need for racial representation pointless.

They’re trying to do what Breaking Bad did with Better Call Saul. Only issue (or real big issue) is that GoT was not only a big franchise, this is just a new and interesting spinoff that will not attract the same and original GoT fans that desperately watched the last season thinking it will be good.

Loyalty to branding is a real thing, and this spinoff will be a hit and a miss if this does not deliver.

This is not just a prequel to Game of Thrones. It is also a retcon of certain aspects of Game of Thrones and ASOIAF. They are changing the Others / White Walkers storyline in this show heavily. To try to undo the horrendous writing that the Others received in Game of Thrones. And will likely receive in the ASOIAF novels unless GRRM is willing to considerably change his current trajectory. They altered a great deal of scenes in this show to accommodate some additions to the lore that are questionable at best and hilarious at worst.

They are also using references to the Others and White Walkers to possibly set them up to return in the sequel series to Game of Thrones. So expect a massive amount of shoehorned and absurd references to the Others and White Walkers. And some truly cringe inducing lore for the series that will no doubt be ridiculed by fantasy fans who dislike ASOIAF. Praised by the hardcore GRRM and ASOIAF fans. And incredulously received and misunderstood by casuals.

If this show is successful we will get a sequel where Jon Snow goes fully North into the Land of Always Winter and fights more White Walkers. Scripts of House of the Dragons season one are leaked online but HBO is vigorously going after anyone posting them. Freefolk on reddit is being heavily moderated and censored right now. That discussion group will likely be run by new people when the show premiers to stop them from trashing the show similar to how The Boys reddit was nearly destroyed by new mods.

While I'm not super hyped for this, I do hope HOTD beats the horrid piece of shit that is The Rings of Power.

Hilarious and sad at the same time. Wasn't that the subreddit that sprang up because the asoiaf and got subs were being run with an iron fist?
Yep it is. As usual with Reddit any subreddit that gains tractions will be infiltrated and taken over by people who are sucking up to whatever corp or interest its covering.

TL;DR: Any spin off show is going to be shit, and you all know it.

I read all his books in a huge binge back when dance just came out,
and he would get randomly horny and then write the most grotesques old-man fetish bullshit;
I don't consider him a good writer or good story teller just a fking horny old POS.

He's a creepy dude, and his story was only interesting because he would axe main characters.

Read Patrick Rothfuss he can actually write and protagonist--Kvothe goes hard as fuck (no homo).

Fuck dragons and fuck anyone that watches the shit show that's just 80% softcore porn 1% book 9% directors 'ideas'

Thankfully in the books I could just skip CHAPTERS worth of him jerking off by writing erotic fan fic of his OWN characters.
Dumb, old ,retarded, horny man I hope he dies before the series finishes just to ass fuck any remaining fans of his trite "writings"

George helped write Elden Ring lore? He added incest family plot lines and did fuck all with a chance that would have immortalized him.

As it stands, unless his finishing book makes his audience collectively cum he's going to be a washed fiction writer with a brief show.
