I've been addicted since they started stocking it in stores near me this year, though we only get the black package out here. It's apparently a korean take on Ramen which is probably why it's spicy, but honestly the ones I get could stand to be a bit spicier. Definitely warms me up on cold days though.

at least it's honest with you

Shin Black is pretty good if i'm feeling too good about myself and need a humbling, nothing like your taste buds being on fire to remind you of your place in the world
It's also really fucking good with an egg and some scallions

Indomie, shin, and samyang are the best instant ramen in the world. The only issue I have is serving size so I typically buy some cheap chow mein or egg noodles to boil with it. Throw in some frozen veggies, sliced hot dogs, top with an egg. You can eat like a fatass.
The best samyang flavour if you can't handle spicy shit is the carbonara flavour. Black bean is great though if you love spicy shit.

Siyuan is the best ramen in the world (Heian SMT Foods Co). Generally, Chinese is better than Worst Korean.

left: "purple" (beef and pickled vegetables) (ultra spicy)
right: "yellow" (thick beef stock) (not too spicy)
(there's also a red one, inbetween)
(eating the purple one rn, it's delicious, they all are)

Ordered the quatro cheese thing, it looks like it'll be delicious :)

Ain't heard of that one before, but I'm gonna try anything as long as it tastes good.
Just had the Quattro cheese for the first time. Pleasant but a good amount of chili oil made the cheese a subtler part of it. Adjust how much you put in from the liquid packet if you want the cheese more forward I'd say.

I've found Shin ramen cups and packets solid as well. Gonna grab some Shin and another type of Buldak next time I drop by the grocery store.

If you're buying maruchan ramen and don't have a lot of scrap, I usually go for Top Ramen; though that ramen's soup base has changed (no msg) which I usually add back in with either MSG or soy sauce. Sapporo Ichiban is also a great one if you can find it local. Don't know about the other premium ramens outside of Shin Black; I don't like to ship food to myself if I can.

Hate how Maruchan ramen tastes, but it's better than any product I've tried (top nissian etc). Still it tastes lifeless all together.

Anything a broke lad could try for cheap? (:_(
Nigga you're making it wrong. Listen carefully.
If you have a stove, go to it. Put the waxy ass noodles in a saucepan barely bigger than the processed noodle brick. Put just enough water in it to float the bitches a lil bit.
Put the burner on high and bring to a rolling boil. Poke tentatively with a fork until the noodles no longer stick together at all. At this time, quickly remove and drain all but 1/4 cup of water from the noodles. Season with the weird aluminum chicken packet, chili powder, and cayenne pepper in a 2: 1:1 ratio.
Stir and eat before it cools and sticks together. 10/10

Alternatively if you are having to eat rame to get by get some Tom Kha paste and add it to the water instead of the packet that comes with the ramen. It tastes 10x better than the powdered stuff. Tom yum paste works too.

If you are feeling brave there is two very popular brands in Vietnam that you can get off of Amazon that only people that lived in Vietnam know about.

Omachi

This is the premium brand. Comes in 3 different flavors. Pork, hot & sour shrimp, beef. I like the beef. They like pork. Despite it being the "premium" brand the cost is still under $2 a pack on Amazon.

Hao Hao

This is the most popular and cheap noodle in Vietnam. It comes in spicy shrimp flavor. Do it as a soup or you can drain the water, add half the spice pack and some scrambled eggs. It's under $1 a bag on Amazon and the Vietnamese I know were shocked at how expensive it was online.

And with both of these, you boil the water then put it on top of the noodles. Don't be a retard and try to boil these in a pot like American noodles.

Thank you everyone for the suggestions, I really appreciate it.

Pretty cheep actually now that I think about it. Maybe I'll just go with pasta all together.

You could always buy in a higher quality basic noodle and just add your own soup stock. Would be the sand prep time if the stock is powder form.

Years ago after eating nothing but Maruchan/Nissin for a while I switched to spaghetti and jars of sauce and it was a crazy difference. I could feel the strength from consuming the relatively nutritious food.

Nongshim all the way for ramen and get the packages not the bowls/cups and add veg, eggs, meat etc.

If you have a 99 ranch near you it's worth checking out the chinese ramen brands they stock.

I had a friend swear by Sapporo but honestly? A combo of soy sauce, sesame oil and hot sauce makes any trashy noodles taste decent, you can always just dig through the dark aisle at the corner in asian stores for mixed sauces the ones ones that include a ton of different shit like rice vinegar and chilli oil and soy sauce and oyster sauce and such and add a little of it to your soup
