Look at the left shoulder pad. I think Locke just got confirmed KIA.

Also sad that 343 didnt even create the banished, Creative assembly did.
There's rumors they were going to continue the retarded Evil Cortana/Prometheans storyline, but once they saw how popular the Banished were in HW2, they dropped their plans and went with this new angle instead.

Pretty much all of 343's own villains have been failures, either because no one knew who the hell they were or because they were just lame.

Probably either killed or just got the shit kicked out of him. Considering Atriox completely ragdolled three Spartan 2s simultaneously, Locke shouldn't have been much of a problem for him.

Alien looking armor on actual aliens makes sense... I'm gravitating towards Accord. Looks better when the Sangheili wearing these don't look like downs syndrome.

Per this video, here's the full list of customization content planned for season 7 that's in the flight so far:
  • Halo CE: Five new Warthog skins, five new rocket Warthog skins, some of which are repeats of Halo 3 skins
  • Halo 3: Nine new tinted techsuit options for Spartans, six complete Elite armor sets from Halo Online (including arm and leg options), seven new Energy Sword skins
  • Halo 4: Four armor sets from the Champions bundle, all Halo Reach armor effects ported to 4, sixteen weapon skins (five from MacFarlane Toys, eleven that were never released for 4; the video is missing the PIXEL DMR skin)
Per this Reddit post, there are also new nameplates as you'd expect, both animated and static. I'm particularly fond of the Mister Chief Arbiter nameplate.

I'm disappointed that neither Halo 2 game is getting any customization love yet, but at least they haven't totally abandoned games other than 3. 4 looks like it'll be complete after this season, with everything not previously released being added, and the addition of Reach's armor effects was a surprise. Wonder if those will end up making their way to 3 as well.

Aside from that, the flight's got updates for the Waterfall and Edge maps (that I haven't seen a video on yet), as well as the improved graphics for CE that look to revert some of the original Gearbox port's errors. Definitely looking a lot better.

Oh man, the Mark V looks awesome, I can't believe it took them this long to add it in for 4.

If they're going to do some more 4 content, I hope that the original techsuit design is on the table.

And for the love of god 343, show 2 some love already. It can stand to have some more customization options.

Halo 2A customization should bring over the Mark V from Halo 4, with some tweaks to make it look more like a prototype.

Do they still make Halo?
No, they haven't made new proper Halo games since 4. Everything else after 4 was just CoD with Halo characteristics or reskins of the original games, outside of Halo Wars 2.

Looks like those MCC Elite armors and sword skins are coming. They look... fine, I guess, none of them outright repulse me like some of those Spartan armors.

Art of Wort
The Elite armors are interesting, but the blades are just different colors. No different blade designs or hilts.

Also, it's kinda sad how Spartan armor customization fell from the days of Halo Reach where it used to be great.

I used to be a huge Halo lore nut and I still am to an extent, but ever since Halo 4 the lore isn't fun to follow or exciting to learn about. It turned into a huge clusterfuck of bullshit that doesn't make any sense or is just plain stupid.

I think the concept of the lore is really cool and the reason why it somewhat works IMO is how Bungie handled the lore, they intentionally left some of the plot vague and mysterious because they knew if they expanded on a lot of stuff it would fall apart.

343 didn't understand this and looked at the main problem of Halo and said "lets spread what little is here and try to make a story out of it" whats the biggest problem in Halo? The Forerunners. The Forerunners where never ment to be explained or expanded on, they where a means to an end, plot convince, and to patch up plot holes.

Halo's lore is at its best when its isolated and taken in small doses, Its completely fucking retarded on a larger scale. Halo right now is in the same boat as star wars, its creatively bankrupt maybe to a further extent than star wars. There is only so much Master Chief, Covenant, Halo left, if there was much to begin with. Halo is narratively on its last legs, the story's elasticity is at its snapping point and in my opinion it snapped a long time ago.

As I said before, Halo's present lore is overburdened and it's impossible to continue it now since Halo 5 left such a bad taste in people's mouths. God knows what direction Halo Infinite will take the lore to, I wouldn't be surprised if they eschewed story altogether and just went with Chief fighting Brutes for no real reason outside of "MONKEYZ BAD!"

Bungie left enough in the lore to mystify audiences, and made some vague religious allusions, but in the end, they left enough so that people can make up their own stories to fit in between the lines and figure what happened afterwards. You notice this with the Bungie-era Halo Lore which you can still pretty much take in without explaining EVERYTHING about the Forerunners, the Covenant, etcetera. The lore was deep enough to be interesting, but not too deep as to weird people out.

Then 343's books came in, with the Kilo Five Trilogy, the Forerunner Trilogy, and all those other books, as well as Halos 4 and 5, and suddenly, what was once a beautiful mystery is now laid bare as just another bare-bones sci-fi series full of cliches and bad writing. Especially since they let Karen Traviss write a good chunk of the post-Halo 3 lore.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: that woman should be kept out of any sci-fi series not named Warhammer 40K. Because unlike that particular series, Halo actually has a canon to adhere to. And the fact that Traviss tried to bring her hatred of Catherine Halsey into Halo canon essentially damaged it permanently. Especially since Traviss tried to make ONI morally superior to her, when they're to blame for everything wrong with the Spartan-2 Program, (since they were the ones FUCKING KIDNAPPING KIDS) while Catherine Halsey merely worked on it and she was the only reason it had some measure of success.

And of course, what they did with the Forerunners is bullshit. The original tragedy of the human-Covenant war was that the Covenant are striking at their gods without even knowing it. They worship the Forerunners, the humans ARE descendants of the Forerunners who are explained away as technologically-advanced humans from the past, and the Covvie leaders tried to keep this from the public because they'd lose all power if the truth ever comes out. But now, after the Forerunner Trilogy and Halo 4, the Prophet of Truth was telling the truth; Forerunners and humans were enemies, and yes, the last living Forerunner wants humanity gone, so Truth is right in saying that their gods want mankind dead.

Troons will be Troons and copy, pirate, or outright steal someone else's ideas while either claiming it was theirs all along while refusing to innovate or create their own.

Meanwhile they shut down the pitch of Creative assembly when they proposed a space to ground pitch of HW3 right after awakening the nightmare (banished vs flood campaign) shipped in one of the most scummy "season pass that supposedly includes all the DLC" moves that would be expected out of EA, not Microsoft.

ATN was not included in the season pass of HW2 and is the only DLC worth getting besides a specific leader or two that you want to play.

( The Colossus is probably another idea 343 will steal for infinite and the battered gamer syndrome retards in the "OMG MCC IS GETTING FIXED" videos above, will claim 343 created it and silence anyone else disproving their narrative and rampant flood-like sperging.)

CA also reintroduced the flood into the halo universe again. As much as I hate the halo 4 marine design and overall cartoonish look of HW2 gameplay vs HW1, it succeeded and was a overall great sequel that was not even remotely as buggy or broken at launch as anything 343i has ever touched or made.

Though they never explained how Red team went from MK IV to MK VI mjolnir armor since they were in cryo sleep without comms for 20 years.

Still funny how CA did in less than 3 years, what 343i could not and will not do in about 10.
They even had a nod to Halo: Legends with SGT johnson's leader unit being him in the Prototype suit.

Hoo boy. 343 knows people are coming into this with a lot of doubts. Let's cross out fingers that we get enough promising content to hold us over until release.

I'm gonna predict we'll see multiplayer gameplay front and center (hopefully not in the form of a scripted on-stage performance like past E3's). On top of that, maybe a LITTLE forge and campaign, and hopefully some info about a beta test.

The last thing I want to see is a documentary of 343 employees talking about how passionate they are and how they LOVE Halo, but that's probably inevitable with this company.

While the random planet making up the lower part of the design could be Halo related, I'm leaning more towards it pointing to Bethesda finally revealing Starfield after announcing it three years ago. It's interesting how the bulk of the teaser image (and the only easily recognizable franchise) is Halo, with a Mark VII Spartan front and center and easily-identifiable Reach armors behind. Looks like 343 wasn't kidding about returning to Bungie's aesthetics.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed for a good show. After not caring much about Halo for the better part of the last decade, the MCC's PC release has gotten me engaged again. On the bright side, they'd have to really fuck up to do worse than last year, and from the glimpses we've seen over the past few months, that doesn't seem too likely.

Speaking of, new Inside Infinite tomorrow, supposed to be about the new Waypoint and updated website features. Probably won't be a lot of new gameplay info, but Waypoint is definitely in need of an update. As for MCC, I don't think there's any info on when season 7 is supposed to release yet, but probably in a couple weeks or so since flighting is still going on.

On a final note, Postums sent out a call on Twitter on Monday for feedback on what players would like to see fixed in Halo 2, and he's passing that along to the devs to look into what's feasible. The biggest issues he noted were hit registration, audio mixing, lighting, tick rate issues, and game performance and stability. It's possible a Halo 2-focused season might be in the works, but obviously nothing's confirmed yet.

Yeah it's Starfield, that and Infinite are gonna be the main two games there.

I heard a rumor they're gonna focus on campaign again and just tease multi. Kinda hope that's not true, they really need to get the ball rolling on betas/flights cuz there ain't exactly a ton of time til release (assuming it doesn't get delayed again...)

What the hell's that weapon the upper right Spartan is holding?

The glow at the end looks similar to the light rifle, but the body looks more like Covenant/Banished design.

Eva [C] and Scout is obvious, but what's the second from left? It looks like CQC with the CBRN.

I hope if they're fixing up Halo 2 they'll finally fix the NVIDIA classic graphics buds, like the missing plants and sun on Cairo Station.
