I think im having a hard time understanding what they mean when they say a Microsoft account is required because they want to track progression?
What progression is there to track? It’s a campaign-only game. It’s not like there’s a ranking system.
Achievements and stats on halo waypoint.

It's possible that things like Skulls are tracked solely through Xbox achievements. Yes they are that retarded.
 
I never said it was acceptable, I just found it entirely unsurprising.

Also, how many people in this thread are even going to play it? It seems like the consensus here is that 343 Halo has been failure after failure. An overused quote about insanity comes to mind.
I will be using anonymized goytube (because giving them your metrics is giving them cash) to watch the prequel levels from whatever sloptoobr is least annoying, mostly just to raise the ol' blood pressure when they fuck it up. It's a shame that like the oblivion jeetmake it will make a tidy profit probably resulting in them trying with a halo 2 remake remake because modern goymers will buy almost anything, I was honestly surprised that concord failed the way it did given the amount of slop people happily consume.
Why do I need two separate accounts to play splitscreen? Probably because jeets need the data to sell because its the only way they can make money, but its absolutely insane that both players need accounts to play splitscreen.

Why the heck do the insist on using their stupid elite redesigns? H2A was kinda peak in that regard, why go back to them again? Or Reach. I like Reach a lot.
But it's funny that the Blur intro used the old designs for the Halo 5 arbiter, while halo 5 itself used the new one with the ugly faces.

Anyway, I played Halo 4 again recently. I don't like the weapon sounds and the lack of a damage indicator on enemies. They have no bass to them. I hated fighting the Prometheans because every weapon felt like Airsoft guns on them, and their stupid revive mechanic is annoying.
I also don't like the shaders they used for metal. Makes everything look like plastic for some reason. I like the environments of the levels, but it was clear that the devs ran out of ideas at the end. The didact's ship and the tower interiors of Requiem look really busy to the eye and rushed. It was also strange that the Infinity was treated like people already know it. Its like 343 tried to make it this new constant running through the series. Only for it to be put in the background during 5 and lazily removed in Infinite. Shame. I liked the forward until dawn videos.

Halo 5 changed the art direction even more, so it's not even consistent with 4. I would not call the games ugly (except Infinite), but it's inconsistent. I own the art book for Halo 4 and it's like they threw all the design ideas from that out of the window for the next game.
The story sucked, the trailers lied about the premise, and the game forced you to play in garbage AI co-op mode. Making Cortana the villain was dog shit. Making it a faux conflict about AIs was garbage. The Cortana Simp boss you are forced to fight multiple times is boring. The guardians are stupid.

Then in infinite, they shit the bed and cuck out on their own story and they give you a fake Cortana. The story is somehow worse and more boring than 5s and most of it happens before you even start the game, including real Cortana dying and the infinity being destroyed. Wtf?
They completely reversed on their art design, discarding what they tried to build over the previous years. The open world is lame and ugly. They somehow thought spamming hexagon pillars everywhere looks good. You cannot replay missions. They use invisible walls to prevent you from leaving your current sky Island. The final boss is generic, and the arena spams you with sentinel guns so it's easy AF.

It is clear they have no idea how to create a conflict on the same level of the original trilogy with the Covernant gone. The AI's are lame, and the Banished feel forced.
You know what you do when you are told to continue a story that has wrapped up? At best you can do what 4 did and try to wrap up the hint given after the legendary ending of 3. But what you should do is prequels, or side stories like ODST. Not saying 343 would have made them good, but then they would not need to reinvent the big bad every damn game.

The best part though about all of this is the dev message at the end of Halo 4. Where they thank you for being with them at this first step on their journey. I did not remember that, so it gave me a good chuckle. Maybe if they rename themselves again they can make a good game.

God they suck.
 
343 is worse than just sucking. They're vile and actively kill Halo every moment it's in their hands. Retards still sweep for them and chalk it up to modern gaming and Microsoft instead of seeing how both are dogshit who don't deserve the IP.

Halo ended with Bungie's final Reach message and it stayed that way in my Dad's old halo 3 themed Xbox 360 till the red ring came.

I wouldn't mind saving some money if and when they fuck it up again.
Dude it's a worse remake of a remastered game with even less features than the previous versions of Halo CE. Just pirate one of those versions and play it. Don't give 343 your money at ALL, for this shit or anything else.

As seen with the new Ring which is, like with other Forerunner tech in 343 games, slathered with blue lights and pointless greebles that really mess with the scale and make it look smaller than before, there's too much "dregs of Artstation" style design in general in these games in general.

Because Halo is an outsourced IP for development, at least starting with MCC and Infinite but Microsoft won't give it to competent developers just random jeets and art station cal arts queers.

If only it was given to ID Software in its 2016-2020 heyday. Halo would be gorgeous in iD tech 7.

I don't care if xbox as a whole dies, fuck microsoft fuck all their IPs and their development studios, it's all rotten down the core.
No. It'll underperform in the sales and Microsoft might lay off some of their remaining employees but overall they're going to keep milking this cow until it's nothing but dust.

Funny again how the ring from H2A looks the most convincing out of the 343 version because it just has less petrusions and false detail, increasing the sense of scale.

Sometimes I wonder that they haven't made the planets look like Mario Galaxy stages. The only thing missing are triny floating structures everywhere. I know 343 loved these when making 5. I still cannot believe the design for the Warden was approved as it is now.

H2A fucked up the art direction of the original game too. Especially in the covenant segments.

But even the skyboxes were raped. I couldn't bother playing in anniversary graphics.

Lighting can be flatter especially in the high charity building you go into. Sometimes it has less color, less everything. It's just a halo 4 mod. The Blur cutscenes can also go fuck themselves. Photorealism FMVs don't beat real time cutscenes the original had.

The first level speaks the difference the most. It's way too busy and over designed like everything 343 touches.

Just because it's a more faithful looking remaster than CEA doesn't make it a good remaster. Chief's armor is also plastic and less GREEN looking for some reason in their engine. Every time 343 touch Chief, they make him a drab olive green or a dark forest green for 4 and 5, and it's dogshit.

They fucked up 90 percent of the skyboxes.

There's plenty of prequel stories you could have created with Halo halves, even side stories. That you could have done. With the favorite squads. Even Master Chief and Blue Team's early. Missions. The Insurrectionists.
Instead, they just get a bunch of random nonsense and have changed the villain three times in four games. They're truly out of ideas.
Also the bandish being this massive threat. Is stupid. I also find it funny that the only good villain they could somewhat come up with wasn't even created by 343. It was created by the other studio Who Walks on Halo Wars, which they refuse to do another game because it didn't sell well. Well, that may be true, but at least Halo Wars is faithful to the overall plot of the series. In great own independent story not based on the same main characters.
