Agreed. I could take all of that in face value within GTA itself being a satirized vision of American culture. Miami itself, on top of American society NOW unfortunately, has a sizable African-American, Hispanic population. That's another discussion itself that I do not wish to get into here.
I imagine GTA6 ending up the way it will be alongside the whole "you vvill pay $80 to play the game digital-only and $100 to have it complete" thing (On top of whatever horrors is in GTAO2 that Rockstar is going to make people pay for) is going to be the logical endpoint for what gaming has become within the last almost 30 years now, all of those facets between how woke it'll be, the digital only, and so much more being things that the gaming populace had a chance to actually prevent had they actually stuck to thier guns and actually fought back. Every time something that would negatively affect the industry, let alone something that people would spark protests and boycotts for came around, you often saw people shaking thier fists and decry how they wouldn't fall for it this time and how the corporations pushing it were evil... only for it to become yet another common practice in the industry because the average joe and a large swath of the people who did complain ended up buying it anyways.
Ironically, you might have hit the nail on the head to the other half of the discussion that isn't attempting to have a level-headed approach. as quite a concerning amount of people on social media, other fourms, and even here do have this mentality of "Well I'm doing x, emulating y, and pirating z, and I'm superior for it" when it comes to gaming nowadays, discounting the fact that no, they're not special for doing the same thing children used to do at age 7 back when the internet was good enough for them to do that or having an arsenal of floppy disks or CDs to copy games to from thier friends sharing it to them. I feel this will eventually lead into a company that is very sue happy to take an emulation dev to court and win in part because of the people bragging how they got the game for free and were emulating the game at a better everything than the console it was made for instead of keeping it to themselves and not advertising where they got the ROMs from, causing any non-commercial and company-sanctioned emulation scene to collapse overnight if it doesn't revert back to the reletive secracy of the 80s and 90s, and god forbid what would happen to actual piracy websites if that kind of ruling happened to them.
Funny you say that, the Star Wars community of all people were most vocal with how Star Wars Battlefront II included predatory lootboxes that throttled progression into extensive grinding. So, it's not impossible for public outcry and backlash to enact change.
Thank you. I don't even think that half of the discussion cares about the state of gaming insomuch that they just create outrage and preach superiority from their soapbox. There's an anti-woke thread that outlines content creators that speak out about "modern gaming" yet they themselves are susceptible to bad practices like grifting and suppression of expression, to say the least. Basically, they take concern and turn it into clout and attention for THEM.

GTA will still be around, if Leslie Benzies' comment of "having 45 years worth of ideas" is anything to go by. However, GTA V onwards has proved that people will want and expect more from Rockstar. I think GTA VI will be that ceiling to where any significant improvements or advancements would have diminishing returns. The inevitable PC port would be that next logical step.
No lie, it'd be a fitting ending. I started gaming from GTA, and now my experiences would "end" with GTA. I cannot see myself forgoing gaming entirely, but the excitement of opening a new console, waiting for new games, playing said games and reliving those experiences has gone away.
Nothing about this release seems rational at all, a lot about this release sounds like a financial boondoggle;
