Is the concept of waiting so alien to people that it's inconceivable to wait a year or two? I've waited 13+ years, I can wait two more to get a free game.

By the time of the release it'll have been 13 years since V, I think interested parties are sort of done with waiting at this point

With that kind of a budget how many copies they have to sell to break even?
I've seen claims that they've spend anywhere from 1 billion to 2 billion on the game. The game itself costs $80 or $100, depending on the edition. If I'd assume that 100% of the price goes to Rockstar (just to make estimating easier) then in the best case scenario (1 billion, everyone spends $100) they'd need 10 million sales. If I assume the worst (2 billion, everyone buys the standard $80 edition) they need ~32 million copies sold. If I meet both these variables in the middle (1.5 billion budget, $90 average sale) it becomes more like ~17 million copies.
The worst case scenario is especially interesting because there are around 93 million PS5s out in the wild and 35 million current-get Xboxes, which means they need to effectively capture around 25% of the current console market. It will be pretty interesting to see how it will go down.
For the record, GTA V sold 11 million shortly after release and had a budget of $265 million. If I do the estimate the same way I did for GTA VI it means they needed ~4.5 million copies sold to break even.

Refraction on the glass is neat but the hair clipping through it in a promo shot?
caustics and clipping.png
This wouldn't have happened with the housers.

So, how many people will Rockstar piss off when holiday 2027 comes and they release the all in edition of GTA6 for 40 bucks with everything in the ultimate edition included?
don't know, don't care and they deserve it for being niggercattle, i wonder if timmy tencent will try to give out the online version on epic store.

Mark my words, this game could be the biggest pile of shit known to man and it will still make its entire budget back in like a week. Maybe even 2-3 days.

GTA is singlehandedly the reason why every fucking studio these days is incapable of producing a solid AA title in a couple of years, they're chasing the ultra hype train to make billions but forget that it's only the biggest names that can make that happen.

Did he already declare that he's going to spend 100 dollars on this game because OOGA BOOGA BOOBIES AND BUTTS ON MUTT LATINA!? If not, guarantee he will, he is the target audience for this nickel and diming, digital only bullshit.

just bought grand thieft auto six (6) ultimate edition. seethe fags
Non-white ESL double digit porn addicts are so predictable. Well, there you go folks, this game will sell simply because the target audience is too stupid NOT to give R* money! Not like there is anything to be proud of here, admitting you own a 9th gen console is like admitting you like shitting yourself and pay $100 to have people wipe your ass for you, not the own you think it is(unless your name is Andy Ditch). Hope the boobs will be worth it, because everyone knows you only spend money on this game to play it one handed(just like with KCD2 and Gothic demastered).
Have fun pirating a game which will be console exclusive for likely a year.
Honestly, I am not even sure that this game WILL be worth pirating. GTA V was mediocre at best, I can't imagine why people like it so much when Vice City and San Andreas exist.
People ITT really sweep for T2 in Current Year +10 over a game that has announced it will attempt to price them out of fully playing it, hasn't shown a single bit of gameplay, and might not even release on their platform.

Every black and brown guy I know won't buy this game on principle, yet you literal sub-niggers are sapient enough to say a shitty trailer and a box art announcement is worth 80+ dollars. Your handlers should euthanize you instead of posting on your behalf.
Hey, don't be mean or @Green Man is going to cry/write you a snarky reddit reply about how he is totally not mad that people are making fun of his favorite game! You would think the fanbase of a game about gangsters doing crime shit wouldn't be sobbing little pussies, but here we are.
I’m sure that’s just a placeholder. No way in hell that one game would be 700 GBs.
Oh, you sweet summer child. COD games take an entire hard drive worth of space and they are online shooters with a linear campaign, 700GB will be the START and then we will quickly see it bloat up in size as DLC/Online 2 drops. Hope you have an entire SSD dedicated to this game when it comes out on PC!
You know what would be funny? If all the features locked behind the most expensive version, comes on the base game for PC.
I mean, obviously, plus mods. Still, as I said above, this time around with how unoptimized and bloated the game will be, playing it on a brick with no other games might be preferable, simply because it won't take up nearly 700GB(and counting as the time goes on) of your hard drive space. Not like you have anything else to play on a PS5 or Xbox Series X, anyways.

The game looks good, sure, maybe even the best graphics I’ve ever seen in a game, but does anyone really think the whole package is gonna be worth it? It’ll be a slight step-up of Red Dead 2’s controls (loved that game but the movement is so sluggish), and a generic love story where they commit crimes, betray each other then have to pull off a big heist at the end. I just don’t see anything here to make me think DAY 1 PURCHASE…

I just remembered another apples to apples point with this $80/$100 price point.

GTA IV released in 2008 with two editions available for purchase for $60/$80 respectively. The $60 version was the game disc, an instruction manual and a paper map of Liberty City. What did the $80 "special edition" include for $20 more?

Ver archivo adjunto 9187583

An art book, a curated CD soundtrack featuring songs included in IV, a branded safety deposit box, a branded duffel bag, a special keychain, and of course the game proper.

All of that being tangible extras for fans or collectors that did not compromise the literal game itself. Compare this with GTA VI's base edition of $80 that is A) digital only, B) segmented key features to sell for $20 extra.
What a stupid, [r-slurred] argument.

You posted what came with the Special Edition. It was priced at $89.99, which is $30 more than the base edition. NOT 20 dollars more.

It was the only other edition besides the standard version. And it is directly comparable, both in terms of content and price, to GTA V's Collector's Edition, which retailed for $149.99.

IN 2026 DOLLARS, GTA IV SPECIAL EDITION WOULD'VE COST $140.07

Seems like an appropriate amount of stuff for that price. I'm sure the Collector's Edition of GTA VI will come with a keychain too.

Última edición:
In the land of browns, the spic who can waste 100 bucks is king.
👏🏿 👏🏿 👏🏿

Apparently, rumors are that this game will be huge, so the lack of a physical disk(s) is understandable.
Now, the question is, are those ~700 GBs actual content or is it just jeet bloat?
And in case people didn't know.

Makes sense why @El Chacal De La Trompeta is doing such full throated support.
Brown solidarity.
The balldurs gate 3 thread is that way, homo

There are people in this thread who spend over $100 to play a nigger simulator on their useless 9th gen brick, only because the screenshots showed some half naked disgusting apes they jerked themselves off to
lol, lmfao even. I am so glad I barely even pay attention to new releases, the IQ of people who get excited for them(let alone pay for them) speaks for itself. Vice City is 24 years old and it's still good enough for me.

Who gives a shit about inflation faggot, video games have not only not gotten significantly better to justify increasing the price, as a whole they've largely gotten worse. Rockstar spending a billion dollars so they can have 8k textures of fat rolls on niggers in a murder and driving simulator doesn't just justify a $80 price tag let alone $100 when I already own the last murder and driving simulator.

The only thing that worries me is where Take-Two's greed draws the line. The fact that they're locking so much content behind the ultimate edition, like nails and even shops, makes me wonder how hard they're going to milk GTA Online.
It's probably going to be the first time they'll try to capitalize on RP, hence the buyout of FiveM's team, so I think the odds are high that they'll try to sell the RP module behind another monthly subscription and go full jew mode, not only shitting out vehicle DLCs every month but also furniture packs, the way EA does with Sims.
