You will buy the slop and be happy.

Rockstar could require you to suck off a horse to unlock pre orders for GTA VI and it'd only mildly impact sales

It's insane the amount of hype people have for this game

Why does Rockstar insist on this move of making PC players wait for their release? That shit made some sense back in the 3D days when they were a lot smaller and with GTA IV you could at least excuse the new engine that they had to figure out how to port (and they failed miserably to do so to the point running that game was a meme similar to Crysis). With GTA V they at least had the excuse of the fact they were gonna re-release the game with HD models for the PS4 and XOne so might as well bundle the PC version with that new version.

But since then they keep doing it. Why? Have they figured out that their die hard drone always buy it twice and are they baiting them for it? Only explanation I can think of.

I mean I don't know why I care. I am not gonna buy it. Even if it had a PC version on launch I am not only on Linux (which I expect them to take issue with given Online) but also I serious fucking doubt that my 6yo GPU is gonna be able to handle their game. Their ports on PC are always shit.
I used to be one of the fags to double or triple dip. Not anymore, there is no way I am buying a slop station just to play a semi-woke GTA with the same shitty gameplay.

If you pre-order GTA VI on PS5 you get a free 1 month subscription to GTA online that auto renews once redeemed

It looks like it's a promo offer that gets entered on a new transaction, but the auto renewal is predatory behavior. It's a substantial amount of money for subscription services, though, with people constantly forgetting to cancel after free trials and letting the auto charges build up.

I can see we're on outrage mode already. Time to earn some negrates.

Only Grand Theft Auto VI could pull off something like this, but you know every fucking developer and publisher will be trying this shit now. I'm pretty sure a lot of them have gone on record saying they wanted GTA VI to do this to normalize it.
The caveat nobody is paying attention to is that GTA VI is the only game in modern history that looks like it has earned the $80 price tag. Everything they have shown is miles ahead of any other game developer. The level of detail on characters, vehicles, the world itself, and the sheer size of it, it's unlike anything seen before and somehow they fitted it in a PS5. The real problem here is that other companies will see this as an excuse to make $80 the new normal, which no AAA game coming out today remotely deserves. There's still a lot we haven't seen, we know almost nothing about the story, and there are legitimate reasons for skepticism, but I'm not gonna go apeshit when the price tag is explained away by the scale and scope of this game.
RDR2 had a $100 ultimate edition too. It included an extra horse, unique clothes and a few side missions that didn't come with the base game. This isn't something new from rockstar. The no disc thing is though. and I hate it. Hopefully thats just a security thing to prevent the game leaking early and the post launch versions will come with an actual version of the game you're paying for.
This. Everybody has forgotten about GTA V and RDR2's pre-order bonuses. This time around you get one outfit and one haircut for each protagonist, one car, one property, and two weapon skins, at no extra cost. Strangely, they haven't revealed a collector's edition yet. Probably later down the line. I'm not gonna complain about a disc when physical media has effectively been deemed outdated at this point. It's like complaining that games aren't made for HDDs anymore.

As for what you got for the extra 20 bucks in the Ultimate Edition, since nobody is posting it: One property that includes an offroad muscle car, one retro sports car, one motorcycle, one boat, one tuned variant of Jason's truck, access to two specific car mod shops, access to one specific clothing store, access to one specific tattoo parlor, access to a series of "barn find" missions (finding and restoring abandoned cars), a revolver, two gun skins, access to a mission that allows you to rob some sort of gang compound, Vice City themed clothing, and some other uninteresting clothes. They've also stated that you can upgrade your version of the game at any time to access all of this. This is a much better offering than any previous Ultimate Edition they ever made. Is it worth 20 bucks though? Up to you.

What I can't understand for the life of me is who unironically is reading this and interprets it as "they are paywalling the ENTIRE mechanic of vehicle and character customization." If you seriously think this is what is being stated here, you're out of your mind. People can be outraged about paywalls, and they should, but this is a massive retarded leap from what's been stated.

Please show me the last video game you bought on a disc. PC only obv no one cares about console poors.
Can you explain why you'd want to pay more let alone defend paying more money? You're defending one of the most greedy publishers of all time as if it's your own kin, go ahead and be part of the problem and buy the game but I'll blame people like you for allowing publishers to become more greedy.

What would even be the point of a disc version? It would ship with the 1.0 version of the game which we can't even expect to be finishable. What was the last AAA game that shipped and didn't need a dozen patches in the first month to fix the bugs that the useless vibe coding jeets are literally too stupid to catch? And we know the base game is gonna be a minimum of 200 gigabytes. COD babies tolerate inflated storage space so we know rockstar goyim will too. It would have to be multiple discs.

This level of slavish plan trusting is why jews call us goyim

Why else do you think publishers just use cinematic trailers instead of showing anything of merit? This is the kind of reaction people have to something not even showing the core of the product the actual game. I'll predict right now that the game will follow the standard Rockstar structure of missions/activities that they have been repeating for over 20 years now, but with what ever little extra details. Tons of Drumpf jokes, and safe humor to not offend anyone except those evil white supremacists. The masses will cry out it's the most innovative complex game made.

If you want ambitious AAA projects to exist, they need to make money. I’m not a GTA fan exactly and probably won’t be buying the $100 version on day one, but I want there to be space in the industry to do huge, ambitious projects.

Considering big release games in 1995 cost $50, and adjusted for inflation that’s about $110 now, and on top of that this is the most expensive development for any game in history, I’d say you’re getting a deal. I’m surprised the base price isn’t $100 tbh.
