Gordon Ramsay's recently announced National Geographic series is already under fire with some chefs and fans slamming it as culturally insensitive.

The series follows the “Hell’s Kitchen” star as he embarks on a culinary journey that “draws connections between exploration, adventure and food — with a dash of friendly competition.”

“Uncharted” will test the depths of Ramsay’s athletic prowess as an ironman competitor and heritage hunter as he digs deep to find distinct ingredients that make up each region’s best food.

Ramsay's fans and fellow chefs took to Twitter to criticize the series.

The website Eater posted a scathing take on Ramsay's upcoming show that is still in production. The article lead National Geographic to issue a statement calling the negative press premature.

"We are disappointed that the announcement of our upcoming series with Gordon Ramsay was taken out of context. With National Geographic’s storied history of exploration, our plan with this series is to celebrate and learn about local cultures around the world. In partnering with Ramsay—a well-known adventure enthusiast—we are going to fully immerse viewers and give them a glimpse into surprising and unexpected cultures and local flavors. We have not gone into production on the series yet, so this perspective is premature. We’re looking forward to working with Ramsay, who’s been making food and travel documentaries for well over a decade, to share the series when it premieres sometime next year," the statement read.

The Emmy-nominated “Masterchef” creator spoke about his love for culinary culture and his eagerness to work with the network and explore a wide-range of locations rarely seen before on a food show at the Television Critics Association panels on Wednesday in Beverly Hills, Calif.

“My passion for adventure has made me not only a better chef but also a fearless apprentice of all cultures, which makes it so exciting for me to work with National Geographic, who’ve been taking exploration to the limit for their entire storied history,” said Ramsay.

Stealing a quote from George Clinton, what people think is cultural appropriation is actually cultural appreciation. He's not there to steal everyone's recipes and bring them back to kkk whitey land, he wants to improve his craft, teach the viewers and have a good time doing what he loves with other people who also love cooking.

Gordon Ramsey isn't out to steal their recipes or claim that he's the creator of them. It's going to be a simple friendly competition between two chefs from different backgrounds. That sounds like fun. And even if he wins one competition, the locals aren't suddenly going to abandon their restaurants and go to him now. Things will remain the same and they'll still have their dishes.

Some might think this is along the lines of some "mighty whitey" delusion they are having. A competition between a local and a foreigner over a dish from a local place would be an interesting watch but these people might not realize that without trying to inject racism into it.

I'm convinced shows like Kitchen Nightmares and Hotel Hell aren't about making establishments better, rather getting a huge payout to afford the "curse," retire, or restart business elsewhere. I went to a restaurant that opened in the space of one featured in an episode and closed, and most the decor was from before Ramsey's renovation. It was impossible they undid everything ripped out, so it might have been faked.

all the renovations were just paint or putting something like bead board up over the walls, sometimes a quick fix for a horrible floor, etc. You basically just tear it off if you dislike it. It's all that can be expected in the time frame, real renovations take a lot of time.

Yes he did and its on Netflix right now. There was a hilarious segment where he was working in an Indian kitchen where no one spoke English. He tried pantomiming something like "Star Anise" to the staff who responded by waving hello at him to which he yelled, " No! Don't fucking wave at me!!"

In 2010, Gordon Ramsay visited a number of locations around the globe for his show Gordon's Great Escape, which had a pretty similar premise as the one that people are bitching about. One of the more distinct parts had him assisting Indian masterchef Imtiaz Qureshi.

Ramsay was exceptionally respectful and humble while preparing a giant platter of biryani, not giving lip or even questioning. I suppose it's a little too much effort for bitches to do a little research - if not read the damned articles - before bitching.
