Personally, I've been binge watching a lot of Oddity Archive lately. Ben's definitely a sperg and his jokes are a bit hit and miss, but I've never seen someone cover teletext channels or Macrovision in such an interesting and engaging way. He's also a huge music nerd, which I can respect, even if our windows of knowledge are wildly different.

Man, I love it when Ben talks about records or tapes. I dunno why, but they usually tend to be the better episodes of OA.

As for my other favorites, I think many of them have already been said (Vinesauce, RLM, TFS, etc.). I don't think The 8-Bit Guy's been mentioned yet, however. I'm a bit of a sucker for old technology and software. So I usually watch his videos whenever I feel like looking at some old, obsolete tech.

Bill Hammack from the University of Illinois makes some great videos about the engineering underlying a variety of subjects. What I enjoy about his videos is that while they're definitely presented as 'general audience' information, they are very well produced and thorough visual explanations of complex technical subjects, and aren't the cheap, superficial "10 things you didn't know about _____" crap that's all over Youtube.

If you're curious, I'd recommend his short video on the engineering of the retractable click pen to start:

and my favorite so far is his 4 part series on Albert Michelson's Harmonic Analyzer:

I recently got into Aydin Paladin. She mainly does political commentary à la Sargon of Akkad, but she has the spunk and brains to back herself up. There's too many good examples to give, so I'll just post the video that got me to subscribe.

Fredrik Knudsen. He makes short documentaries about weird stuff on the internet and historical oddities. I like that he stays objective and simply focuses on retelling the events as they happened.

He definitely needs more love. It's been posted before ages ago on another thread, but here's his video on OPL (although the one that hit it off for me, personally, was the one on the plague doctors).

Super Eyepatch Wolf.

He's the only youtuber who can be articulate and genuinely interesting while sperging about anime.

Seconding this. I was interested in his channel just before he released his "Fall of Bleach" video, and that right there cemented him as a hidden gem.

EDIT: Holy shit how could I forget video shitposter extraordinaire E;R? He's got a hateboner for Steven Universe and Legend of Korra, but come on: shitposting.

I'm a big fan of CUTEFUZZYWEASEL's "Feeding the Trolls" series, and his reviews are pretty good too.

My recommendations are ones that have already been mentioned before (RLM, Vinesauce Joel, etc.) So, some ones I like are:

FanboyFlicks: Very deadpan reviews of bad movies, the antithesis to people like Doug Walker:

Cinema Snob/Phelous: Hands down the two greatest members of Channel Awesome by a country mile.

Bright Sun Films: All about businesses and media that failed/went bankrupt. Oddly informative.

ChrisRayGun: Analytical YouTuber, mostly towards PC and SJWs. Would fit in perfectly on the site:

Apologies for the necro, but I just wanted to mention one of my favorite lesser known YouTubers.
Josh Way/Fun With Shorts. If you enjoy MST3K/Rifftrax then you might like this guy.

The entire Vinesauce crew, RedLetterMedia, Guru Larry, Lazy Game Reviews, SKELUX, Kaze Emanuar, and Lewis's Tech.

Mumkey Jones is a pretty nice satirical channel. One of his most popular videos
I also recommend Chubbyemu who recently started doing this series called Medical Mondays

Ashens has been mentioned a lot in this thread but he is one of the best channels on YouTube. He's been making videos the same way for the past ten years, and it has worked so well because there's no bullshit about them.

Creepswork does readings of those greentext stories you would find around 4chan. They're pretty good, give them a look.

Kys yourselfs.

Has anyone mentioned Clint from Lazy Game Reviews? Guy has a great voice and genuine personality, friendly, approachable and a real knowledge and enthusiasm about his hobbies which include collecting and restoring old computers and electronics, collecting old PC games, going to thrift stores and more. Informative and well made videos.

I especially like his "Tech Tales" and "Oddware" series.

List of under 100K sub channels. In no particular order.

The Justicar - Covers political topics, with a combination of evidence and mockery. About 2 videos a month.

MisterCaption - long form video game critique. Was ~1 video a month, been silent ~5months.

SidAlpha - Video game industry news. Good series called DirtyDevs. Daily to weekly content.

EonKool - Video game critique. ~1 video every ~2-3 months.

Druaga1 - Tech. content, satirical/comical. Usually doing odd things to get old and new tech. to attempt to work together. ~3-4 videos a month.

pengicitis is a really good youtuber and he seems like a pretty nice guy

i also like turkey tom, apandah and mikasacus

Someone else in this thread mentioned Aydin Paladin. I second this one. This is my favorite video by her:

I agree with Chris Ray Gun as well. I love his shitposting videos and he's the only one in that skeptic/anti-sjw group who doesn't make me cringe.

Obsolete Oddity is another favorite of mine. He talks about weird history stories and does urban exploration videos. His videos always have a good atmosphere and look to them which makes them more enjoyable and realistic.

I've always liked him for this video as well:
It really makes you feel the paintings instead of looking at them.
