A recent diagnosis has basically committed me to a life with a low fat diet. Looking for meals and or recipes for low fat options that kiwis have enjoyed in the past.

And before anyone goes for the low hanging fruit: No, this was not a 'lol he's fat' diagnosis. Not going to PL about it.

Sucks to your gallbladder/pancreas.

You’re looking at cooking technique more than special foods, get a good convection toaster oven, an instant pot and a rice cooker / steamer. You’re eating rice, soup, veg, and baked chicken with bbq sauce, baked fish with lemon, air fried turkey burgers, etc. eat like an 80s lady you’ll be fine.

Enjoy your skittles, nigger.

ETA: get some weightwatchers and hungry girl cookbooks. They have some good very low fat recipes.

Double post to give a couple recipes to get started:

1. Soak some dry Lima beans and boil them up with a bundle of cilantro stems. Salt generously. In a nonstick pan, sautée chopped onions til translucent (you can add a little water to help if you can’t even use PAM) and stir in some Finley chopped Roma tomatos and a spoon our two of tomato paste. Poke this until it smells good and a little sweet, maybe you’ll have some black spots. Toss the cilantro from the beans and serve as a thick soup with the tomato onion mix as topping.

2. Put a box of couscous in a smallish baking pan. Put chicken tenders or chopped breast on top. Pour a cup (? Whatever it says on the box) over and top with a pint of cherry tomatoes. Cover tightly with foil and bake until the chicken is done.

3. Bake white meat chicken with any bottled sauce or maybe ff Italian dressing. Eat it with rice or baked potato

4. Make corn tortilla chips in your air fryer or even the microwave. Use them to scoop pinto beans topped with chopped onion and cilantro or pico de Gallo (small chopped white onion, tomato and Serrano chiles) don’t forget the salt and lime juice.

5. Make falafels from boxed mix and bake them or gently fry over medium low heat in a dry pan (if you fry smash them into lil patties) serve with tzaziki made from ff Greek yogurt mixed into cucumber grated and squeezed dry. Add dill and garlic or maybe mint.

6. Get a tub of ff cool whip and a tub of ff vanilla yogurt. Mix in a lot of green grapes cut in half. Chill and eat to celebrate your white trash heritage.

Congratulations. You are now a Vegan who can't even experience the joy of salad dressings. If cholesterol is your issue just knock off the deep fried foods and go for leaner meats and fish. Also don't forget that products labeled zero fat are usually full of sugar/carbs and will actually make you fat. I suggest pork loin, chicken breast, lamb, turkey breast, and beef chuck as your more fat free meats that are more readily available. On the other hand I have rabbits for sale. You can actually die eating rabbit because they have so little fat in their meat and humans actually do require fat in their diet. In conclusion, become a vegan or become my customer because you will die otherwise.

I will unironically consider buying from you if you DM me details.

I can post deets here that will probably dissuade you. I'm in the deep south and I don't deliver so that's one point. The main point though is that the FDA will not allow me to sell you processed rabbit meat. I have a day job so I don't intend on setting up a FDA regulated meat processing plant with inspectors. I can hand you live buns that you can kill and cut up or dead whole ones intended for pet food. If you buy and receive the live buns from me and then bring them back and offer to give me a fee for processing them under the condition that the meat will not be offered for retail sale we can get around it. I prefer to just hand the animal off dead or alive and go on about my day though.

Oh. What you were saying made it sound like that was an option lol.

You should figure out what kind of vegetables you like and get a juicer. Mix what you like with kale and lemon and make god awful green juice. It's disgusting and you won't want to eat/drink very much. If you go down the paleo route, be ready to read a shit ton of sperging about potatoes and sweet potatoes. In addition to the zero fat stuff that cup was talking about, anything that says it's nitrate free is complete crap. Stuff with that label will charge you about three dollars more and use the nitrate free label because they use natural nitrates like celery seed.

That was a sarcastic sales pitch. Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't kidding about how lean rabbit is though. If you can find a local guy to hook you up it just might fill your need. I'm a small fry catering to my own needs and the local market. The most rabbits I will ever have on hand is like 60 and that's if I'm really on top of my breeding game. Commercial rabbitries will have thousands, but most of those get shipped off to Europe. Almost no one in America eats rabbit whereas it is served in Michelin star restaurants in France.

Chicken without the skin is a good option if you want meat, also Turkey (cuts like breast and boneless thighs are what I eat, I skin off every bit of fat because I hate how chewy cooked animal fat is), rice without butter or any kind of fat might sound awful but it isnt the worst thing in the world if you season it, boiled plain potatoes with salt & pepper are good if you want an alternative to butter-rich mashed potatoes, legumes generally dont need any fat if you cook them right, salads are a good option if you can cope with the idea of eating a salad that isnt drenched in dressing or olive oil

TLDR:
Chicken (boneless, skinless), Turkey, Cod, Tilapia / Ground beef or lamb if you use lean cuts
Rice without fat tastes ok if you season it
Boiled plain potatoes with salt & pepper taste better than it sounds
Legumes are your best friend (not peanuts)
Steamed vegetables (Broccoli with garlic and lemon juice dressing is pretty alright)
Egg whites (I'd rather die)
Vegetables like cucumbers, tomatoes and peppers are what I snack on 90% of the time
Pickled anything except eggs I suppose (Unless you have issues with sodium intake too)
