No one can guarantee you anything. If you are good at tech and it is your passion and you can think of ways to be self-employed with it, if needed, stick with it. If you aren't the biggest fan of it, could consider a trade. At the very least you would have a very real world practical skill.

Yeah via various green hippie dippie communities but that means getting your hands dirty i would suggest you to dig around permies forum they have some sort of apprenticeship programs, lesson etc on green low tech ways to produce make stuff , self sufficiency etc. If you can produce anything that doesn't require burning half a ton of coal you are golden.

Tech and internet or whatever isnt that crucial to day to day life or day to day production. Remove the computers and people will still be able to communicate, travel , live and produce shit. What if I'm a skilled programmer who actually develops software and knows calculus? Most tech and internet stuff isn't crucial but it still holds some importance.
