They also make terrible washing machines.
Do they? In a recent chat with a trustworthy appliance repairman (working on something unrelated for the family), he told us LG's washing machines & dryers are about the only good thing they make anymore. He specifically warned against their refrigerators, because apparently they shoehorn their linear motors (that work very well in the laundry equipment) into their refrigerator designs, and the inverters and compressors turn to dogshit within a year, and LG's "10 year warranty" will only ever pay to replace either of them once.

To be fair to LG, the second washing machine works fine. It was also the cheapest option apparently, so I guess it was a good value.
