But yeah, unless the story really catches you, you mostly just sit there and press the next button, or put it on auto and read the story later.

Keep in mind that they have an upcoming game so i guess they just decided to snuffle out the weakest moneymaker.
 
Doesnt the game atleast has a fast forward option? Youre telling mr you gotta sit there and press a button fast if you want the scene to.move along faster?
Nope, Genshin has been out almost six years and still no fast forward button or anything to make the cutscenes go faster. Even if you autoplay cutscenes, if you're a fast reader you'll probably finish the entire dialogue while the character barely reaches the second sentence.

Spamming buttons doesn't even work reliably either. Sometimes it makes the textbox finish loading all its dialogue, and other times the button spam gets ignored and you need to wait until all the text finishes loading. You'll notice this a lot more when there's long sections of just dialogue.

Another thing that grinds my gears: why is it that when I'm required to follow an NPC, or an NPC to follow me, they're a lot slower than my walking speed? It's something I've noticed with various games and at this point I just wonder if it's a limitation of the engine or nobody could be bothered to stop doing that.

(Also on controller there's no analog movement for walking/running but there is for the camera, for some reason. Happens on mobile too I think?).

I explicitly remember The Witcher 3 made a big deal about NPC Walking quests having them move at the same speed you did, and that game is over a decade old now.

Meaning it's likely easily doable but the modern developer either isn't skilled enough to tweak some numbers, or thinks that if you move too fast you won't take in their "cinematic experience" of a game...
 
Yes, fucking let me slap Dottore around three times a week so I can triple crown Sandrone day 1 instead of having to wait a few weeks.
 
Another pet peeve of mine is the weekly boss limits. If I need 20 Copper Teeth of Deduction to max Shilled Waifu's skills, why does it need at least 2 months of farming a boss most people will speedrun after 15 minutes
Hell, I'd accept it if I could kill the same boss 3 times in one week. I only need Dottore, BUT THAT FUCKING DICK HEAD DROPS THE WRONG MATS EVERY WEEK. I've been farming for Columbina since she dropped.

At that point, wouldn't you have enough of his junk materials to just convert it into the ones you need? That's probably the only redeeming thing of the boss material system right now.

(It still doesn't make the multi week grind any better, they should really just let us rematch the same boss 3 times. It's no fun having to wait weeks especially if you don't like fighting that specific boss)

I don't like doing conversions, because inevitably, I always regret it. Suddenly, someone needed that material and I'm back to square one.

Hsr only got a skip button because saoji couldn't bother writing a cohesive story that wasn't told in the most needlessly drawn out and inane way possible.
 
So much for my comment. They've just said in the stream that there would be an option to go to the next line in one click.
Dunno why they can't just add a skip button, though I'll take it at this point. The devs have always been a little bit retarded in that aspect.

Still, very excited for Snezhnaya, and I believe that was also the Tsaritsa's voice there in the last part of the preview trailer?

Yup, looking forward to seeing what her design will be.

Kinda annoyed that it's Sandrone & Citlali as the first set of banners, I was hoping it'd be Sandrone & Columbina so that when I rolled on the weapon banner it wouldn't matter if I lost the 50/50.
