I've heard that Gathering of the Juggalos is full of degeneracy but I have never gone nor do I want to go

Go look at the Gathering of the Juggalos group on Facebook right now and charge up your algorithm because the event is happening in a couple of weeks and your feed will be full of the most degenerate garbage imaginable. It is extremely entertaining. Last year there was a big freakout because a rumor was going around that someone had filled a super soaker with fentanyl spiked water and was spraying people. Someone also took a picture of a kid in the showers and they followed him around and had a good community beating until security finally found him. It's a glorious pit of degeneracy.

It may be my mid-life crisis speaking, but I kinda want to go to The Gathering at least once, just to experience it.

It's depressing. Like she's trying to intentionally ugly up her body with tattoos. They're not anything particularly artistic or meaningful, it's just ugly things like bats and scorpions and a harpy that look like she went into a shop and just pointed at something in the book. It's an insane thing to do to your body just for a bit, especially when her personality is completely at odds with the character she plays. You see her interviews and you can tell she's a preppy cheerleader type girl that's playing theater. Total poser.

Same to a degree with Ruby Riot. Not so much having the same personality as Rhea or being a poser, but just the idea of covering herself with tattoos instead of addressing the real problem. She could have been so much better off just getting a nose and/or boob job at the beginning instead of turning herself into the back of a middle schooler's notebook with a dyke haircut. Rhea's just a mental case though, it seems. I can understand the idea of wanting to stand out more and being different than the "generic blonde bimbo", but people forget wrestling doesn't last forever and they still need to have a life after where she has to walk around covered in tattoos and piercings. It's almost like there's a comparison to trannies and how it's not a good idea to rush into life/body altering decisions because of the regret afterwards.

Anytime I see someone covered with tattoos I just think of a story that a comedian, Big Jay Oakerson, said once about showing his dad or step-dad his new tattoos and the dad just replied "You know, instead of getting all these tattoos you could just join a gym."

I've never been a 'juggalo' and I can't speak on how things are now since I only went to one Gathering in the late 2000's, but it's really not so bad. I'd say it's not too much different from any other festival type event except they're more open with their drug use and you might see more chicks walking around topless/naked (mostly ones you don't want to see). The wrestling and all the random music acts they bring in are worth it to go check out if you like them, and as long as you act normal or don't give off an impression that you think you're better than everyone, then the juggalos won't fuck with you and might even accept you in the group for the weekend. Just avoid the methheads and yell whoop whoop once in awhile and you'll be fine.

vince russo has been more influential to wrestling than jim cornette
Debatable. Russo booked in the Attitude Era and late WCW, but the biggest stars of the 2000s like Lesnar, Batista, Randy Orton and Cena spent their early years learning from Jim and fucking his wife. It really comes down to how much of Steve Austin's run you attribute to Russo.

Paul Heyman had more influence than them both, though. The Attitude era copied Heyman's ECW formula, he was mentor to ROH's early head booker—and many of the stars from the 2010s-today came from ROH—he did a lot of well received booking for Smackdown during the Ruthless Aggression era, Tony Khan says he fell in love with wrestling watching ECW, and Heyman is still a manager of top talent in WWE to this day, managing to get Roman Reigns over after Vince spent years of trying. I think you could argue the only one who had more of an effect on wrestling since the late 1990s is Vince McMahon himself.

I think Vince gets a lot of credit for simply not saying no to other people's good ideas now and then, as his own ideas were usually flops.

Stampede never had their own TSN show, but matches from there showed up in that compilation show TSN ran after dropping AWA before picking up NWA. Stampede had sadly shut down before then.

TSN in the late 80's aired at the same time an AWA show, a Stampede show and Pro Wrestling Plus, which was Ed Whalen showing clips of shows from various promotions. Pro Wrestling Plus aired on Sunday mornings. I believe Stampede was Monday afternoons and I can't remember when AWA aired.

That must have been a slim window, or I was stuck on a school bus when they were showing Stampede. I just watched on Saturdays, TSN would likely have been weeks to months behind anyway.

Pro Wrestling Plus was awesome.

I also loved when they brought NWA onto TSN and showed every match from the Tokyo Dome Starrcade over a few episodes. The Steiner's match was insane shit to see back then.

She got a nose job, got married, and had a kid and looks so much better now.

Wew, that was an unfortunate schnozz.

It's not even as crazy as it once was since it started getting noticed by the narcissist at Vice and they did a big bit on how they had an open air drug market so of course the venues and local governments started freaking out and demanding police presence there.

how the fuck jake hager went from wwe, to aew, to getting knocked up on that retard ufc thing and still never got over. he even fought in bellator. even his whore of a wife divorced him. what the fuck is wrong with that guy lmao
If I were a woman and my husband did power slap I'd divorce his ass too

He was on a roll when aligned with Zeb Colter, aka Dutch Mantel, until he got arrested for DUI and weed possession.

After AEW he started a trucking company that somehow failed in the age of historical demand for truckers.

Do you even enjoy wrestling or is it just one more thing you seethe watch?

Plenty of people just hate watch it in between watching classic matches from when it was still great. I'll watch the big four just to see how bad things have gotten but I can't stand watching the weekly shows.

I'm sure he tried to start one that followed regulations and operated ethically. The whole industry right now is based on cutting corners and hiring unskilled immigrants for rock bottom wages so it's hard o compete if you don't do that. It's why every day you have stories about some horrific rig crash caused by drivers wearing flip-flops who can't read basic road signs. They can only do exactly what their phone GPS tells you and any sort of situation that requires critical thinking causes them to bluescreen. Go into some of the trucker groups on Facebook and search floppies and you'll get a list of fascinating stories.

Muscle mommy psyop
Honestly, I dunno if that even tracks. I've been watching Attitude era shit on Jewtube, and Rhea's just not hot. She was attractive back when she first got to WWE, but once the "Manson on steroids" look took over, just... no.

Contrast Chyna, even with the linebacker build and square chin, she was always kind of hot.

The Good Bros. definitely miss Japan in that pic.
I think a lot of it has to do with Anderson being the Bullet Clubs mouthpiece for years having bought him Smark Goodwill, and Gallows is his plus 1/drinking buddy.

I like the Good Brothers, but I readily admit their ceiling is "Goons for the Actual Heel". They're bag carriers and everyone knows it, but the guys they carry bags for can get them gigs.
I think they're aware that they've been lucky. Also, you can always use filler tag teams, they've been on and off in NWA for like three years during Crockett Cup season.
