Sorry for double post but unrelated to my last post.

Dark Side of the Ring Season 7 subjects seem to have little darkness in them:
1. Jeff Jarrett's TNA part 1
2. Jeff Jarrett's TNA part 2
3. Jeff Jarrett's TNA part 3
4. Necro Butcher vs. Samoa Joe
5. Big Boss Man
6. The Renegade
7. Paul Orndorff
8. Missy Hyatt
9. Zach Gowen

Obviously Renegade is dark, but the others don't seem all that dark.

Early TNA did have some strange and lolcow qualities (like Macho Man's and Luger's last appearances, awful wrestlers like Cheex, etc) but wasn't really dark. Hell, ECW and the shit that Paul Heyman did and what happened to a lot of the wrestlers afterwards is way darker than TNA

I guess if they did Mankind's HIAC, Necro Butcher vs Samoa Joe fits but there's a lot of death match shit that is just as bad.

Big Boss Man was by all accounts a very nice person without any addictions or anything, so other than an early death, I don't think there was anything dark about him or his life (similar to Earthquake John Tenta episode I guess?).

Paul Orndorff also was relatively clean and nothing really dark about him or his life as far as I know.

Missy Hyatt also had addictions but is still alive and did run a porn site for a while (I think?) but otherwise is not really dark.

Zach Gowen had some addictions and is an interesting story but drug addictions are a dime a dozen in wrestling and he's still alive.

It seems it's more just bios and interesting stories at this point rather than dark shit. They could've done stuff like Buck Zumhofe, Bob Sweetan, Ring Boys, Lawler, Teddy Hart, Hardbody Harrison, Ashley Massaro or a number of other actual dark topics in wrestling. Even Test/Andrew Martin would have been a better dark topic for a drug addicted wrestler since he committed suicide young

Orndorff does have the story about getting caught up in the business and working through an arm injury that resulted in permanent damage and one arm ending up being noticeably smaller than the other. I imagine that's going to be the angle they tackle with that.

Boss Man's story will probably be very positive, but will probably focus on some rather notorious incidents like him being hung, Kennel in a Cell, or the Big Show feud (which honestly is bizarre comedy looking back at it.)

Hyatt and Gowen have interesting angles (porn star/one legged dude.)

Even Test/Andrew Martin would have been a better dark topic for a drug addicted wrestler since he committed suicide young

Looks like there will be more people leaving backstage roles in TNA over the next few days. There's clearly some sort of shift going on over there and i wouldn't be terribly surprised if WWE has agreed to buy them and it's a bit of house-cleaning before the official announcement.

Orndorff’s arm was actually due to a neck injury he didn’t take time off to heal. It withered because he lost strength and feeling in his left arm due to an injury he got during the feud with Hulk Hogan.

While it would be the TNA way to somehow survive losing everyone who knows how to run it and all their top talents - it’s happened more than once to this company - I don’t think anyone wasn’t expecting TNA to be brought into the fold more permanently as a Feeder Fed.

They’ll probably find a way to exist if in name only - truly the DSP of Wrestling Promotions - but I’m just expecting a buyout announcement, with TNA becoming a way for indie performers who don’t need as much polish to be brought in.

TNA's main problem for awhile IMO is star power. No one on the roster is a must watch guy. When your most dominant faction has Brian Myers and Eddie Edwards, you're in trouble. What stars they have had, they've fumbled through bad booking or made no attempt to lock them down. They had Matt Cardona fresh off of the Nick Gage deathmatch hype and booked him like a generic face, barely acknowledging what was at that time the hottest story on the indies.

The other problem is that against a sea of other wrestling shows, they're boring. They're not trying anything different, or thinking out of the box. They feel like OVW with a bigger budget. Wrestling fans are more eager to discuss and watch Russo-led JCW in 2026.

I highly doubt they do. They only got that right in the WCW situation because their lawyers snuck it in just to see if Turner’s lawyers would catch it in the settlement of the suit over Hall claiming he was still a WWF employee when he did his first interview on Nitro.

No I very much doubt it too, especially since I don't think TKO is interested in acquiring another promotion, and the Jews like Ari aren't going to entertain whatever Anthem thinks TNA is worth.

On the other side of things, Anthem is so stupidly-run that they’d probably only sell once TNA was worth absolutely nothing due to all the talent leaving and losing US TV again. (Anthem bought AXS just to keep TNA on US TV, but nobody watches AXS)

That's probably why they haven't. Very few would talk about him being a pedophile. Even if they don't like him, WWE would pretty much blacklist them if they did talk about it

I think he's also mostly paralyzed after 4/5 strokes. Not that you could tell by his face due to all the work he's had done over the years.

I can think of two exceptions to this - Lucha, where it’s part and parcel of the style, and when big guys break out unexpected flippy shit (see the Brian Cage Springboard Moonsault), because it’s a rare novelty.
