Watching it now but one thing that stands out is at the 15 minute mark. Lucas references the infamous Aero AR-10 burn down video where he abused the Aero AR-10 by trying to go to 5K rounds with out cleaning or lubricating, something you don't do to AR-10s. Though if I recall correctly, he did say he did a lubrication at 2.5K rounds or something, the video was posted years ago in this thread. The only thing Aero did wrong was not loctite parts for a complete upper (the upper and lower were bought separately and thus didn't consider the upper ready to go). He isn't apologetic, he doesn't admit he wasn't familiar with how the US Army's manual of arms for the M110 says to clean it after 900 rounds, a moment of Dunning-Kruger in effect. He just acts like he did nothing wrong and it was solely Aero's fault the rifle failed. By the way, Lucas never did anything like that again with a .308 rifle, he would only do it with 5.56 rifles. I personally think some manufacturers refused to send him .308 rifles to review after that. He also later did some PR work for LMT, leaving a comment on Armed Asian's instagram post bashing LMT (the account has been deleted, don't go looking for it), saying he (Lucas) spoke to LMT and they are sorting out the issues with their .308 line of rifles. Really, asshole? You want to carry water for the boutique vendor no one can afford but continue bashing an affordable company that is within the budget of your young followers?

He also says Aero mentioned its aerospace manufacturing to him and that he feels they should of done ok because he thinks the aerospace industry is doing fine right now. The aerospace industry, at least for commercial isn't fine because its a constant war between US companies and their foreign competitors. If you act as a manufacturing supplier for one of those American companies and they get hit, you're fucked. If you get outbid on a manufacturing job re-compete because the foreign supplier is much cheaper, you're fucked. It's a competitive and cut throat business with lots of industrial espionage.

I'm not impressed. I checked out his Lethal Corp website, he is nothing more than a drop shipper at MSRP but only sells what he thinks is good with his opinions on the product. I'll stick to Primary Arms or Optics Planet.

Edit:

Here is Aero's comments from Lucas' video years ago.

First of all, RIP Lucas’s shoulder. We have a few points to make, but in general, we look forward to getting the rifle (specifically the BCG) back in hand to understand where and why it’s weak points were exposed during this endurance test. We believe in continuous improvement and will be examining where we can keep developing on this platform.

Our goal is to offer an affordable and reliable base for an AR10 setup. Whether that be for plinking, long-range shooting, hunting, SHTF, or other. This is a rifle platform we have been offering very successfully for years and truly believe it’s great for the vast majority of users. This is proven by the thousands of customers that are successfully and consistently running M5 configured rifles to date. With that being said, the rifle should be built to your specific use case. Our thoughts…

1. If you are building a rifle for extreme use, we would highly recommend getting the rifle in to it’s final configuration with whatever parts and components you prefer, testing it, and then securing that configuration. Items such as the bolt catch screw and handguard screws can benefit from blue Loctite, especially on the AR10 platform where there is much more force involved. We don’t generally do this from the factory as we aren’t offering a complete “out of the box” rifle and most M5 users are building from scratch, upgrading components, etc. Loctite can be your best friend and your worst enemy.

2. If you are shooting an AR10/M5 rifle suppressed, we highly recommend taking that type of use into account when building and selecting components. There are a couple different components that can and do help lower carrier velocity in the case of suppressed use. What this exact formula is will vary depending on use-case, but generally a rifle or A5 buffer system can greatly help on these large frame rifles. Adjustable gas blocks are another great solution if your use-case permits.

3. We specifically recommend PMAGs with the M5 platform. Through years of use, we have seen the most consistent success with PMAGs and the development of the lower receiver was done specifically with these magazines.

4. Maintenance is important. We understand the point of this specific test, but even military testing protocols require maintenance on this classification of firearm at round counts well before any critical failures occurred here. Specifically, if you run the rifle until it’s dry and fails to operate, you are introducing excessive wear on areas such as the BCG and shortening the lifespan of the part. We would not recommend shooting the rifle 2300+ rounds without maintenance. The BCG was also purchased as a standalone part where there is no lube from the factory as we do not lubricate BCGs that go into individual packaging. This means the rifle ran for 2300 rounds with no lube whatsoever. This point alone could have drastically changed the outcome with the BCG.

5. The BCG specifically is an opportunity area for improvement not just for Aero Precision, but for the AR10 platform in general. We utilize what we would consider the industry standard design for AR10/AR308 BCGs. We have been developing a more robust design that we are confident would perform better in this testing and we look forward to bringing that to market in the future. The current BCG offerings on the market, including ours, is suitable for most users. BUT, there is opportunity here.

None of these are intended to be excuses, but rather are what we think about internally when we review this and consider how we would approach this testing from a “scientific” standpoint. We also are interested to see this testing conducted on competitor products as well. We had some great conversations with Lucas and team at Trex Arms, respect the hell out of them for this thorough content, and look forward to follow-up discussions on this platform.

One part of their comments that stood out was this:
We also are interested to see this testing conducted on competitor products as well

Again, he never did a 5K round burn down test on a competitor's AR-10. He is incapable of admitting this wasn't a good test, he didn't plan it out beyond "lets go do this", and he never delivered another data point by testing a different AR-10; all while claiming Aero was trying to get him to not post the video. This is why I don't like Lucas and don't trust anything he says, he is incapable of admitting fault. With how screwed up and weird his family is, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.

That AR-10 test really was a strange video. If I remember correctly, was the firing pin the only thing that broke? My firing pin also broke at less than 6,000 rounds on an M5E1 Enhanced, or whatever they used to call it, and it always had a strange ejection pattern until it broke. I cleaned it after every range trip and never shot it suppressed because I didn’t have an adjustable gas block and had no need to suppress it.

Personally, I thought getting $6,000 worth of ammo through my $200 bolt carrier was pretty impressive. Aero also had a great response to the video that got over 10,000 likes.

Now that everything has been upgraded, mine has gone over 10k rounds in 2ish years without any malfunctions, so it’s possible, in my opinion, that the firing pin/bolt carrier could have been a weak link.

I recently unsubbed from him due to his videos largely being a mix of SHTF larping and product reviews of stuff I don't care about.
DC's overly cinematic style irritates me, and I dislike how fear porny a lot of their videos are, but you're right about this.
Call me gay and neg rate me until I pink triangle but I am very tired of all the SHTF larping when the 2nd is pretty clearly for the purpose of irl offensive fedposting against state authority enforcers. I'm not calling for any real life action, and I hate that I have to talk this way about it or else people sperg out but I never really got the whole "preparing for something that has basically historically never happened" when the entire reason you are allowed to own guns is to ensure a free state and people, it seems like some time in the ancient past people started using TEOTWAKI/SHTF etc as a cover for talking about possible anti goverment activities and people just assumed they really meant only that scenario or that the government did a good enough job making it illegal to discuss that no one says the quiet part out loud (unless you are ethnic). Well, that and left over nuclear war sperging from the cold war.
. This is why I don't like Lucas and don't trust anything he says, he is incapable of admitting fault. With how screwed up and weird his family is, the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I never really followed him but I end up absorbing enough about him via osmosis and if I recall correctly he also did a similar thing were he got all spergy over people calling out his shitty tactics and movement back when he'd post airshit footage from some private milsim game he ran.

There are so many online firearms retailers selling stuff at below (sometimes well below) MSRP that I have no idea why anyone would pay MSRP for anything just because Botkin has a webstore with a name right out of a 1990s Saturday morning cartoon.

I'd be surprised if his Adaptiv Defense company ever really goes anywhere. He's got some slings and a belt on there, neither of which have anything interesting going on. Did the market really need another tactical nylon company?

I'm sure once he gets the money his family owes him he'll be well-off enough to do whatever, even if it's just vanity companies like these, but eventually he's going to realize trying to recreate T. Rex Arms by other names isn't as fulfilling as he currently thinks it will be.

Finished the video, outside of the Aero review, here are the other parts that stood out.

21 Minutes in: Lucas talks about the hassle of having item restrictions for certain states and how the public doesn’t understand the issues he has due to potential state DOJ lawsuits. I get it but at the same time it’s frustrating to see supposed 2A advocate shrink at the idea of getting sued on things that shouldn’t be banned in the first place especially non-restricted items. He also mentions copying PSA’s list of what they ship or sale to state residence. This list is flawed or at least it will be because PSA is going to treat Virginia like they do Washington state and you will not be able to buy any rifle parts from them beyond 15 round magazines. PSA will also refuse to sell to you in person at their retail store. They use credit card purchase as an excuse to ID you for fraud, something retailers stopped doing during Bush’s second term. This was covered on a Maryland firearms subreddit where said poster was not allowed to buy past 15 rounds even though Maryland law prohibits the purchase or delivery of magazines beyond 15 rounds in state, its perfectly legal to cross state lines to purchase and bring back but PSA uses a blanket policy to protect themselves. Before any has skepticism because it's reddit (justifiable), the PSA rep did post they did this and refused to elaborate why. It's a confirmed policy of theirs.

24 minutes in: Lucas talks training, he wants to do west coast training and see opportunity to train “government.” Yeah, I’m sure some backwater law enforcement agency will piss away money to train officers with him and will never fire their weapons again. I wonder if Lucas is going to underbid LE trainers with former experience to break into government and LE training.

27 minutes in: talks about the last time he or Stoeger has seen an FN or a VP9 at a class. I’m trying to be objective on this one because I use a VP9 (I don’t think its perfect though). I get the FN bashing but at least where I’m at VP9s aren’t uncommon. It’s just more fake expertise from Lucas. Though Stoeger supports it a little and mentions he taught with his buddy in Alabama and his buddy is a big HK nerd and used a VP9. Lucas calls HK for nerds.

37 minutes in: talks the lawsuit. Not a whole lot said but the interesting part was he discussed was he needs the money from the lawsuit to get the capital to purchase a public range. He alluded to the range business earlier, it was either with Stoeger or Tripp and I was wondering what happened when he went over his wet fart business ventures. I get not overextending yourself and getting business loans to purchase a range but his lack of honesty on the Aero talks makes me feel like we don’t have the full story on the lawsuit with Trex arms and it may not be cut and dry. I would be surprised if he gets the full money back at this point.

The Botkins have pretended to be elite trainers of military, LE, and so forth for over a decade.

They do this with every one of their ventures, no matter how mid.

Isaac still larping as a "film expert"?

Sort of to the periphery of guntube, but Rolling Stone just wrote a glowing article about Yeezy, the antifa supporting, child tranny loving guy who 3-d prints guns.Ver archivo adjunto 9159837
Of course it’s an article ‘written by’ Jack Crosbie, or, more accurately, an article where Jack Crosbie pasted his surface level talking points into chat GPT and called it journalism. LMFAO
Jack has become pretty famous for his ‘I spoke to experts...’ bullshit. Then, halfway through the article, you realize the ‘experts’ are three tweets, a Reddit thread, and whatever chat GPT generated after Jack pasted in the discourse of the week and asked it what a corporate democrat was supposed to think.

This nigga so fat he's his own lead sled.
Nigga so fat Paul came back to make a Lard Target.
Nigga so fat he thinks dump pouch is what you call an adult diaper.

I have no idea what prompted me to see what nutnfancy was up to like I sensed a disturbance in the force, but holy shit lol. "The next chapter in the nutnfancy project" and he's got himself a little mock astronaut uniform selling some knife he made with a collab involving BladeHQ for his Europa Space Infantry knife.

He immediately shills his patreon, and says there's some "story". What is this story? We'll get to that. First lets see if we can determine anything from his patreon page.
https://www.patreon.com/Nutnfancy it seems he's developed some weird scifi space fetish.

Wait a minute... that's not just selling a knife. Is he... generating AI slop images and stories and trying to sell this as premium content for fans? ENHANCE!

Holy fucking shit that's exactly what he's doing as a retarded boomer with his retarded fans. He can't get views on youtube for shit, likely can't get much in the way of sponsors or just free shit in general these days, and his patreon has been bleeding members for a few years now. But this is a whole level of absurd I wouldn't have actually expected. And the best part is he managed to sell out this bullshit run of knives at $115 compared to their normal $69.95 pricetag because it has his AI space force slop printed on it. I'm moderately impressed this guy has managed to grift his audience like this, he's even got a blue one in the works.

That video also made Brassfact's fans and moderators hate Navyman.

Kudos for saving it, I was looking for it a few weeks ago and was disappointed I couldn't find it.

Edit: got to the end where he talks about Trex fans talking shit about GBRS group in 2021 and Navyman defends GBRS, this aged like milk, lol.

From his videos, Sundles seems like an odd guy in a lot of ways.
It’s through like 4 degrees of separation, but I’ve been told he’s one hell of a shot with pretty much everything though (or used to be, I dunno, age catches up to everyone).

I still can’t get over how fucking weird IV88 looks now, maybe Sundles passed by him in the store or something and assumed he was the dogman creature, decided on the spot he needed to hunt it down
