The far-right bigot was kicked off Facebook and Twitter in recent months too.

Gavin McInnes, the founder of the violent neo-fascist gang the Proud Boys, was fired from Blaze Media, and his YouTube account was disabled ― the latest in a series of professional setbacks for the far-right bigot.

The Blaze, founded by conservative pundit Glenn Beck, merged with CRTV last week to form right-wing media giant Blaze Media. McInnes hosted a podcast with CRTV called “Get Off My Lawn,” which he used to discuss his anti-Muslim and misogynistic beliefs.

“Blaze Media no longer has a relationship with Gavin McInnes, and per company policy, cannot comment on personnel matters,” the company tweeted Saturday.

Asked for comment Monday about his firing, McInnes told HuffPost he believed “there has been a concerted effort to de-platform me” and claimed he was the victim of “lies and propaganda.”

“Someone very powerful decided long ago that I shouldn’t have a voice,” he wrote in an email. “I’m finally out of platforms and unable to defend myself. ... We are no longer living in a free country.”

McInnes, who co-founded Vice before leaving the media company in 2008, quit the Proud Boys last month a day after a report indicated that the FBI had described them as an “extremist group with ties to white nationalism.” The FBI has since denied classifying the group as an extremist group, The Washington Post reported Friday.

In October, members of the Proud Boys violently assaulted leftist protesters outside the Metropolitan Republican Club in Manhattan, where McInnes spoke earlier that evening. At least nine of them were arrested days later.

His ouster from Blaze comes after several social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, banned him over their policies prohibiting hate speech and “violent extremist groups.” He has also been kicked off Amazon and PayPal.

The Daily Beast reported Monday that McInnes’ YouTube profile and channel have been deleted. McInnes said YouTube received complaints about copyright violations for old videos featured on his page.

A statement on his channel’s now-defunct page reads, “This account has been terminated because we received multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement regarding material the user posted.”

Asked if McInnes has been banned from the platform, a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement Monday that the company terminates the accounts of “repeat offenders.”

“When a copyright holder notifies us of a video that infringes on their copyright, we act quickly to remove content, as is required of us by law,” the spokesperson said.

According to YouTube’s copyright strikes policy, a copyright offender may submit a counternotification arguing that a video in question was “misidentified as infringing or qualifies as a potential fair use.”

McInnes told HuffPost he plans to file counternotifications for the copyright complaints.

Before I ask this, I'll be upfront and say that I'm long, long time fan of Gavin(And even worked for him for awhile) so I'm pretty biased.

But what is people's problem with him? I'm not talking about SJWs, I'm talking about supposedly reasonable people who saying shit like "I think Gavin is dumb/a moron/whatever but this is bad." Like, what's to dislike about the guy? Are you taking the bait and thinking that Proud Boys is a racist thing? Is it because he has dumb tattoos? What's the deal?

Why do you preface "reasonable" with "supposedly" because someone dares not to like your ex-bosses/coworkers antics?

Maybe it's because they can't stand his fucking grating screechy voice or his constant condescension. Maybe it's because he acts like he's such a fucking smart and wise adult, as if he has a lot to teach the dumb modern youth, and then goes and stuffs a fucking dildo up his asshole on stream.

The better question might be why can't you believe that there are rational people out there that think Gavin McInnes is a fucking attention seeking unfunny tryhard sperg who is probably a lolcow in and of his own right.

Because people seemed to be okay with his livelihood being threatened without providing any reasons. The people who I spend time with think he's a pretty solid dude, dildos and all. I literally don't understand where you're coming from with your complaints to the extent that I think you might be confusing him with someone else or haven't seen/read anything by him that isn't short-form Youtube content, but if those are the things that bother you about him, it's all good.

Gavin McInnis is an ex-punk from the same generation that spawned Tom Green and Johnny Knoxville and if you're aghast that he shoved something up his ass or said something OUTRAGEOUS then you're really missing the point.

I find it fascinating how he also squares this past away with being an "alt-light" public figure and defending corporatist republican autism. The same way its fascinating to watch SJWs go on about how they love rebelling and being a punk when they go around cheering on dudes like Gavin being deplatformed by corporatist PC liberal autisms.

I"m going to have to join the chorus here of never rely bieng sure how much of McInnes was real and how much was a joke, and I kind of tried to keep up with the guy for a while. I honestly never rely herd him say anything truly anti Islamic either, certainly Glen Beck of all people has said at least as much publicly against Islam.

You're right. Gavin possibly being a decent person isn't relevant. We defend even the worst cases because if we don't, we get what's happening now: it was okay for Alex Jones to be unpersoned (because muh Sandy Hook parents were retraumatized by conspiracy theories, oh lawd), so now it's okay for everyone else the progressive, retarded Left dislikes to be unpersoned, too.

Alex Jones to be unpersoned (because muh Sandy Hook parents were retraumatized by conspiracy theories, oh lawd)
To be clear, it wasn't people traumatized about about the existence of the conspiracy theories, but rather conspiracy theorists directly confronting them and harassing them personally. Shit like "you're a crisis actor, you never had a kid".

Maybe if they weren't such pussies their kids would still be alive.

Did alex jones do that? Because if pundits are responsible for anything done by anyone who has listened to them before, then I guess we gotta throw everyone in the media in jail.

I know. I don't care. It doesn't justify deplatforming Jones.

These people truly suffered when their children were killed. Nothing can be worse than that. I don't like that someone confronted them IRL with nutty denials and theories about those killings, but that's as far as my sympathy goes. Nutty people exist, and they will sperg about their insane theories from time to time to people who don't deserve it (look at the shit Buzz Aldrin has had to put up with), and it sucks, but that's life. They can handle it. The discomfort the parents feel over hurtful words is not as important as the terrible precident set by the deplatforming and unpersoning of Jones or anyone else. Because even people like Jones often serve an important purpose in public discourse.

And anyway, it's a lie that that's why Jones was deplatformed. That was the sympathetic excuse, but that wasn't the reason. Jones has been a hilarious wacko for a very long time, but he only had to be silenced after people so hated the openly partisan and contemptuous mainstream media that they trusted Infowars for election coverage over CNN and their ilk. That's why a dumb as shit phrase like "fake news" was coined, and that's why Jones was deplatformed.

As for Gavin, I guess I perhaps don't know enough about him, but his being deplatformed indefinitely seemed excessive. The proud boys was something that blew up way out of proportion. Gavin should have had more control and established much firmer boundaries with that group. Him distancing himself now is well after the harm has been done.

As for Alex Jones, that needed to happen. The man by promoting the conspiracy theories calling people crisis actors was engaging in pure slander. There was harm done.

I have said it before and a few of you took umbrage to it, but Society has rules. If you can't control yourself society has to.

Some of you seem to be unable to understand the boundary line so I will make it very clear. Harm. Harm is a legal concept it is the dividing line between acceptable and unacceptable. Harm is not offending someone, but it is causing damage. That clear line has been crossed by Alex Jones and the Proud Boys. Them offending people was not the harm. You can offend people and it isn't harmful despite what so many constantly triggered liberals say. I know there are all kinds of idiots who will say anything thing is an "intentional infliction of emotional distress", but most of that is bullshit and often they get laughed out. Harm requires a damage that is significant and measurable.

In the case of Alex Jones, it was using his show with a large audience to depict a group of despondent families as crisis actors. He knew better and had no hesitation in allowing it to happen all to score a political point. The lives of those grieving family members have been severely negatively impact because of Alex's decision. The fact that he pursued it showed intent, which makes the whole thing much worse. That is why I strongly feel Alex Jones should be deplatformed. The man has shown a willful disregard for the wellbeing of his fellow man and the law.

As for the Proud Boys, I would say that Gavin was negligent. The man had a duty to establish boundary lines for his events and didn't do so. Antifa is expected to be obnoxious violent jackasses. They honestly should be prosecuted more. Gavin allowing his group members to engage them was a mistake. Antifa are idiots who can be more than relied on to embarrass themselves. Recording them being stupid while your side is disciplined makes a more striking statement than actually choosing to engage what are often a sad group of LARP's who fantasize about a Marxist Revolution.

Alex Jones and Gavin are rising public figures. As their position and voice rises so also do the expectation of them and so also does the standard of which they are required to conduct themselves.

Part of having a free society is the expectation that you can govern yourselves. If you cannot govern yourself, then society has to do it for you. Being as reckless as Antifa or the latest failed crop of SJW's makes it likely that everyone will be brutally suppressed.

Tom Green has the same repellent personality and Gavin tbh, Johnny Knoxville gets a pass for all the other shit he's done to himself/had done to him.

Oh conspiracy theories like "The president of our country was installed by russians"? Weirdly people still keep saying that without being deplatformed. Or "Buzz Aldren never went to the moon". Isn't that slander? Wasn't harm done there? What about the 9-11 conspiracy shit? So nobody is allowed to be wrong about anything?

Because a powerful person (say a president or something) could easily say "Nope, it's slander to say I broke into the opposing party headquarters, and I'm being harmed by that accusation, so the accusers must be silenced".

The cases you are outlining fall into the category of significant public figures. The higher your position as a public figure means the higher a threshold a person has to establish harm.

Hustler Vs Falwell pretty much set the recent standard for this. There are varying tiers of this as well.

The only reason why the Newtown families are much lower public figures than the President of the United States, Buzz Aldren, or a powerful organization like a political party. The Newtown families had significantly fewer resources to clear their name than any of these very powerful people/organizations you mentioned have.

Ok that's how you feel about it, but what does that have to do with anything?

Alex Jones was never convicted of slander, and youtube isn't a court. So what the hell does some court decision have to do with any of this? Or basically is this the "punch up" of conspiracy theories, where 'Up' is defined as "At the approved targets"?

I and anyone else am allowed to say "I think those people are lying!" about any people at any time. They can be the most powerful people in the world, or the least.

There's a spectrum of culpability. He certainly had some hand in it.

It's not just one line, but several.

If you cross the line a little, people around you might stop talking to you.

If you cross the next line, businesses might not want to be associated with you.

If you cross yet another line, like inciting a riot, then the government might restrain you.

It doesn't need to be, youtube can choose who they do business with.

You really, really don't get it.

youtube can choose who they do business with.

Yeah, they don't have to bake the cake for that dirty faggot Alex Jones.
