The far-right bigot was kicked off Facebook and Twitter in recent months too.

Gavin McInnes, the founder of the violent neo-fascist gang the Proud Boys, was fired from Blaze Media, and his YouTube account was disabled ― the latest in a series of professional setbacks for the far-right bigot.

The Blaze, founded by conservative pundit Glenn Beck, merged with CRTV last week to form right-wing media giant Blaze Media. McInnes hosted a podcast with CRTV called “Get Off My Lawn,” which he used to discuss his anti-Muslim and misogynistic beliefs.

“Blaze Media no longer has a relationship with Gavin McInnes, and per company policy, cannot comment on personnel matters,” the company tweeted Saturday.

Asked for comment Monday about his firing, McInnes told HuffPost he believed “there has been a concerted effort to de-platform me” and claimed he was the victim of “lies and propaganda.”

“Someone very powerful decided long ago that I shouldn’t have a voice,” he wrote in an email. “I’m finally out of platforms and unable to defend myself. ... We are no longer living in a free country.”

McInnes, who co-founded Vice before leaving the media company in 2008, quit the Proud Boys last month a day after a report indicated that the FBI had described them as an “extremist group with ties to white nationalism.” The FBI has since denied classifying the group as an extremist group, The Washington Post reported Friday.

In October, members of the Proud Boys violently assaulted leftist protesters outside the Metropolitan Republican Club in Manhattan, where McInnes spoke earlier that evening. At least nine of them were arrested days later.

His ouster from Blaze comes after several social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter, banned him over their policies prohibiting hate speech and “violent extremist groups.” He has also been kicked off Amazon and PayPal.

The Daily Beast reported Monday that McInnes’ YouTube profile and channel have been deleted. McInnes said YouTube received complaints about copyright violations for old videos featured on his page.

A statement on his channel’s now-defunct page reads, “This account has been terminated because we received multiple third-party claims of copyright infringement regarding material the user posted.”

Asked if McInnes has been banned from the platform, a YouTube spokesperson said in a statement Monday that the company terminates the accounts of “repeat offenders.”

“When a copyright holder notifies us of a video that infringes on their copyright, we act quickly to remove content, as is required of us by law,” the spokesperson said.

According to YouTube’s copyright strikes policy, a copyright offender may submit a counternotification arguing that a video in question was “misidentified as infringing or qualifies as a potential fair use.”

McInnes told HuffPost he plans to file counternotifications for the copyright complaints.

On a completely unrelated note about using non-obvious tools to silence dissent:

The "anti-Soviet" political behavior of some individuals — being outspoken in their opposition to the authorities, demonstrating for reform, and writing critical books — were defined simultaneously as criminal acts (e.g., a violation of Articles 70 or 190-1), symptoms of mental illness (e.g., "delusion of reformism"), and susceptible to a ready-made diagnosis (e.g., "sluggish schizophrenia").[8] Within the boundaries of the diagnostic category, the symptoms of pessimism, poor social adaptation and conflict with authorities were themselves sufficient for a formal diagnosis of "sluggish schizophrenia."[9]

The psychiatric incarceration of certain individuals was prompted by their attempts to emigrate, to distribute or possess prohibited documents or books, to participate in civil rights protests and demonstrations, and become involved in forbidden religious activities.[10] The religious beliefs of prisoners, including those of well-educated former atheists who had become adherents of a religious faith, was considered to be a form of mental illness that required treatment.[11] The KGB routinely sent dissenters to psychiatrists for diagnosing to avoid embarrassing publiс trials and to discredit dissidence as the product of ill minds.[12] Highly classified government documents which have become available after the dissolution of the Soviet Union confirm that the authorities consciously used psychiatry as a tool to suppress dissent.[13]

That means they’re weak. Gavin will join Alex Jones or Anthony Cumia, so I guess he’ll do just fine,

Yeah, it does by definition mean they're weak in the physical world. For now. That could change. (But it won't. Not in America at least. Most people recognize these types are unhinged and are beyond sick of them, and those reasonable people are all armed. Europe might be fucked, though.)

But in the meantime, it's not great for civilization when a large faction of deranged moral busybodies are trying as hard as they can to fuck things up for the rest of us and disrupt the more-or-less peaceful coexistence we have. Especially when they are attacking the bedrock principle of freedom of speech and the institution of open debate

Before I ask this, I'll be upfront and say that I'm long, long time fan of Gavin(And even worked for him for awhile) so I'm pretty biased.

But what is people's problem with him? I'm not talking about SJWs, I'm talking about supposedly reasonable people who saying shit like "I think Gavin is dumb/a moron/whatever but this is bad." Like, what's to dislike about the guy? Are you taking the bait and thinking that Proud Boys is a racist thing? Is it because he has dumb tattoos? What's the deal?

Why do you see a need to defend him?

I'm not a conservative, but... I'm pretty sure its because he's very visible, he's kind of a hipster which is annoying, he's conservative, he appeals to a younger crowd, and he's not the kind of conservative to put up with progressive abuse while grinning a silent, polite grimace like good conservatives are supposed to do.

I don't think most people who "have an opinion" have any clue who the Proud Boys are or what they do. They have heard something vaguely about them being a group or club of conservative-leaning young men who have gotten into physical altercations with Anitfags, and the majority of the media says they're the instigators, and there were a few videos that maybe looked kind of bad for them, and everyone seems to dislike them, so the narrative is set: they're bad. And McInnes is extra bad because he's associated with them.

Regardless of your political alignment, shoving a dildo up your ass on camera for your web audience is a pretty big no-no for most sane people.

Not that I don't think the Proud Boys are exceptional, but it is amusing how the media goes out of their way to hide the fact that a good chunk of their membership is non-white. And that certain chapters (Los Angeles) are almost completely so.

At least they didn't outright call them "white supremacists" this time, maybe because someone in the private list where they concoct these hit pieces told them it looked really stupid to do that when the picture showed a group of people that were at most half white.
