Sorry if this is mentioned before, but Zoe did have her Wikipedia article, but with some stuff missing due to no reliable sources. This causes huge amounts of edit war.

So why wasn't it deleted in the first place?
Q3: Why does Wikipedia have an article on Zoe Quinn? Why doesn't Wikipedia delete it?
A3:
In order for a subject to have a article, they have to fulfill the notability guidelines. In the past, a consensus of editors has found that Quinn meets those guidelines. If you disagree, you are welcome to submit the article to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion yourself, but previous discussions there have resulted in the article not being deleted. Bringing up the matter here again is pointless, as articles are not deleted based on discussion on individual article talk pages.

The amazing edit war.

Fun fact: #gamergate is the reason Notch sold Mojang and quit being a developer.

It's certainly not the fact that Notch has said multiple times that he's tired of running a company and doesn't like working on huge games with no end in sight. And it REALLY isn't the fact that Notch will have to split $2.5billion in USD between 2 other people that convinced him to sell his company to Microsoft.

Nah, it's the fact that he's tired of being kicked around like Phil Fish and working for shitty demanding misogynistic asshole rapist bastard harassers (every one of you reading this thread).

Also, while you guys are feeling properly chastised, please ignore that the quotes used in the above article AREN'T EVEN RELATED TO #GAMERGATE and were cherry-picked excerpts used to fit their stance. The entire post by Notch is below from two days ago.

We Apologize – An Open Letter to Bungie from Gamers Enjoying Destiny
Dear Bungie,

On behalf of the entire team here at ++Good Games, we apologize for the way the Destiny reviews have been handled in by the gaming press this week.

Destiny walked into its own personal firestorm in the wake of the “#Gamergate” controversy which had put the ethics of video game journalism under a magnifying glass. Bungie’s title was the first major release since the “games journalism boil” ruptured and it appears in an attempt to secure the mindshare of gamers out there, Destiny was dragged across the coals for no other reason (from our perspective) other than a distraction from the news of what goes on behind the curtain.

Plus the multiplayer fanbase was collapsing with the EULA debacle and the death of major multiplayer software that several servers needed to function (my server included).

The thing that bugs me is he looked at Phil Fish as an example. Why the fuck would someone think that's the norm? There are tons of devs out there that have made more prestigious and profitable games but aren't constantly in the public eye. They do this thing called "Not tweeting fucking everything and spitting hateful vile". The internet also allows you a level of anonymity if you really want to express your opinion but not have your personal life attached to it. If Notch feels like his successful career is making it difficult to be "a nerdy computer programmer who likes to have opinions on Twitter" then yeah, he should step down.

I'm really becoming fascinated with how people can't seem to function without a twitter account openly and publicly associated with them. That if you say something stupid on twitter and enough people call you a dumbfuck then you're somehow being oppressed.

I'm looking at Johnathan Blow's reaction to #gamergate but he seems relatively neutral given the people he hangs out with. I was kind of expecting the worse since he seemed like one of the self-important indie game designers out there.

This article kind of tells us what we already know. Several gaming sites were unified in purposely not covering the gamegate story. Ben Kuchera (who just keeps showing up in all this shit) was trying to get other journalists to not cover the story and remove anything about it.

http://www.breitbart.com/Breitbart-...t-mailing-list-of-the-gaming-journalism-elite

"Maybe we should just use this as an excuse to give more attention to her work... I know I've been meaning to review Depression Quest since its Steam release."

Seriously? So their response to people accusing Zoe of sleeping with people for coverage is to use that outrage to get her more coverage?

Última edición:
Milo is going to be releasing names from the mailing list in the next few days. He better have further evidence of collaboration. If he drops some solid evidence then some people are going to lose a lot of credibility.

Some stuff is going on over twitter. Erik Kain, who did a soft article on #gamergate at forbes.com, asked Milo for the list of names and e-mails over twitter and Milo replied with..

"Then you should have broken the story"

I have mixed feeling about this. Why is one journalist asking another for his source info publicly over fucking twitter? While some petty part of me enjoys seeing Milo give Erik shit over not doing research when he had the chance to cover this story I still find it really unprofessional. However Erik's response is really interesting.

"a list in and of itself isn't damning. It depends on what's in it. Same applies to /v/ coordinating gamergate stuff."

Wait, did he really just make that comparison? A public irc chat anyone can join to a private mailing list filled with people in places of power who are capable of heavily controlling the flow of information? I don't... what? While it is important that more information comes out that makes the list of names matter I still find the comparison pretty fucking flimsy.

Edit: I find it hilarious that Jason Schreier, a senior writer at Kotaku, is being defensive to a user with the name "Sonichu1" over twitter. Holy fuck.

Última edición:
I just found out an indie game company I like, Gaslamp Games, supports Zoe Quinn's side and one of their devs has a tendency to go SJW on twitter apparently. I'm sad. :(

How defensive are we talking about?

Slightly. Jason was talking about how Milo hasn't tried to reach him to ask him any questions about this whole thing. The Sonichu1 person pointed out that Milo had asked Jason to join him on a talk show. Jason said that didn't count and felt the need to reaffirm how Milo hasn't emailed him. It was just weird to see a back-and-forth between the two.

It may be disappointing but I wouldn't let it hurt your enjoyment of their product (especially one as good as Dungeons of Dredmor). Just because I like Ender's Game doesn't mean I have to agree with Orson Scott Card's values.

I've posted too much in this thread but I'm just going to make this point. Some potentially major info came out today about game journalists. All the gamergate people are more concerned about that and where that will lead. I remember earlier making a point how Zoe tends to attention whore so I just checked her twitter to see what she's doing since now is the perfect time for her to just enjoy some of the heat being off her. Here's what I see..

"mark my words, one day I will take the cutest selfie with @femfreq and @PHIL_FISH and the internet will tear itself apart in rage"

"I have become human clickbait, destroyer of worlds, murderer of video games"

And also two random screenshots of the #burgersandfries irc chat where people go to talk about #gamergate.

There were others and they all mentioned #gamergate but you get the idea. All the tweets were made around the same time so she was just spewing this stuff out.

Sometimes you have to make a sacrifice to make a point, though.

So she's the Justin Bieber of video games.

Wow, she really does want to be an Internet punching bag.
