Oh, Emilia. You deserved so much better.

Like Daenerys or not, Emilia herself seems like a really lovely woman and I wish her the best.

You really couldn't fault any of the actors. Giving an A+ performance to an F- script doesn't really help all that much.

Even that dude that plays Bran did his dead level best to not phone it in. If anything some of his intonation and facial expressions gave me the feeling he knewhow bad it was for all of us to watch.

Amen brother.

I haven't given a shit since I laughed aloud at Ramsay's '20 Good Men' and Ramsay received his villain plot armor. And they excluded Euron who is scary as fuck. So basically I only cared about seasons 1 through 4 and haven't given a fuck about anyone since. People saying 'EIGHT YEARS OF MY LIFE', well, I stopped giving a shit like 5 years ago.

People forget, D&D chose to adapt 2 books in one season. And that was season 5. This was where the falling out with GRMM started. Each book is basically two seasons. Except 5. Which is all one season, which is where it REALLY went to shit. My bets are they got real fucking lazy and adapting 1-4 was hard as fuck so they got lazy. Then it all came off the rails on 6 since they were already fucking lazy, their sloth only spread. They let the popularity of the show carry itself. My bets were that they were actually 'done with this shit' since season 5, because you can't really cram 2 1,000 word books into a single season. Obviously, my aforementioned '3 act' GoT plot does not account for this and I basically disregard seasons 5. Technically, if you want to go with book adaptions and stretching them, we should probably be finishing up with 'A Dance of Dragons' right about now, so we'd be seeing Jon Snow merked.

So 5 is where they got lazy and my bets are they started to go 'fuck this shit'. People have noticed, including myself, that they were rushing. It started as a slow sprint, then a fucking blitz. Season 6 is where they let the lumbering of the show's popularity take it, which stretched into 7. This finally fell on its face when they clearly did NOT want to even do 7 seasons. I don't know what the fuck happened with these chucklefucks. I seriously don't. Did they just get high off the fame and decide to go on their own, which fumbled badly, leading to the falling out with Martin, who was pissed they condensed books?

I have no idea. But whatever it is, their creative spark is burned out. They clearly were not able to handle the load of the series and not stretching the material out was a huge fucking mistake. Maybe they thought the politics were too much or the thing too dry, who knows. But to condense the books was clearly a gigantic mistake that basically destroyed the whole show. It started with that bad decision, which then lead to other bad decisions.

People who think season 8 is 'good' are idiots filling in plot outlines. Yes, it was set-up that Dany MIGHT go insane. We do not see any of the pay-off. Her burning PoWs, yeah, no shit. But she is literally BURNING HER OWN CAPITAL CITY, THAT SHE JUST CAPTURED, TO THE FUCKING GROUND, BECAUSE THEY SURRENDERED. As soon as the bell is rung, she's queen. That's it. And she sacks her own fucking capital. Every fucking country is war exhausted and you just did irreparable damage to the HOME of your EMPIRE. That you just fucking got. That's some 'BURN THEM ALL' for hours level tier of insane. There is NO setup for THAT LEVEL of batshit, and nothing you can do will convince me otherwise. You just filled in the blanks with your tiny brain because you need a good resolution for the fucking dog vomit of whatever they're doing.

There is literally maybe a handful of scenes over the course of the series that 'set up' what is going on. I don't know what they thought they were doing. I mean, laziness is just fan service right? Exactly. This isn't laziness. This is intentional fucking sabotage. If they wanted to be lazy, they would have done all the shit they've done, except they'd just to fan service resolutions. Dany and Jon will be married, Tormund and Ghost will go on adventures, Cersi will die alone, Jamie will fuck Brienne and Arya will, I don't know. Who knows.

But this is active fucking sabotage here. This isn't subvert your expectations. This is fucking premeditated murder. You have actors talking to you, going 'This makes no sense.' And you're just actively ignoring them. Fucking heart-breaking. You have to think, if they're lazy and didn't want to do it anymore, they'd go with the most fan-service route, end the series with a middling, but serviceable finale. A mediocre end to a great show. Fine, happens all the time. But this is like, a once in a life-time event. This is the ME 3 of television. You have a valuable property and you BURN IT TO THE FUCKING GROUND. FOR NO REASON. Well, there is a reason, these two guys are vindictive cunts, hate the fanbase, hate the material and didn't give a fuck about their rep because some dunce at Lucasfilm just gave them probably a quarter of a billion to make 3 Star Wars movies.

The fact that no executives at HBO didn't break down their fucking door and scream in their faces is a testament to the incompetency of executives. Or they had full creative control and everyone just had to watch in fucking horror as these two vindictive cunts smiled like 'UP DA BUM' man and rammed the titanic full speed into an oil ship. The only explanation for this shit-tier level of writing is vindictiveness...

These are ultimately my feelings. This level of awful writing isn't mere incompetence. There seems to be a malicious intent to purposely deliver the worst ending possible and render all of the characters and plotlines meaningless.

In the end Jon chose to be Ancap. He can have all the wilding pussy he wants since no laws extend beyond the wall and wildings own no land to begin with. I mean look at all the women who greet him upon first entering.

Honestly, everyone in that was done dirty by the bad writing and character assassination.

you know what's worse?
that this is yet ANOTHER modern mythology and cultural gem that has been recklessly destroyed for no real reason by people with literal billions to throw around because fuck it, and fuck you too for asking
you want to be a writer for a multi-million dollar blockbuster? remove everything from your brain about how to write whatsoever. there, now you can write star wars episode X, and we'll give you $500 million up front just because that's how we do it, and fuck the consequences, nothing actually matters, and i mean it's all subjective anyway, i mean you're just gunna give us your money regardless, right?

With the state of the 7 Kingdoms right now, I wonder how hard the free cities are gonna fuck them and enslave their people. Its like an open buffet.
The Dothraki and Unsullied are headed back to the free cities. They’re also mega cheesed. It’s going to be a violent time in Slavers Bay.

That would be subverting expectations a little too hard and by that I mean it would actually be an interesting outcome for the rich free cities to start raping the utter hell out of the feudal backwater that is Westeros.

We can't have nice things.

COMPLAINTS (trying to be chronological but added as I think of them)
Lol Tyrion talking to Jon about how Dany always had the potential for this was directed straight at the audience. Also, always Dinklage brought his A-game no matter what was thrown at him. All the actors did, really, but Dinklage especially.

Killing of Dany was...anticlimactic. Although I did feel bad for poor Drogon. Not his fault mama went crazy.

I assume Davos summoned all the nobles, but why the hell didn't the Unsullied just execute Jon and Tyrion while waiting for them to arrive?

How the fuck did Edmure get there? Last we heard of him he was being taken to Casterly Rock, then wasn't mentioned when the Unsullied took the Rock last season. Bizarre decision to bring him back just to reinforce what a dumbass he is.

Also lol they never explained who the Dornish dude is.

Yara makes it sound like she and Cersei had personal beef even though they never really interacted? Also why didn't she declare the Iron Islands independent when Sansa declared the North independent?

So the Unsullied are leaving? So they could just say "yeah, never mind" and bring Jon back haha

ALL OF THE ABOVE SAID
I liked pretty much everything after the Dragonpit. Brienne writing Jaime's page was well done, the Small Council scene had a nice "here we go again" tinge to it, and I enjoyed the ending montage, especially Jon deciding to go north with the Wildlings. And he petted Ghost!

Wonder how soon the sequel movie will be in production...

Also, watch Barry. It's very good. Hader is excellent in it.
