I'd really hate to be someone who waited 8 years to see who would sit on the throne, only for it to actually be nobody.
 
I always figured that someone would end up on the Iron Throne, but that the realm would have shattered into it's individual kingdoms since it's near impossible to keep a realm that size together without dragons. So, the person sitting on the Throne would only really control Kings Landing.

not watching, but if the throne was just melted, I bet people would fucking grab pieces of it as souvenirs, then pretty much everyone is going to sit on it, may be even push some of it in asshole.

that means, not only you lost the bet, you it's exactly the opposite of what your were saying, anyone and everyone will sit on the iron throne.
 
I mean, I'd put my money* on no-one sitting the throne, but I wasn't suspecting it like this.

*Not literally, though I wish I had.

Also they just replaced monarchy with an oligarchy. This was also not an uncommon practice. Elections of rulers by powerful councils was no mean unheard of.
