I am usually not the one to shit on capitalism but big companies took full advantage of the Chinese not giving a shit about their own people and locking them in sweatshops, and now the ice cream is licking back with companies like Tencent having absolute fuck you money and buying into everything.

As far as censorship and brainwashing goes it can completely fuck with people's head, I see it in a much smaller scale where I live and people, especially those in rural areas with shitty access to free information and old people, can be completely brainwashed with 1-2 agendas that "help" them.

I am curious how the country will fare after the death of Xi, there's a massive cult of personality around him (he's called the People's Leader, something only Mao was called before) and those kinds of governments don't fare well after said personality dies.

If anyone want a rundown on the conspiracy theory rabbit hole that's tech companies getting in bed with China here's a talking cat ranting about it.

I'm honestly cautiously optimistic about what will happen, since it's easier to topple a regime where power is invested in one individual than it is to topple one with clearly-defined lines of succession. In consolidating power and getting rid of presidential term limits, Xi basically elevated his own interests and the CPC's short-term interests over the CPC's long-term interests.

The fact that the Chinese middle class continues to grow will also put some pressure on the CPC. While their propaganda and censorship efforts certainly dampen demand for increased freedoms and participation, they can't eliminate it completely. Additionally, 70-80 years is roughly the length of time one-party regimes have managed to last, which is where the People's Republic of China is at.

Regardless, it probably won't be a dramatic downfall; nothing like the Berlin Wall falling, Gaddafi taking a bayonet to the ass, or Hitler blowing his brains out. I'd imagine that it will be more like Taiwan with the Kuomintang, where the party organizes a transition to democracy on their terms out of necessity.

After the policies of mao being a complete failure , deng xiopeng wanted china to be able to compete with west . There were no model follow to do so around the world but there was rise of singapore around the same time period . So deng sent 100s of diplomats to singapore to learn how they operate and how the system was to be reorganised for efficiency. Deng didn't become a chairmen of party but controlled everything inspite of it . Jiang jemin was made the head and the ideology of the country change to state capitalist or socialism with chinese characteristics . Lee kyun yew was proudly chinese in heritage and hated the west of colonalism , the same ideas of pragmatic central planing with flexible capitalist companies behold to the state is what lee taught china.

That's really informative actually. Ironic that now all the ASEAN countries are pro US, even Vietnam because of having been bullied by China with regards to conflicts in the South China Sea. Without US involvement in the region, China could easily overpower Southeast Asia.

Vietnam has a long history opposing China in all its incarnations. Nearly all of Vietnam's wars of independence were against China and a lot of their national mythology revolves around the folk heroes that opposed the mighty Chinese empire. During the Indochina wars when North Vietnam was under the same ideological banner as the Chinese there was still a lot of internal opposition within the CPV about whether or not to take Chinese aid. Where possible the Viets actually preferred to take aid directly from the Soviet Union, for taking it directly from China would have violated national psyche about their bugbear to the north.

LOL no. Germany has never been known as the land of cheap shit. Even in the Middle Ages the Germans were known for high quality manufacturing of weapons, armor, and various other products. Germany has been known as the land of expensive but top tier firearms pretty much ever since commercial firearms first became a thing. There's a reason the C96 Mauser was absolutely everywhere at the dawn of automatic weapons.

He's referencing the history of "Made in Germany". Which used to be something the Brits forced on every German product in a time where Britain was still the leader of industrialisation. Some German products were falsely labelled as being products of trusted British companies and German imports were generally considered inferior to British manufactured goods.
Germany caught up pretty quickly and it soon became a mark of quality instead but that's not how it started out.

I'm perfectly fine with the Chinese. They can be lovely, hard-working, dignified people with a rich culture and fascinating history. I fucking loathe the Chinese Communist Party and every day I wish to see the Chinese Government fall, their leaders executed by the Chinese people, and to see liberty and prosperity come to China. The CCP has been holding back the good people of China since it's conception. It has stripped them of their freedom, their cultural identity, their religious and cultural traditions, their dignity, and their self respect. The CCP see their people as nothing but cogs in a machine or resources to be used up and discarded when they no longer are useful. And don't even get me started on the literal slave labor and organ harvesting the CCP imposes on religious minorities in China. The CCP is a nest of vipers, trators to their own people and a threat to the peace and safety of every man, woman, and child on this planet. Fuck the Chinese Communist Party. Every high-ranking member of the CCP deserves an agonizing death.
 
China is my least favorite country. I'm mad that people don't hate China as much as I do in real life.
 
I hate how they allow shoddy construction of buildings with weak materials that quickly crumble and fall apart. Hearing about gutter oil being used for cooking is utterly disgusting. Plus their lack of environmental protections and standards of hygiene is the pits.
