The casting couch stuff with the wiggers has been joked about for years. I didn't think it was really confirmed Jet was with Ellie and was cheating on her before her suicide, but it was I guess. Don't know how to feel about that exactly. On the one hand it's never really someone's fault when someone else makes a decision to commit suicide. But, I can see how it would have exacerbated Ellie's condition. Depressed and terminally online, goes on fishtank, thinks things are turning around but then her first real relationship she gets cheated on and sent back home to just stew in it all. What a nightmare.
So sad that she was so young. Around the same age I'm sure a lot of us were in a similar place, and are glad now we never went through with it. Just so sad.
In regards to fishtank as an actual show, I wonder if this might be the end. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see Jet on camera again at least. I feel like this is the point where the Jet memes hit terminal velocity and will be literally inescapable on the show. Trying to picture what the next season would even look like with all of the TTS coming in, all of it censored, who knows. Obviously the Marky situation didn't stop them but how many names words and phrases need to be filtered now? List just grows every season. I really don't know how the future looks, if there is one.
All I can really articulate is the feeling it gives me which is just sadness and disgust. I'm familiar with the whole fishtank sphere, and knew of Jet on r9k way back before he ever linked up with Sam, so I get this whole world and I'm not surprised people in it would be dying of suicide necessarily, but it's shocking either way. I'm really not sure what comes next if anything.
Optimistic of you to think that the autist who didn't know how to tie his shoes would be able to tie a noose. It would be like a comedy skit: He walks into the woods with a rope, throws it onto a branch, stares at it blankly, then goes "Oh right, I don't know how to tie a noose, per se".
