Serously though... From everything that's come out, her home life was deeply dysfunctional. I don't know every detail, but it appears both of her parents were largely absent to put it lightly. Much of the responsibility for raising her fell to an older sister who was barely an adult herself and had her own life she was trying to build. Imagine growing up feeling like you're being passed around because no one wants to be bothered to raise you. Imagine being raised by someone who is still trying to figure out adulthood themselves.

I've also seen claims of sexual abuse connected to her upbringing through her mother who may or may not be a crack whore, though I don't know enough to say whether those claims have been substantiated, so if someone has reliable information, feel free to clarify.
After seeing her sister's weird ass reddit posts, I'm starting to doubt a lot of what these girls have said. It's almost too perfect of a sob story and conflicts with the fact they're Californian homeowners who seemingly don't have to work real jobs in order to live in a state with one of the highest CoL's on the planet.

It seems way more likely her mom was some kind of druggie, her dad wanted nothing to do with it and either fucked off to Hawaii or some Asian country to go live with his new wife and financially supports his kids fully, and there's no substance or record to claims that they've lived in poverty/abusive situations. Like yeah, her mom probably used drugs and dated shitheads but claims she was "always having sex in front of ellie" are just verbal allegations(from two young girls who are known to lie on the internet for attention)

Something went wrong in Ellie's upbringing for sure, but my chips are squarely on "discord groomers and unrestricted internet access" rather than "horrible abusive poverty upbringing"

Fuck it, I looked into this a bit:
Her sister grew up with her parents, presumably in the USA and then moved to Hong Kong to launch a modeling career. Lived in HK for awhile and became popular on the Korean internet. Ellie was the second child and the marriage fell apart sometime during her childhood.
Sister moves back to the USA, marries nepo-kid who's family runs BJJ gyms in 2015, divorces sometime between then and now. So this "I only recently got in-contact with my sister" mention on reddit actually seems true.

also just found out her sister streamed on twitch like 6-7 years ago, so that's probably when she moved back from HK and around the same time she started living with Ellie. fucking hell.

also she was in a music video with G-DRAGON:

I would argue that the overwhelming majority of children of druggies are also victims of abuse whether there's a trail of evidence or not, it's just the nature of it, and the abuse is likely to come in the form of a subtle impact over years rather than a single explosive incident (hopefully)

it's inherently abusive(rather, negligent) to be an active addict while having any kind of duty of care over children, but I think we all know what I meant. it's "my mom's high and largely-absent and maybe I heard her fucking some guy" rather than "living in a crack shack with parents that beat or molest you" - not saying it was all sunshine and rainbows for them.

also, asian dad and italian mom, there were probably beatings. probably a fucked childhood in general, just not exactly what they're insinuating with the whole "we're two poor kids all by ourselves" shit, they seem to have never had an issue with money or low social-status.

@Blindeye nailed it on how this is a problem

her dad wanted nothing to do with it and either fucked off to Hawaii or some Asian country to go live with his new wife and financially supports his kids fully
This is EBT tribe behavior. This guy just goes the extra mile with his child support payments. What kind of man abandons his child?

Like yeah, her mom probably used drugs and dated shitheads
Unstable homes are typically rife with abuse.

I heard her fucking some guy
I consider this sexual abuse, children don’t need to be listening to what amounts to a porno while they are growing up. Especially if it’s repeated exposure.

nons, they're all like that. asians especially just see a family as a business transaction and structure to build wealth.

That it 100% is. I'm more talking about the fact that it looks like Ellie was only temporarily in a bad environment and had people supporting her throughout her life, never having to worry about money or lack of opportunity like someone who actually grew up in an impoverished abusive home/ foster care system / streets - which contradicts, or at the very-least minimizes the impact of a lot of what she said on fishtank and frankly makes me doubt the validity of their claims.

I don't think it's right to reduce the impact of that type of abuse/neglect to just material opportunity and wealth, the psychosocial dynamics between parent and child fuck a person up deeply and permanently even if all their basic needs are always met, and you can always find stability and security later but there's no substitute for proper parenting during formative stages that will imprint permanently

So maybe a BPD girl who was exaggerating certain bad things about her life? Much like a certain Turkey Tom's ex that went on the farms a couple months back?

It is fucked to speculate on this without conclusive evidence because Ellie clearly had serious issues and her death is unironically sad and fucked up, so I will refrain from doing so further - however there are doubts cast on the validity of the allegations that her parents were even abusive to begin with.
There are many roads that lead to atypical living and family situations, and to speculate on which one is the objective truth by combing through a dead teenagers statements to find inconsistencies feels wrong

We have enough information to conclude that her home life was an absolute train wreck and she didn’t get the support and structure she needed from said people.

I’m not saying the girl was chained to a radiator and sexual abused or beaten, but abuse doesn’t have to be physical or immediate either. I think she grew up in a pretty toxic environment and that by itself has a compounding effect over time that people can not understand with out having experienced it or seen it. I’m sure she did experience many uncomfortable things, like we all do, growing up and unlike her we had people to guide us through it. I don’t think her life was in any way normal and I do ultimately think her upbringing coupled with absentee/inexperienced guardians are what resulted in suicide.

I don’t mean to pivot hard into something so completely unrelated, but in the columbine shooting if either parent of either family just gone into the bedrooms of the shooter and had a look around all of it could of been avoided. Guns, knives, bombs, journals, communications, and everything else was present in their bedrooms. They never once gave their kids the actual time of day. They were doing fine in school grade wise, they were doing their extra carriculars, they worked part time jobs, and would often go out with known friends. Everything looked fine on paper, all the box’s were checked. Young people aren’t a list of boxes to be checked though.

For me personally, all evidence points toward Ellie never getting the deep level of involvement a young woman needs and that’s what lead to her dying. When your teen sister wants to spend her summer in an internet trap house and then runs off to be some dysgenic looking loser’s live in girl friend you don’t say “okay, you’re 18 now, have fun!”. This by itself probably encapsulates her entire life’s experience.

How did this take so long?

I thought the whole point of being a drug dealer at this tier (i.e. the "in-person haggle & delivery mule" role) meant "get in, do business, get out as fast as possible." How did this actually require ten minutes of monkeyshines to conduct what should have been a thirty-second transaction? Literally every second the dealer is in the presence of his customer, he's in his most vulnerable position (police dream of catching dealers in the act, since they score two arrests at once and can play one off the other for higher conviction rates). Reducing that exposure should be his top priority.

No fucking wonder junkies and dealers get caught so much.

He leaked a coke dealer's number live on stream to the fishtank community he'll be lucky if he isn't already fucking dead. People were probably already calling him when he was walking up the stairs. He's really lucky it was at like 5 in the morning and only 90 people were watching.

160 IQ btw.
I would be incredibly sad if Burt became another statistic

The idea of a drug dealer hunting him down to James Drake’s camp though…

ALSO. Tired of the doomers. Jet literally found a formula to print money, even if Fishtank ends, I fully believe he’d put together some successor

I'm sure Jet has like 500 girls in his DM's that are all doing the seig-heiling quirk chungus BPD "notice me senpai" thing, He could just like privately date any of them and it wouldn't harm the show - even if the relationship goes in a horrifically bad direction.
The reason they are in his DMs is mostly because has has clout, and can get them on the show. If Jet tries to "date" these girls without offering them some sort of fame, he's going to have WAY less success and tons of embarssing messages leaked to the FTL fanbase.

Besides, these women are all mentally insane whores. They will at some point have a meltdown because they are either BPD or are in need of a boost of attention to their socials once the small boost of clout dies down.
