Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I am immediately reminded of that brief period of time where Memoria Misera EX had, like, 3 different strats for handling the puddle drop + rotating AoE cones back when I first looked into it, yet when I go look up text breakdowns and visual guides for the fight now, it seems to be that the currently agreed-upon strategy is just for everyone to head to the furthest point of their assigned cardinal/intercardinal positions to drop the initial puddle, then move back in and do small shifts left or right then back to their original positions depending on which way the rotating indicator was going, which sounds infinitely better for ease of dealing with the mechanic and maintaining uptime than the retarded shit I was seeing back then like "everyone stacks their puddles together behind the boss, then sprints left or right to dodge the rotating AoEs."
Sounds like an PF moment. PF overcomplicates shit because some guide makers tend to rush out the first strat that works regardless of how effective it is as long as it clears the mechanic, so you just get a lot of division in PF for a little while as different people watch different guide makers. Written guides tend to be better assuming they aren't rushed out as they're usually made by someone who at least tried a few different strats with a generally competent static and settled one on generally effective strat that is reasonably digestible for PF. Pug strats are always weird as you can't expect perfect complex positioning, but you don't want to do some shitty overly safe mess that makes it harder to make the dps check harder when PF can barely do their rotation on a target dummy.

I've left my FC and static on Crystal due to being benched over my refusal to suck the tranny cock on twitter. That's not actually the reason they gave but I can read between the lines because the push to get me out happened around the same time our chief troon suddenly came back and wanted to raid again.

Anyway, my last ties to the DC are dead. Anyone got any suggestions for a good world on Primal I can move to? I did like 1-50 on an alt there and enjoyed the DF groups I got.
I've been on primal for awhile, I wouldn't call them based or anything but I've had some pretty decent back and forths that don't involve sucking tranny dick and relatively few people are whiny bitches compared to what I hear about in Crystal. I remember someone was reeeeeing about early pulling a fate in Eureka (Pagos) by accident, and that person just held the fate while everyone sat around for the next minute and someone was reeeeeeing in shout chat about early pulling and the next 20 minutes was spent calling that guy a retard like "Why am I being told how to Eureka by a level 27?".

I once had an hour long conversation about Chris Chan after he raped his mother in Diadem while leveling Miner, and enlightened some people about how Chris Chan lit his house on fire. Very few people were trying to be particular with pronouns or reeeeeeeing if you call him Chris Chan instead of Christine or whatever "her" name was, no one was really sympathetic either everyone just agreed he raped his mother. You got some brothel rp shit and a bunch of bars that I'm sure how some weird shit going on, but meh not a huge thing compared to Balmung. I don't know the servers too well, Hyperion I know has the one brothel and Leviathan was known as the tryhard parser server back in mid HW-early SB but I don't know if that's changed at all.

What the hell did you do to set the tranny off?

I was too autistic about raiding and didn't notice all the lore talk. Are people really playing the game with a notebook to take notes like it's school?

It's apparently a thing this Pyromancer streamer does. He's totally overthinking this.

You don't have to do anything to set XIV trannies off in my experience.

I made myself public enemy #1 years ago on Coeurl just for quietly leaving a local troon celebrity's Linkshell that I got invited to and then basically telling them to "lol calm down" a couple of times whenever they tardraged at friends/associates for the odd wipe or two during premade EX farms.

Tbf, even back then the strat you're describing was essentially the standard. But I suppose it depends on the DC too., since some standardize faster than others. Well that and PF is always gonna be dumb and people are gonna try stupid strats despite standard strats.
They knew about my twitter. I'm guilty of wrongthink, especially since I follow and retweet a lot of TERF-y lesbians.
How'd they find out about your twitter? Just curious...

Looks like I'm not the only one that got roped into Crystal over an FC/friends playing on it.
For every decent/nice person, there's five cliquey weirdos that want you to suck some type of dick in order to interact with them and ten more retards that never learned how to read a room. I've had Praetorium runs and Crystal Tower runs where two or three people just converse casually in Alliance/Party chat and talk over everyone else like they don't exist, I can think of times some faggot audibly kept talking about their fetishes (and they were odd ones). Even with sprouts present, that's happened. More than once. Only on Crystal, amirite?

I've been replaying the game with an alt on Primal, and it's so much better I can't believe it. A decent balance of casuals and tryhards, people don't shit their pants if you aren't in their clique and just casually converse with them, people don't carebear when sprouts or rusty veterans make mistakes or don't learn and actually give decent advice. Or maybe my standards are just bog level after what I've seen and dealt with, but I'd rather have Brazilians than deal with at least two audibly gay Hrothgar trying to start something in a city-state's Shout chat every other week.
I'm not really an expert on the community of Primal, but here's what I've gotten out of personal experience and word of mouth: Lamia and Exodus are pretty relaxed, Excalibur, Leviathan and Ultros are more hardcore in terms of playerbase (not as much as Aether, since Primal is more balanced), Hyperion is the huehue containment zone and Famfrit is pretty relaxed but has some weird shit going on in Limsa, but to be fair, this is Limsa we're talking about.

I just recalled the "official" name of the the other two strats being "fan" and "bowtie" and I found the visual aids for them:

Memoria_Misera_(Extreme)_Fortius_Fan_Cleave_1.png
Memoria_Misera_(Extreme)_Fortius_Fan_Cleave_2.png

Supposedly good for maximizing safe zones. Noted potential difficulty for slow players to get hit by the second cleave and die, and for people to clip each other with Loaded Gunshield.

Memoria_Misera_(Extreme)_Fortius_Shield_Cleave_1.png
Memoria_Misera_(Extreme)_Fortius_Shield_Cleave_2.png
Memoria_Misera_(Extreme)_Fortius_Shield_Cleave_4.png

Supposedly good for slowies and Brazilians with bad ping. Noted increase of movement, bad baiting leading to a messy clock pattern instead of a bowtie, and, once again, creates a higher risk of people clipping each other with Loaded Gunshield.

Or you could just avoid the inherent complications with either strat and default to the Clock, which is popular for its ease of implementation, or so I can imagine. Apparently "fan" is considered uncommon, whereas "bowtie" is considered incredibly rare to see used, and I figure the only reason you'd use either one of these strats is if you're in a situation where you're forced to cope with a retard who can't handle the simple instruction of "run as far back to the wall as possible, drop your puddle, run back within range of the boss, and then just slightly move to one side and then back for each AoE cast". And even then, I wouldn't trust the retards who have to employ those strats not to blow each other up to Loaded Gunshield anyway.

It's not exactly hard to find someone's twitter if you have a discord username. Especially when that person posts about their clears on twitter and trannies have literally no life outside of MMORPGs and twitter.

It is just that Pyromancer guy who feels compelled to say [REDACTED] when talking about World of [REDACTED DUE TO 30 YEAR OLD MEN]. He's trying to become a lore scholar for FFXIV because that is what he was for World of [REDACTED DUE TO NEVER SERVING]

To be fair, I'd take Pyro over Ethys Asher. And even if Pyro doesn't stick around, I'd enjoy watching Ethys have a meltie over someone muscling in on his small pond.

FFXIV lore is straight forward and not a mess of retcons and bullshit like Star Wars or WoW. Most of the "lore masters" are people who pay attention to the MSQ and re-visit something once in a while. During the terrible gameshow they did for fanfest, one of the supposed lore masters couldn't even get the elemental weaknesses correct when talking about astral and umbral triangles. When they tried calling him in again like they do in "Who wants to be a millionaire", he wouldn't answer the call.

While FFXIV's lore is relatively straight forward, especially compared to things like Star Wars and WoW with dozens of supplemental material, but some things beyond the MSQ are split across multiple side quests that are released sometimes years apart that it is easy to forget a lot of finer details especially as a more casual viewer. The War of the Magi for example has the following relevant questlines and events related to it.

The Void Ark questline, 4 job quests (RDM, BLM, WHM, and SCH), the four Amdapor related dungeons (which are all optional), and Wanderer's Palace (due to Scholar's connection). It is a good bit to keep straight especially for a more casual viewer who's doing all this stuff at random whims instead of as this content was released. I'm also pretty sure their are a few other things like Gelmorra I believe was relevant during that time period, and Ala Mhigo was founded entirely because of the aftermath of the War of the Magi which lead into Red Mage being tied to Ala Mhigo.

So while it is straight forward, it is also fragmented within the game itself as you don't really see the full picture of say the War of the Magi until at least 4 years into the game's life and that isn't even going into whatever the actual lorebooks have to add further context. Plus some flavor text in fates and actual side quests (not the blue + marks) can also add something to the overall whole of an area's history. Even fucking Hildebrand has lore in it, some of which is actually pretty relevant to the world at large even if it isn't tied to the MSQ like Ul'dah's old neighboring nation.

And here I was starting to wonder if they'd abandoned ship yet for Project Triangle Strategy or not.

They should let War of the Visions die already though. There's you a shitty mobile game that runs entirely on whaling and FOMO.

I was so hyped on War of the Vision, I was expecting to be a mobile FFT.
First thing I saw after completing a tutorial, a fucking real money token shit.
Instant garbage.

The more I look at SE's mobile offerings, the more impressed I am by Yoshi-P's ability to wall off FFXIV from the worst of the cash-shop/gacha zeitgeist.

Anyway, my last ties to the DC are dead. Anyone got any suggestions for a good world on Primal I can move to? I did like 1-50 on an alt there and enjoyed the DF groups I got.
Sorry for the last reply, my last keyboard wasn't gelling well with the new desktop. But Primal, yeah I would recommend Hyperion (although there's still your average sex pest retards and the main ones will make an announcement here and there) or Lamia if you want to kick back or Leviathan if you're more into hardcore raiding. But stay away from Ultros since it's Primal's retard central and loaded with retarded tranny furfags and tryhard Rick & Monty IQ cringe level trolls.
