Final Fantasy XIV - Kiwi Free Company

I recently started playing FFXIV and I am having fun just running around, doing some dailies and dungeons and story missions, the standard stuff.

So far I haven't met anyone who was rude/passive-aggressive, but I did meet some big brain individuals. Tanks that cannot keep aggro, healers that run out of MP instantly and DPSes not clearing the adds etc. But we always pulled through eventually.

Quick question: How much Final Fantasy 12 inspired content is there? I know 12 had a shit story and people didn't like the combat, but I loved the setting and some of the designs. I think I saw some FFXII inspired armor sets that you get from doing raids/trials or someting similar?

Also, I didn't know gathering stuff and crafting could be this relaxing.
I think Rabnastre was the closest to 12 content we got and it even features its most iconic character Fran.

I'm guessing someone Asmon that SE is more strict about what you can say so he's going to behave and refrain from shitposting. I'm not a fan and I don't typically watch big name streamers but I am interested in the mindset of a WoWfag playing XIV for the first time.

Put it this way, YoshiP is a big Matsuno fan. The number one reason he wanted to work at Square was because he wanted to work with Matsuno. Other than that, Akihiko Yoshida was the art director for both but he was already on the project since 1.0 so they have the same aesthetic. The guy who did the UI design also worked on XII.
If you played Tactics Ogre, plenty of armor sets was inspired by it too and you could literally fight one of the characters as a boss. It's Nybeth in Palace of the Dead.
There was an article about how the Ivalice games was used as inspiration, I'll see if I could find it.

To be honest, I myself haven't dug too far into it. I know there are some reagents you can only get through gardening and crossbreeding plants to create seeds you couldn't get otherwise. Thavnairian Onions are the ones I chose, as you need to feed your chocobo them every level after level 10 in order to for it to continue gaining EXP.
The hell? You can level your bird past 10? Seems a tad pointless, but still kinda cool.

14 is all but confirmed to be a distant continuation of 12's world. They like to keep things open to interpretation, but unlike other crossovers, its built into mythology instead of being summoned from somewhere else.

You can reach the Return to Ivalice set of three 24 man raids, when your lvl 70 in Stormblood. It weaves FF tactics and 12 together, along with a brief mention of characters from Vagrant Story.

Then when you beat shadowbringers, you can start the Bozjan questlines and indirectly assist Dalmasca in two sets of Adventuring Forays. Basically open world battles with up to 70 or so players. Cool at first, but repetitive if your looking to grind for certain things. Costumes are not too hard to get thankfully, You can dress up as a judge and certain ff12 characters.

People should rightfully get pissed off that a higher up of a company is acting unprofessional and supporting very bad behavior. Especially since Blizzard has shown this passive arrogance in the past.
It is such a dam shame what is happening with Blizzard these days. Didn't Yoshi P want to do a collaboration event with em? That seems less and less likely these days.

nnnnnnot really.

FFXIV's creation mythology is completely different from the main Ivalice Chronology. Moreover, it's easily provable with the first Ivalician raid in FFXIV - it places Rabanastre on top of a more ancient Lesalia, when those two citys weren't even near each other, let alone in that order.

Having the crossover be a series of ancient histories just makes sense when the reference is to a series of games spread out over a large timeline.

Not all FFXIV crossovers are from another world, and just because it's not from another world doesn't mean it's the actual thing. The whole crystal tower raid and Xande are all from FF3 - but they're not FF3's Xande and Crystal Tower.

Haha, nice.

Watching his Sastasha run. I get that he's new but it's a little frustrating to see him kite when that's not a thing and nobody is telling him.

Yeah, Matsuno on twitter even said that they're not the same continuity. A sign of that is the timeline is reversed and some details are changed (Ashe and Rassler being siblings instead of lovers and Olan not executed)

No, none of it's true.

1: Kiwi Farms largely keeps to itself. You're looking for 4chan.
2: The standard abbreviations and c*nsoring have never stopped us finding these messages. The whole premise is flawed, because if it's clear enough to the twitter population who it is you're talking about, chances are they can find it easily.

Why would you want less people to play/be interested in the MMO that you play?

I imagine these people don't care much about the game having a healthy player count and thriving so long as they can RP a catgirl in guild chat.

The perennial buzzword: Gatekeeping.
They only want their own subspecies of humans playing the game because it the only way rabid ERPing genetic dead-ends like this
can have anything resembling sex.
