I watched some of the VOD of him in the first dungeon and he did better than most current players at level cap. He used overpower on 3+ enemies and used his abilities/cooldowns. He said he enjoyed his time besides the mob making it unbearable when he first started out.

To be honest, I imagine that if he had blacked out the screen while selecting a datacenter and hidden his server while playing, he probably could've thinned out some of the horde as it'd take more effort to find him. Though that being said the fallout over this was pretty funny.

Asmon, despite the persona he plays and his crippling addiction to World of Warcraft, is actually a pretty damn well spoken and thoughtful guy. And his moral compass tends to always point in a pretty decent direction. Some examples:

Even after those speds chasing him, he still had a good time which is what matters.
 
I'm normally not entirely in support of Asmongold as he has a demonstrated tendency to talk out of his ass a lot of the time (while, granted, he occasionally hits the nail on the head with some of the points he talks about), but the amount of seething he seems to have incited just by playing XIV is comic gold.

That said, I kind of dread logging into Cactuar because I'm betting the queue time is more ridiculous than usual right now and I'm assuming shout chat's a mess. But since Limsa and Eulmore seem to be the primary social centers of the server, maybe things will be alright if those areas are avoided.

The irony of this is these are the same people who will “valiantly” stand there ground for maybe about five minutes after making hot takes and then locking their accounts down when things get hot.

Also asmongold votes for tr*mp? (I hate when people write stuff like this) I thought the guy was generally pretty liberal? I don’t remember him saying this or saying something like this?

And if these people get Asmon banned for no other reason other than just existing I will laugh really hard because Zepla and Mrhappy are going to do backflips in terms of mental gymnastics to try and justify the community not being a complete shithole after Asmon swears off the game for good and exposes it to millions of people. But it’s probably not going to happen because twittertards never really play XIV, they just stand around taking porn pics of their characters.
 
I've been playing FFXIV on and off (currently off rn due to 5.55 being a Bozja patch) -- but this whole Asmongold thing just seems like a conveniently timed ad by Square-Enix. Especially since that whole Twitch promotion just started on June 28th. I frankly dont buy into it.
